A Typical Day at Work:
Every day is different in domiciliary care, which keeps the job interesting and meaningful. A typical day involves visiting clients in their own homes, assisting with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and offering companionship. Building relationships with clients and supporting their independence is at the heart of what we do.

What I Learned:
I've gained valuable skills in communication, time management, and problem-solving. It’s also taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and being adaptable to each individual’s unique needs.

Management:
The management team has been supportive and responsive. They provide good training, regular check-ins, and are always available to offer guidance or help when challenges come up.

Workplace Culture:
The culture is caring and team-focused. Even though we often work alone in the field, there's a real sense of community and shared purpose. Colleagues and managers genuinely care about one another and about providing the best care possible.

The Hardest Part of the Job:
It can be emotionally and physically demanding at times, especially when dealing with end-of-life care or clients with complex needs. Managing a tight schedule and travel between clients can also be challenging.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:
The best part is knowing you’ve made a difference in someone’s day. The gratitude from clients and their families is incredibly rewarding. It’s a privilege to support people in living comfortably and with dignity in their own homes.

The workplace culture is generally positive, with staff who genuinely care about their roles and the people they support. Communication has improved over time, and management is working hard to make sure everyone feels listened to and supported. There are opportunities to learn and grow, and the atmosphere is team-focused.

A typical day would be travelling to different locations within Argyllshire , to assist  and support our clients with their day to day schedules.  A lot of work was geared towards giving clients the confidence to make decisions , and socialize .  .. It takes a lot of patience,  to do this type of work.   That I learned very quickly.  However, management was always there to support us through difficult times.  ..   .. My co-workers were the best. ever.   .Very caring people and fully motivated to doing their best for our clients.  .. 

I believe for me, the hardest part of the job, was dealing with clients who could be verbally abusive, .And learning how to defuse the situation . 

The most enjoyable part, was being able to socialize with clients , and see them having a good time with their friends .

Horrendous place to work. Management do not want or care to listen. Terrible induction by inadequately trained staffed. Communication abismal from management to staff. Constant changing of rotas without informing staff.  Staff thinking it’s ok to manhandle service users and not being corrected. Medication being given covertly with no legal paperwork to ensure this can be done. Very little understanding of challenging behaviour and how to respond to it in a proactive way.  Management need culling and staff need training desperately.

An outstanding company, both to work for and receive care from. Genuinely care for clients and staff and are so helpful and understanding of staff needs. A dedicated team who work round the clock to do a great job. I love working for Care Solutions, they are dedicated to having a great team of carers, and are quick to identify worker who are not for this job, ensuring clients always get a high quality of support. Very approachable and would recommend them to anyone

Love the diversity of your working day usually starting at 7am and finishing at 10pm. No two days are the same as it's older adults we provide assistance to. A very rewarding job as it allows individuals to stay at home with a tailored package to meet their needs. This job is not for someone looking for an easy ride but is very rewarding when clients thank you for helping them.

We have a good team of carers and we all communicate very well especially when working together

When the boss does not listen to our concerns

Some working environments are dangerous but some are great

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When I start work in the morning and finish in the night

Over worked under paid, dont follow their own training guidelines seems theyd rather get rid of whistleblowers then address client and staff safety issues. Playground fall outs amongst the staff. Management poor and unproffessional. Couldnt even get my hours a week in advance. One of the staff was living in the spare room and doing over legal hours a week and would shout if things werent done her way. Wouldnt want a friend or family member cared for there. Red flags everywhere.

The lack of compassion for the clients and employees from the management

Too many hours overloading client’s management not listening

Extremely busy from 6.30 am to 2pm then 4-10 pm

There is always work to be done or training
