I’ve been at E for one year now after initially applying for indeed and can honestly say it’s one of the healthiest work environments I’ve ever worked in.

The hours are regular, making it easy to plan out of work activities and annual leave. Overtime is available occasionally in busy periods and it is not expected but offered. They are very accommodating of medical appointments and shift swaps can be arranged between colleagues if approved by management. 

The training is intensive and informative but you’re not expected to walk out of the training room knowing everything, support is ongoing. 

I’ve seen a few criticisms of the strictness but honestly, it’s the same as any workplace in that regard. If you’re on time, in when you’re supposed to be and try your hardest, you can’t go far wrong.  

All jobs have targets and E’s aren’t ridiculous. They don’t expect anything from you apart from your attendance, a positive attitude and willingness to work when you’re at work.  It can be fast paced at times but the days go quick and everyone is very clear on what’s expected and willing to assist if needed.

The job tends to be very busy in colder months and a lot quieter over summer, meaning it’s easy to get annual leave in the sunny months when you just want to be outside. When it’s busy, support is still easily accessed and you’re not made to feel like a fool for asking questions. As with many contact centres, when it’s busy it’s busy but you don’t have to take any work home, which really helps keep a work life balance.

Managers are supportive, from contact centre managers right the way to those working at the top of the company. Because of the friendly and non-cliquey environment, it’s simple and easy to approach anyone you might need to talk to, at any level, be that management, HR, or one of the other departments. In general there is a friendly atmosphere, and you’ll find quite quickly that even those in the top, high-powered jobs remember your name and are happy to answer questions or even just chat in the kitchen area.  I’ve had absolutely 0 drama in since I started. 

The pay is very competitive for the l role and increases can be gained every year for the first four years as well as the usual annual increases. 

There are pizza days when there’s something to celebrate and the whole office gets involved in frequent fun days - PJ day, Halloween dress up, Bake Offs to name just a few. 

Overall, very happy here. One year in and hoping it’s the first of many. 



I have been working for the company for over 2 years now within my role and many changes have been made in my time since I have been here. 

The Customer Service department demands work of a high quality and a lot of effort has been put into streamlining and working off the back of feedback from staff to improve processes to not only enhance the customers experience but benefit the staff that work here.

The work can be challenging at times with high call volumes however with the collective effort of everyone pulling together there is a real feeling of unity when trying to serve customers quickly without losing the quality and standards that are in place that benefit everyone in the long run. Many of the work streams are in the process of constantly being reviewed and updated.

In general the workforce are diverse and hardworking people. There is a real emphasis on finding the right people for the right roles and a lot of effort is put into training new starters to a good standard. The ability to problem solve and be pro-active to seek resolutions yourself is encouraged and is reflected by the pride in which staff take via their quality scores and knowledge base. This in turn means multiple opportunities to learn and work within other business areas is certainly a must for those wanting to progress.

In terms of Management, everyone is given a voice and a lot of time is spent on planning wider business updates and on-going issues which seek resolve. The Management team as a whole has a broad and strong knowledge base within the industry and each person brings a different skill set to the table.

The shifts are on a rotor basis and are planned weeks in advance which generally leaves you in a good position to plan your life around.

The current benefits of the company are also welcomed with free car parking, free breakfast and drinks amongst others.

As a whole the company really does put the customer first and this can only be reflected by the staff that they employ. The business is in a good stable position and the decisions made by the business are generally well thought through and executed well.

This is the last thing u do working here.I see people talking about how nice it is to work there but I'm pretty sure these people are like the managers who get the good pay and walk up and down with mobile phones to their ears all day long . Training is given for two weeks all classroom based, third week you go on the floors and don't have a clue what you on about because you have never been introduced to the system. Whilst in the classroom the topics go back n forth so your notes are all over , its so disorganised .

People have relationships with each other and you constantly see them into each other all day long rather than keeping it professional , this place is like a whole family affair , those who were in relationships , those who are dating , engaged ,those who have kids for each other etc.
Women wear skimpy clothing and trust me I've seen womens knickers just from bending over to get their bags .Dress down Fridays you should see the leggings and waist level tops worn ,literally  every thing is exposed. The managers are very unsupportive , the system is a lot , harsh KPI'S you get marked down for things like not having a capital letter in the beginning of a statement or doing doing data capture in the beginning of the call. 

Ive witnessed staff asking managers out and they are all ok for it .This is a place I would never mention working for and would never invite my partner if I was given the choice .. People come and go reason they recruit every month by the end of the two weeks nearly everyone is gone 

You are told about over time but guess what u can stay as late and never get a pound . Even if you get a call at 1 sec to the hour you about to knock off you must take it and don't get paid over time . So bad this place

One of the worse companies to ever had the displeasure to work for! The training course is a complete waste of time they do not cater for all learning needs just loads of PowerPoints. The company management is ran by the Originals so forget career progression within company its very clique if you aren't in the IT crowd your days are numbered if you dare speak up about the treatment of yourself or customers they are not interested. They have a very high turnaround of stuff, dictatorship springs to mind with certain managers, unprofessional behaviour within company ranks! The abuse you take on a day to day basis and volume of calls are made so the Originals answer a few and newbies are hammered with calls. The call quality is also checked and your scores can be accessed publically by everyone in the company so if you suffer any mental health condition's or any medical conditions don't ever bother applying either they are not sympathetic or understanding in slightest   Do not trust anyone on the floor or your pod as there is a lot of school ground behaviour even from members of management. Quite possibly one of the worse company I have ever worked for would not recommend this company to anyone

Where to begin, I served at E for over 4 years. Initially the place had a lot of potential; the call to staff ratio was good so you weren't inundated, management were hired from within so they knew the difficulties of the front line job and targets weren't as arbitrary.

But over the years these were gradually chipped away. Senior management only bothered to hire long after the horse had bolted so call to staff ratios were through the roof, arbitrary targets were implemented and worst of all, lower management were no longer hired from within.

This is truly the sticking point, middle to upper management became fixated at paying recruitment agencies to find external managers, many of who had no experience of the energy industry. It would take them months to get to speed and nearly all the time would end up getting sacked. As of when I left the company, no externally hired manager had lasted more than a year. The company was purposely paying more for(generally) lower quality team managers. This in turn depressed morale and ramped-up turnover. Progression by the time I left became effectively non-existent.

Also, having to work every other Saturday is sickening.

I have worked here since 2017 and I find the staff and management to be a friendly and supportive group of people. A good training team ensure you know what you're doing even if you come from outside of the industry like I did. Every time I've asked for assistance someone has been there to help me.

An ever evolving and growing company with a great feedback system in place, with weekly coaching to help where your struggling. Opportunities to train with other departments and the chance to progress and move departments when positions become available. Team bonding exercises available such as days out, and a free annual Christmas party.

A typical day involves answering calls from customers who require help with anything from loosing a payment card to booking engineers to help with a faulty meter. The most enjoyable part of the job is the atmosphere in the office while we help customers with they're problems, with events held to motivate and entertain the staff.

It started off well at first, the overall atmosphere was pretty good, but that has taken a very negative turn in recent years.

I can honestly say I have felt absolutely no motivation to better myself in my role within the company anymore, no matter how much effort you put in, improvements you made there was never a worthy reward in the end. This is why I left. 

You continually get asked to take on more and more responsibility much above your pay grade with this idea that you will get a good amount of recognition for your efforts in your next review. Then your review comes, you sit down with your manager, you go through everything you've been doing, all the effort you've put in to be the best you can and continually improve, your manager agrees. Then they turn around and say, none of that actually matters as we can only increase your wage by up to £1000 a year.

It's very likely in this year that you've taken on enough additional tasks and responsibilities that you've realistically moved up to the next role within your team, but you'll never be paid that amount, you may even be offered a new title but it won't come with the monetary reward to warrant you taking it up.

I have worked for E for a few months. Initially I found it hard  as there is a lot of information to take in but I’m so happy I stuck with it and I really enjoy my job. The trainer was great and so is my manager. The rest of the team provide a great atmosphere and offer extra support if needed. 

The company benefits are also very good, much better then I’ve ever experienced with other employers and the whole company was provided with dominoes yesterday for hitting our targets.  Other benefits include free tea, coffee and breakfast as well as discounted gym membership. The free parking is a big bonus for me as I used to pay over £100 a month previously. 

I also like how E reward loyalty and service, for each year service we get an additional £1000 salary increase and 1 day holiday. 

Overall a very nice atmosphere to work, although it can be challenging at times it is very rewarding and I am glad I persevered. 

I joined E after being made redundant from another call centre in a different industry.

E is exactly like I was told at interview, i really like the postive atmosphere in the office. The team managers are great and supportive.

Training was a 4 week induction, 2 week mainly classroom based and 2 weeks on the call centre floor but with extra support. This was more than adequate and Alex the trainer was a brilliant trainer.

There are around 150 staff on with most people based in the call centre.

Shifts are either 8 till 4 or 12 till 8 and I work 1 Saturday in 3.

In a lot of ways E is like most other call centres, reasonable pay, shift patterns and fast paced work. Some members of my team have failed probabtion due to sickness. It was their third or fourth instance in a 6 month window. I personally have had one day off sick and they were fine with it.

Salary is average but benefits are good, extra holiday for service, great break area and they offer a nail service once a month that the company pays for!!!!

I have recently left this company after working for them for over 1 year.

I worked as a normal customer service representative, but so much more was expected.

You are expected to know all the in's and out's of every little thing whilst having very limited support. God forbid you need help off management, the floor has one manager who is experienced and knows what he is doing. Management have the same training as representatives do, so if you're not trained in something, why would they be?

There is an awful lot of couples in this office that work together and help each other which is a positive and a negative at the same time. 

Everybody starts on a wage of 17K and is promised yearly reviews with a promise of up to a 7% increase in pay, but i'm still yet to see someone get more than £100 annual increase.

10/10 would not recommend this company unless you like stress, have no social life and are willing to jump through hoops backwards for an un-affordable pay.
