I’ve had the opportunity to work across all shifts here, mornings, afternoons and nights, in a variety of roles. I think you get out of this job what you put into it. 
When you start, you’ll be buddies up with someone who’ll show you the ropes and best practice. You’ll love around the warehouse learning each of the different daily tasks. Whether this be Goods-In or Replenishment on days, Printing Pick Sheets or Picking Orders on afternoons and for nights, Administration Tasks or Loading Vehicles. There’s plenty you can find yourself doing, and if you prove to be good at, could become the go-to-person for that particular task. 
In my time at delifresh, I’ve learnt a lot, not only about the Widnes depot, but also about the other depots and other departments. I’m building new relationships with other stakeholders daily and this only, in my opinion, helps build my knowledge and, in turn, do a better job. It also helps with self development, not only with things like confidence, but putting yourself out there helps when new job roles and promotions come up, which they do. 
There’s plenty of people you can speak to in the management team. Whichever shift you join into has a ‘buddy’, section leaders, supervisors and a shift manager, so you can always check in with someone if needed. We have regular visits from other senior management too. 
We have an online platform which you’ll be introduced to when you join. This allows you to give or receive gratitude, praise or even a thank-you or happy birthday to or from any colleagues in your team or the wider business. We have a monthly ‘Best of the Best’ award which sees somebody from each depot being recognised for something stand-out that they’ve done or even just continuously doing a great job - and you’ll receive a tasty hamper as a well done for this too. I find that everyone here wants everyone else to do well and everyone does what they can to help their colleagues. This site also has links to colleague benefits such as high street discounts, theme park ticket discounts and other great stuff. 
Once you’ve passed the probationary period too, you’ll be enrolled into a health benefit platform. Delifresh use a company called WPA. Here you can claim back some of the costs for things like dental care, eye care and any therapy you have, as well as any prescriptions. And the money is back with you within a couple of days, not weeks. It’s a great thing to have access to! 
The hardest part of the job can sometimes be down to time restraints. This could be deliveries arriving towards the end of the day shift or maybe late orders coming through towards the end of the night shift. It may seem like these hiccups could cause you to finish late (and sometimes this is true) but I find that if everyone just pulls together, the task is done quicker and you’re on your way home sooner. I must also say on this point though that there are many more early finishes than late ones. Sometimes you are finished over an hour early and not made to stay for the remainder of your hours. 
Another positive of working at delifresh is the summer day out and Christmas night out. The company arrange these two big events, as well as other smaller ones, to get the teams together in a non-work environment, and it’s usually multi-depot too. Last year we had a Christmas party at Knowsley Safari Park with everything paid for and everyone enjoyed themselves. This summer we went to Haydock Racecourse, had some nice food and finished the day with a Craig David concert. The weather was nice too. A great day out!  
Often we have busy days, usually these fall around big calendar dates like Easter or Mother’s Day and some bank holidays. Management realise that these days are busier than others and recognise this but rewarding the staff to free take out orders, maybe breakfasts or pizzas. We also celebrate Colleague Appreciation Day which sees us having a bit of fun and some food/drinks together in our teams.  

Do you enjoy working for abhorrently incompetent and indirect managers? That not only have absolutely zero regard for you or anyone around you, but are openly mocked by their supervisors and staff due to lack of workplace assertiveness?

Do you enjoy being made to stay up to two hours beyond contractual hours that is falsely represented as "balanced early finishes" in an environment that embraces staunch nepotism and an open discussion of personal and private issues? 

Do you enjoy being disregarded concerning your health? Even if you injured yourself in the workplace? Do you enjoy working in a food environment that does not adhere correctly health and safety?

The powers that be in Bradford should really review how this place is being run as it is clear to see from the high staff turnover and negative comments prior to this review that there are clearly issues that need to be addressed. Not only in the realms of safety but also staff wellbeing and morale within the workplace.

The only plus to working within this firm is the fact that I met some absolutely brilliant people that I worked alongside in the role that I now consider lifelong friends. I just hope things get better for those still present. This could be a brilliant place of work with the right people within management. 



It's OK for short term one of the managers at the branch I work is OK the rest of them not great they even have a transport manager that can't drive 7.5t but most of what we do is carried 
out on 7.5 tonne vehicles therefore has a lack of understanding of the rules around 7.5 driving ( not his fault though) there is a total lack for your safety making you carry heavy items up and down flights of steps unfit trucks you can keep reporting faults to the management till your blue in the face nothing really gets fixed your just told to take the trucks on the road with warning lights on rule bending is constant at the widnes Depot I had to leave the job as I felt unsafe and very high staff turn over all reported problems just get ignored I really don't think HR have any idea how bad things are at widnes..no risk assessment taken out on the drops where your forced to walk up and down many steps carrying 25kg + at times if you hurt yourself doing this you will only get ssp if you have to stay off work..


The pay is ok considering you normally finish earlier than scheduled. The job itself is good if you like fast paced, good job to keep yourself fit. The benefits are great too, cashback etc on hundreds of things and you get a yearly bonus. The best part of your day is as soon as you leave the depot and start your run. Being in the depot is  definitely the worst part of your day I have never known a management to run the way this company works, very two faced happy to call staff members every name under the sun to other staff for no reason at all ? Management will definitely make it known whether they like you or not. I genuinely believe some sort of management course/guidance would be a huge benefit to the whole workplace, no hate, as none of them have people skills or any Experience in a management role. This company could really thrive if they looked into this as nearly every review says the same issues with management and I also believe this would sort out the morale problem that has been an issue for a very long time now. 

Delivering to products to bars/restaurants/hotels. 45hours per week. Guaranteed hours week in week out on a 5day, 6day, 5day, 6day then x2 4day week pattern. 

Usually left alone during the day to do your job, phone rarely rings unless you are asked to collect stock from another depot.

Usually all is loaded for you in a morning but you do have to load bulk items and trays yourself on some busier time periods.

Management are great and friendly, always up for a laugh as long as work is done. Overtime is avaliable if you want it but you're restricted sometimes due to driving hours or WTD. 

They also have 3.5t vans which do not require a tachograph. 

Pay could be better for the 7.5t drivers, as you're doing triple the work of the 3.5t who are only on £500 less per month but it's a decent stepping stone into multi drop driving and getting experience in a "HGV"

I started my time as an agency worker at delifresh Bradford & was offered a full time job which i was over the moon about. I have not got a bad word to say about the business only that the uniform needs to be reconsidered for the warehouse. I have been with Delifresh for 14x weeks now & i have passed my probation & i am now full time, the 4/8/13 week reviews were a really good platform to express any concerns i had or my manager had with me. It is fast paced but the time goes by quickly which suits me. It would be good to have more weekend nights off but there is a shift pattern in place so you get 1 in 4 weekends off which is better than a lot of businesses in this sector. I came from a mechanical back ground but once you get your head around the zone you have allocated it's not so hard i am now an expert in fine foods hahah-who would of thought.

once you can adjust to the early mornings you really start to see the benefits of the early finish because most days you are away by 11am. Pay is fair for the job you do and you are paid for the full day, even when you get away before shift finishes. 

the staff are friendly and although the mornings are the busiest times but everyone helps each other and we have a laugh. you can build a good relationship with some of customers because you are put on the same run. you only have to pick the bulk and it is loaded for you by a forklift driver. 

it is a good place to get experience of commercial driving as the company will give you the chance and oppotunity to develop your skills.



Everything was great at DeliFresh, until a new nights manager started. The struggles we faced of a night were manageable until a complete disregard of staff welfare fell away and the only thing important was getting the job done and the vans loaded regardless of staffing levels or weather conditions. When team work played a big part in the job role the shifts ran fine, now it’s everyone for themselves and there isn’t much of a team spirit left. Hard working staff get nowhere in there although the staff who have learnt the 🐂💩 over brains approach can really excel. If your agency staff then prepare yourself to be used and dropped at your expense👌A depot that does not follow the company values 

You get a bonus but if you have an accident they take part off you for months same with being ill for long period and being late to clock on for your shift. Driving hours are various depending on route until 12:30 or 1:30 if you go over its tough if you are under they try and get you to make up the hours never mind that you may have worked over your finishing times 3 out of 5 days etc. Myself asked if i could learn the office side of the job 3 or 4 times but was ignored and other newer staff was given the chance lots of errors made in picking the orders. Often have to work through your breaks. bonus pay used to be more but they took 50 pound off it and gave us a pay rise which everybody knew they had used the 50 pound to fund it

Not enough staff, fast paced work, very stressful at times with no help from management. Expected to work overtime without any pay for it as it should counterbalance early finishes which never happen. Everything about the place is dishonest including interview questions and answers. Gets rid of staff without warning when workload slows down to save money instead of training for the busiest periods. Management discuss personal details with other members of staff without permission. Unable to make plans outside of the workplace as questioned when wanting to leave on time if jobs are not completed (need more capable staff for jobs to be completed)
