I enjoyed my time at Day Agg but the rules eventually wear you down especially when you see more senior staff ignoring them. 

Positives. Good kit, fair pay, nice people & good facilities.  

Negatives.  Difficult to to get half term holidays, basic 20 days holiday (needs to be 24) but have to save some from Christmas, safety is important but no sensible discretion, told I could face a disciplinary for wearing my own leather rigger gloves & not their cheap ones, asked to move a spare truck 50metres in the yard but you must put your card in, hard hat to be worn 5m from truck to car park but no locker to store it. All sounds like silly winges but rules can change as the day progresses as reactive without forethought & its drags you down eventually.

Summery. All in all a good job with fair pay,  I think some of the issues I had are as much about me & my experience elsewhere in some unique jobs so found the robotic in nature at Day aggregates suffocating but can't fault the job & think ex military would really fit in as likely used to certain rule driven environments.

Average day is fast paced but relaxing, trucks come in get loaded and leave. its an easy job if you have 2 brain cells and decent work ethic. build sheet has all the information you need to crack on with your day, truck arrives there loads called over radio you load him with the products boom one down. as long as you keep work area clean and don't waste time, help co-workers, abide by company procedure and keep to health & safety, generally just do what your paid to do then the management will leave you alone.  often great laughs over the radio good banter. sometimes stressful especially when the trucks all turn up at once. all round a great place to work an amazing company with excellent benefits and pay. 30 mins break in the morning and another 30 in the afternoon. overtime is plentiful BUT optional. cold drinks are often provided from management like coke, Fanta, Dr pepper etc.. on the odd occasion bacon roles in the morning.

Good days are good, when the work is achievable.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When there’s more loads going out than the site can deal with. You’re expected to do far more than you can cope with, stress levels are very high.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good colleagues, always have a laugh. That’s the only benefit to working there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive 6:30, probably already 2/3 trucks waiting to be loaded. Chasing your tail all morning, management constantly wanting you to speed up. The company look after their staff but the workload is too much from my experience. Never any quiet periods.

Pay is good. strict on irrelevant rules.  Hard work goes unrecognised for the most part. Generally nice coworkers across the depots although many feel unhappy and too scared to speak up. Lunch breaks were frowned upon and discouraged. Management would openly talk poorly of employees behind their backs for all to hear. A clever company at box ticking to keep up appearances but highly unprofessional behind closed doors.

Good environment,  bonuses, friendly staff. Good management

Not very stressful. Occasionally being given distance jobs and busy times

Very pleasant.  On the whole mostly friendly and welcoming

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive between 6/630, make a coffee, collect keys, do vehicle checks and leave the yard around 7 for the days work

Friendly and self managed. Great culture

Fast paced but you leave it all behind at the end of the day

This company was definitely a nice change of environment for myself to come to as the work/life balance was easier to manage and also the people were very friendly and welcoming to have men onboard. I did not feel out of place and hit the ground running with my new role. There was talks of development from the beginning and have not let me down. 

Best place I ever had the joy to work. Everyone works together as a great team and the people here are amazing.
Make you feel like a family .
I Left this job to move away and start a family . This job is the only thing I miss about moving away .

Absolutely the worst company  absolutely shxt management they are  shxt they treated you like shxt they made other work colleagues to make false statements to keep there jobs absolutely shxt company
