They are extremely short staffed which means you will end up doing 3-4 jobs in one. Then you will be personally blamed when it goes wrong. There are serious cliques within the company, and this allows certain incompetent members of staff to be retained year after year.
 
There are people who have been there many years, who are more interested in retaining their job than in results. The staff turnover is very high, way above a similar sized bank. Its because they treat their staff very badly with the blame culture and lack of resources to get things done. 

The only good thing about the place is the free lunch, and the quality of food is very high. 

Good job and atmosphere however not easy to progress if you are career driven. The banks atmosphere is cautious and they are not leading edge in their processes or technology. Definitely an industry follower

Flat hierarchy which offers staff a good insight into the workings of senior management.

Had a great experience here as my first job during my university years. Was a shame I could not continue my contract once I graduated as I feel it would have been a great company to continue to work for

C Hoare & Co is an amazing place to work with fantastic staff benefits such as, free lunches, high pension, yearly performance related bonus, overtime, staff events and other benefits.

Company were very helpful, providing a great overview of life working for the family and detailing how the investment selection process works for the company itself.
