I have worked in retail for over 20 years, working for some of the big brands. I had started to lose hope that I would ever work for a company where you are nothing more than a number.

When I joined the 'team' at ECD, it soon changed from one of the team to one of the family. Everyone at every level has so much time for each other.

Everyone is there to lend a hand, mutual respect and support is alive, as is all of the other company values, living and breathing them each and every day. 

Career progression opportunities, supported development and an exciting company strategy makes each and every day challenging in the most positive way!

If I every had my own company, this is how I would want it to be. A real pleasure being a recognised individual once again and I love working for us!

E-cigarette Direct was a lovely company to work for, with knowledgeable and approachable colleagues who made its atmosphere relaxed and collaborative. I only worked there for a few months because I had another opportunity lined up but this didn't stop me from making good relationships with many members of staff. During this period, managers also took the time to discuss where my future with the company might lie. 

The training I received was very detailed which made a big difference in my understanding and passion for the job. Some supervisors from different branches even encouraged me to ring them if I ever had a problem I couldn't solve. 

The only downside to this company investing in their employees so much was that management seemed reluctant to let go of staff whose time was maybe up, preferring to give them many second chances instead. When all said and done, I'd definitely recommend this job to a friend.

Where shall I start? 
ECD are a thriving family business who stay true to their values in this huge industry, and value their employees and customers. 
I have worked in retail my whole working career. 15 years +! I have worked with family businesses before and find that smaller companies struggle to keep up. ECD are growing steadily and are always on top. Making sure that their employees are safe and very much supported, at work and at home. I have so much respect for this company and want to work hard for them.
My area manager is brilliant. She listens and supports each individual. 
Staff training is fantastic and there are always perks with ECD! 
It is very much a TEAM company. From stores to Management and also warehouse.

Working at the store I am at is fantastic, everything about working here makes it the best job I have had. Very early into working here I had an opportunity to go away for two weeks to do something I have always wanted to do, very late notice, The company was more than happy to help me out and get me the time off to go there. There really are not many companies willing to do that. Everything else about working here is also great, my colleagues are brilliant and always brilliant to work with. Management are easy to have access to talk to if an issue arises, very personable too so it feels like youre working with a group of people, not just for a company. I was lucky as I had used e cigarettes for a while so I didnt need much training on the products, but for those without knowledge they offer very good training.

Best job I ever had.  A family run company where values, people and an open culture REALLY matters to senior management.  Everyone works as a team, with NO massive hierarchy atmosphere.  Respect others, and you will be respected in return!!  The management actually listen to your ideas, and they even have a "Thank you" e mail system where you can tell everyone in the company if someone has helped you.  A true "work hard, play hard" culture where your future depends on how much you want it to work - the growth of the industry, and therefore this company, will afford great opportunities in the future.
I was listened to, consulted with, asked for ideas, I felt involved, and I definitely felt valued.

Having worked in retail for many years, i was slowly becoming to realise that all retail was the same. However, when i joined E cigarette direct in May 2016 my opinion changed. The way this business is run is fantastic. They live up to their core values every day and you really do feel like your part of the ECD Family. Theres not one thing about working for this company i dislike. Even when your have a questions, suggestion, complaint or query, the office will work as hard as they can to resolve this. Best place to work in my eyes!

Worked for the business for years in multiple areas.

Overall, a good employee day to day, better than most.

If you’re looking for a long term opportunity or career I would avoid. Culture day to day is great but they won’t blink twice to see you off into the sunset .. loyalty and commitment doesn’t go far.

Sometimes you’re input is not really listened to, and at times comes across as ‘I know better’ which I feel like is a big failing point for this business.

Overall, great if you’re looking for a job but not a career you’re willing to put effort and commitment into which is a shame


It's a family run business and you can really feel it, even when you're working on the shop floor.  All of the staff across the company really do support each other. You can also earn great bonuses working on the shop floor.

E-Cigarette Direct is growing very fast, there is definitely potential to move up through the company.

Since I started working for ECD everybody has been so friendly, supportive and instantly wanted to get to know you. The atmosphere in store is great - staff are all willing to go above and beyond to help you succeed in your role.  Furthermore, the training received was excellent giving me the skills to improve myself both in and out of work. The ongoing support and reviews with area managers are also very good;  allowing for progression, to see how you are getting on and to give out any help needed.

Never a dull moment with customers and colleagues alike. Every day is fun because we make it fun together. No matter what store you work in, everyone gets on. Fantastic management from store management to directors and I personally have never worked anywhere else where your input is more valued. 
Training is brilliant and designed to develop all your skills you need to succeed whatever your role. Whatever the challenge, you are always supported.
