Working in a team of two my collegue and I ensure all customers are needs met, goods produced and shipped to them on time in full, along with entering all orders into the system. Myself and my collegue work closely with production, QA and planning to ensure our customer requirements can be fullfilled to their satisfaction and within the SLA set and agreed. I work closley with our customers chosen transport company to ensure all orders once released for dispatch are collected as agreed and on time. Attend daily meeting with planning and production to discuss current orders status on a rolling week basis. Where required advise customers on any amendments to the expected delivery dates submitted to them. I have built up a good working relationship with staff at all levels in these departments, which is essential to the success of the company. Due to this, we can work together to ensure where possible we meet the customer deadlines/demands.
The most difficult part of the role is requesting our suppliers to provide us with our requirements occassionally ealier than the standard lead time.
The most enjoyable part of the role is the variation of tasks and different people you come into contact with daily. You never know day to day what issues you will face.
It is most dissapointing that after only a few months of starting full time employment with Catalent, and begining to get to grips with working in a new industry that they have announced the closure of the secondary Packing business.

Truthfully an awful company to work for. They claim pay is competitive but it’s always below the market average. The upper management have absolutely no idea what they are doing and micromanage you at all times often blaming you for things you didn’t even do wrong. 
The company constantly takes benefits away from you at the drop of a hat. When I started it was 2 days in the office a week and in the middle of the summer holidays they changed there mind with no notice and expected people in 4 days a week (which later was found to be impossible so it sat at 3 days temporarily). 
They constantly remind you that you are easily replaceable to the company and that you don’t matter. 
The turnover of staff is absolutely dreadful. 
As for the future progression and training they always claim they offer, after being there nearly 3 years no one from our team progressed or got any form of training. 
I could go on and on but I hope this gives a general understanding of the company. 
Would not recommend at all. 


As a member of lab staff its a tough job since the business is very busy and heavy on lab work. Even though there is a huge lab team there is still plenty of work to keep you busy. 

You are well trained in the lab to make you feel confident on the work you are doing. 

However, mistakes are highlighted with everyone even those not involved or have anything to do with the department. Seems to be a large gossip culture in upper management that stops growth of lab staff. 

Working in the lab is fun and enjoyable as all techniques are available and you can be trained on anything if you are willing enough. Great place to start off as their GMP knowledge and implication is very strict and correctly so. Even though paper based it is very easy to find paperwork from previous years as archiving and quality department are well established. 

Hours tend to be a 8-4 or 9-5 but overtime is always needed, poor work life balance. 
Little to no training is given even although having no experience and the work is still expected to be completed at a fast pace. 
Work is rushed and pushed through to get kits out the door as quick as possible with the company more interested in finance rather that 'Patient First' which they claim to be. 
Unfortunately a lot of blame culture within Catalent means you don't want to speak up about certain circumstances such as quality of work. Loads of paperwork and manual work due to technology being coming behind the times.

I haven't enjoyed working with Catalent in the slightest.

I started at 7.30 I worked in a cubicle with one or two other people, it was quite poorly managed as I could be sat for days without a job to do and wait hours for paperwork to be signed off. Not much training was offered initially and then once put on a job i was inundated with SOP's (like tests on how to run things) to complete with no time to complete them. My co-workers were mostly polite and helpful with the odd one or two treating me unfairly as I was agency staff. The job was pretty easy apart from all the hours when there were no jobs running and you had to sit in a room doing absolutely nothing. Then when my contract came to an end I was informed by text when i got home that i would no longer be required despite speaking to the floor manager that day where she could have let me know face to face. Overall the worst place i have worked.

A typical day would start with a morning meeting were the supervisors or manager would discuss workload any problems we have if there were any damage to product to report we would go over health and safety and if there were any safety concerns we would like to report after the team finish the meeting we would put half the team on picking of supplies and the other half would be put on verifying the product making sure there were no damage to the kits and the kits were the correct ones on the verifyers core request the best part of doing the job is that we achieve customer satisfaction and out work load is complete loaded on to awaiting couriers for delivery 

a typical day at work involved setting work out in accordance with specs,learning how different products were packed and sometimes assembled to customers satisfaction and needs,management and supervisors were allways on hand to help out when needed,my co workers well you couldnt ask for better team mates allways there to lend a hand when needed and we are just one big happy family ,hardest part of the roll was some times the paperwork after each order was completed, as each customer required different packing operations,i,e size of cartons ,different labels,and quantity,the most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the product go to stores knowing that everything was correct and in place.

Each day i had to pack, label, organise and clean drugs which would then be shipped all around the world to pharmacies and doctors etc. I learned that team work is key in reaching a deadline on time and you should always talk to each other rather than trying to achieve personal congratulations. The management team were friendly and approachable as where the co-workers. The hardest part of the job was ensuring not a single particle / fibre was in the room / on the products at any one time as it was a strain for your eyes after many hours and the most enjoyable part of the job was working in teams and also being trained on different machinery.

All levels of management were poor, no one would take accountability. Turnover of middle management was high, so experience was low which exaserbated an already stressful environment. Their answer was to rule over production with the constant threat of discipline, yet operator training was a quick show how to do a task, sign SOP and thats it. Paperwork was never filled in correctly and although it went through 4 checking stages still reached the customer wrong and the product sent back. The culture on the shop floor was to point fingers in a blame game, no one trusted managers and everyone watched their back. Most enjoyable part of the job, "going home".

In any given day I work within a team of 10 people to ensure that patients at sites receive the medication that they require packaged correctly and on time. the most enjoyable aspect of my work is teaching/training out the various roles, responsibilities and duties that are performed to achieve customer satisfaction with accurate documentation to achieve on time deliveries. 
The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that we have helped to make someone's life more comfortable.
