I was a Centre Point employee btw. It was great at first, management was helpful and work was fun. I actually looked foward to coming in everyday. But when Covent Garden staff went back after their branch had finished renovating, there was no staff left. One by one, everyone started leaving. And when a new manager came in, work became unbearable. Instead of caring about their employees, it became caring about the company itself, and the profit they could bring in. If you do work there, you will understand which manager i am talking about. Because of Din Tai Fung, i lost my apetite to work and hated and dreaded the days i had to come in. And its not just me, everyone here is miserable because of shortage of staff and terrible management. 

I am giving 1 star as I am forced to -  They do deserve 0 star. Worst job experience ever. Toxic management. They do not offer staff drinks (coffee, tea, and that was the first time for me in hospitality). Always short staffed (as everyone end up calling sick tired of the pressure and amount of work for 1 person). Enormous number of guests visiting, so be ready to run and sweat. 

No support from senior management. No proper hours. Every time the government increases pay they reduce your tronc to keep you at the same salary. They only care about the floor and kitchen staff because they are from china/taiwan. If you’re looking to be a food runner, kitchen porter or the bar team don’t because they don’t care about you.

An amazing job, learning and experiencing so much .
But sadly  there are certain people who purposely make it harder for you no matter what.
You do something good, or come up with a good idea, and get told why didnt you do it before or I could do it better by anyone who has a higher position, very mentally deteriorating.


The hardest part of the job is the fast paced environment, however it helped me build a lot more transferable and useful skills the management and other employees were good at helping me when I needed it 

Din Tia Fung situated at Selfridges is a very good place to work. Specially working in the basement at food loading dock. I gained a lot of experience and I feel very happy about it. 

There are lovely co-workers; however, the management of the bar team needs to be trained better. They take advantage of their positions which is toxic for the employment.

Great work environment, supportive but challenging management style.  Great approach to employee discomfort and conflict resolution within the organisation. 

Kitchen is the place for the ones that that just landed in the UK for jobs. Wearing the uniform like hazards uniform. All wrap up like dumplings. You have sections to work with.
