I joined this company as a 'Brand Ambassador', which was advertised as a marketing based role involving taking an active part in the promotion of a new product including analysing the feedback from potential customers. In reality, the job was standing in a shopping centre trying to sell broadband. The job was entirely misadvertised and at no point did they mention the day to day activities of the job, instead just using vague terms - as a 21 year old finding my first job, I fell for this. The other people hired alongside me were also my age and I believe they took advantage of our naivety. We were on our feet, often in the rain for 8 hours with only a 30 minute break, and branded underperforming when not enough people signed up (as if we could control what other people do). The working hours were also grossly misadvertised, as well as the bonus scheme. I was paid £20,000 for this job, which was a great starter salary but in no way worth it. To put it plainly, I'm now in a £16,000 per year job and I wouldn't switch places because I'm now respected in my new job. The company also treated some of my coworkers poorly and were not at all sensitive or respectful to employees suffering from mental health issues.

This job involved setting up a sampling trolley with promotional goods for the day. Adherence to Health and safety regulations is most important as it was generally foodstuffs sweets & alcohol which were promoted.
Needed to have reasonable portions of both food & drink to sample & be aware of product description in order to promote interest & ultimately encourage customers to purchase product in Sainsbury which is the company Cosine was connected with.
Required having adequate supply of product & signing a sheet each time sampling trolley was cleansed when I had a tea or lunch break.
This also involved directing customers to the relevant part of the store to purchase goods sampled or being stationed near to product promoting for specified day.
At the end of each shift results & hours worked needed to be phoned in.

Depending on where you are based, you may find the hours long. This will depend on which company you are contracted to. My working day is 11 hours on call, Monday to Friday. You are paid for 7 hours of that day from your 1st call. So depending again on where you are based you could be out on the road for 12 to 13 hours. You are expected to travel to conferences, and they do organize your travel, over nights stays and connections for you, at the last minute. This means if a conferences starts Monday morning at 09:00, you will be travelling on the weekend. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting up with your clients, the hardest part of the job was keeping up with the constant change in the criteria for the mission in hand. This also includes how your bonus is calculated. They say one thing and do something else.

I have learned that it is better to be employed with the company who's product you are promoting than going through this agency.

This was my first foray into field work. My first day I had no call file until after start time meaning I had no time to plan my day. And it was a case of get out there!  Planning your day and researching your calls  had to be done in your own time. A target of 11 calls. I had calls that were a 4 hour around trip. Then my call file disappeared off the very poor software-then it came back with more calls in areas I had already visited- after waiting the day for the call file to return! No calls no pay !
Then my call file disappeared again and thats when I disappeared!!
All in all minimum wage maximum output using your own car phone iPad (you do get 32p mileage allowance) I wonder who claims the 13p difference from HMRC ?

Sampling stands crammed into cages with boxes of Products stored on top. Arrive early to set up the point of sale & thoroughly clean the inside & out side of the stand for health & hygiene. Check for any damage to the stand for safety. If cooking is required add the microwave or halogen oven & extension leads. Consumables etc.
Most days are busy depending on the campaign and how popular it is.
Purchase ingredients, prepare vegetables,  cook ingredients and hand out samples to consumers . Encourage customers to purchase and to make at home.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you sell out of buying stock then move on to the alternative, if this sells out, move onto super alternatives. Rewarding results.

After leaving a job due to the coronavirus I was pretty nervous about working for cosine. I had previously had a really bad manager who had destroyed my confidence. But Rich my manager at cosine had absolutely restored my faith in working life. He runs his team firmly but fairly and always encouraging us to do our best. He is so easy to get along with and very trustworthy. No question goes unanswered and he works himself to the bone for us. I'm saddened to leave in desember as I feel at home here. Thank you cosine you rebuilt a person who was in desperate need of it. I will forever be in debt to the team and amazing management! 

Worked on a number of campaigns with Cosine (same company as CPM) they are notoriously low payers relying on their size and former influence to entice gullible grads and first time entrants into the promo arena. They have lost many large accounts due to the fragmentation of the marketplace and the poor wages they pay. If you want to drive your car to various supermarkets and get paid £8.20 an hour then this is the job for you. Otherwise I'd look at other companies that offer better money and career advancement which Cosine certainly do not.

Key Responsibilities	

•	Line management of 6 BDE in Convenience & Impulse sector concentrating primarily on symbol groups (Premier, Costcutter, Best One, Nisa and Londis)
•	As a new account, set up and rolled out the induction program, in call process and bonus scheme successfully.
•	Handling high level client meetings and field visits.

Key Achievements
	
•	Grew distribution from 8.5 SKU’s per store to 13.1 SKU’s per store after 6 completed 4 week cycles (A massive 56% increase)
•	This was vs a target of 12 SKU’s per store (9.1% ahead of stretch target)

For the first 5 years we did actually make a difference but over time we ended up with Poor management who are either Lazy and or inexperienced.
50% of the team get away with doing very little or nothing at all due to there RFM not doing his job properly which is Down to his laziness.
Senior management aren’t really interested other than box ticking and pretending to give value for money to their client (DPD) 
Unfortunately for DPD they get very little for their money.

I was employed by Cosine for 3 years, employed on a contract for DPD courier service.  
I enjoyed working for Cosine at first until they started to employ Area Managers that would do as they are told by Dpd so all blame always got passed on to Cosine employees. This was due to Cosine Management being weak and not being able to express to Dpd the problems that 
dpd were creating all due to the fact that Cosine were frightened of losing the contract
