What is the best part of working at the company?
Initially job was great, but role changed before starting having already resigned and had no recourse to remain at old job. So job was not what was agreed to nor would have accepted if it had been made clear that role would change within 6 weeks of starting.  Moved on elsewhere shortly afterwards.

That job did not match role that was accepted.

Lovely. Nice people and good environment

All the staff were really professional and friendly.

Nothing, it was fine. I left because I wanted to work in a new feild and not with children.

Positive, friendly, well resourced, clean and hard working, sociable culture.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and challenging but supportive.

I think it would be hard to describe a typical day at Cognita, as by the very nature of working with children, no two days are the same. There is the general school routine, however themed weeks and other factors e.g. productions would sometimes mean that these routines are not always strictly adhered to. 

The most enjoyable part of my job was the children I worked with and   my colleagues.

Challenging company to work for.  Because most of the work is done during the academic year, priorities for the business change regularly and resource is usually stretched.  But it's a great place to work and the staff are always cheerful.

I used to love love love this company. It was fun, engaging,  satisfying and the benefits are (still) good. 

However, since lockdown and the new management took over it’s not the same as it was. 

We never have staff events, I don’t feel appreciated and there is far too much pressure on staff. 



As in all groups of schools there are positives and negatives to each individual school. As a company you feel they try to support in their words but in reality work life balance and well-being is not held in high priority. 

Personally I had a good experience with Cognita School, only because my line manager was brilliant. However, there was always some tension in the room that made everyone a little tense.

I was only doing work experience so none of this was from a professional point of view. It was a lovely place to work, all the staff were very kind! The school was also very well equipped for learning.

Underfunded group of Schools, profit is taken out of the UK business. Upkeep of facilities is poor,  a great team of dedicated people on the ground keep things going.

Excellent supportive colleagues. Some very demanding parents..  Lots of extra-curricular sports and drama & music. Very active Parent teacher association.
