Been working for pla many years.  Excellent team. Brilliant manager of setting. Lovely relationships with children and parents. Seeing children grow and develop makes job worth while. As usual these days more and more paperwork.  Sadly child care in itself is starting to not exist as paperwork takes up time that should be spent with the children.  
It's about money now and budgets. 
Higher management NOT supportive when things go wrong. Some of these people like to push their weight around and do not appreciate how hard staff in settings work.  When support is asked for higher management seem to turn a deaf ear. Poor resources and budgets affect daily running of setting where staff have to sometimes buy equipment themselves for children to use.
Parents very supportive of staff and good relationships have been built over years.

I learnt more  from very experienced and hard working staff , management needs to find way how to speak to staff, arrogant attitude, never supporting staff and blaming staff for everything.Staff has to do even office work and if there is any issues trying to hide not dealing with . very bad ratio keeping, but you have to be quite 
Hardest part is when some colleagues avoiding work and leaving on those who work hard every day. Enjoyable part is interaction with children and seeing them develop build lovely relationship

The centre I’m at is currently run by 10 staff this is including managers. The centre offers information and support for families and children in need. The hours are from 8.30am till 5.00pm some times evenings and 1 in 4 saturdays this is term time as well so you do end up giving up a lot of your own family time and their isn’t much flexibility in working hours. The pay is dependent on the role I’m not qualified as of yet (will be level 2 in July) and I’m on minimum wage and the over time rate is the same we don’t get extra. 
It is hard work but also a good place to start and gain experience from. 
Plsa as a organisation are not very good and need to realise staff have families too and be more flexible. The staff and managers at the centre I work at are kind and friendly and will try and accommodate you where possible.

I enjoyed my time supporting children and staff while working with Langold Nursery.

However this company is very badly disorganised and lie to people, when they offer them positions that don't exist, because of funding problems.

This company's HR team were complete rubbish and lost me a position within the company, because of their sloppy way of working. The leadership team did not resolve my problems I had with their disgraceful and amateur run HR department.

I even tried to contact the CEO (with no response) and complained to the HR department, about how they lost me my position.

a typical Monday at work for me is to put away one of the food orders and making sure stock rotation is in place, after checking the delivery temps and any faults. Do a clean down of the kitchen, find out how many children are in for the day and if the dietary needs children are in. i will then cook dinner, pudding get tea and pudding ready for the day. after i have finished preparing all the food, another clean down is required to keep bacteria to a minimum, i then serve dinner to the children return to the kitchen to wash the floors when all this is done i will then start on the fresh food orders for the week and phone them through and thoroughly clean fridges/freezers ready for the stock to be delivered the next day.

A hard working ethos and daily job a you are working with a range of staff, children and families. Each day of different and that is what helps this hard role be fun.  Early years is underrated and although staff work hard to train and become qualified practitioners, we are under paid and under valued for the hard work that we do all year round.  We have to plan for children's individual needs and work with families from all back grounds. This job is rewarding with the work with the children and the families that we work with and that is why we so the job that we do. The hardest part of this job is the salary and the long hours, but we do it for the love of the children.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not much really.  The alliance took over my company and it wasn’t long after that I left. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being spoken to like rubbish, made to feel stupid and dealing with the managers. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good at all. Everyone was stressed and unhappy. So many good practitioners left around the same time I did or shortly afterwards. I would never work for the alliance again. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, being belittled in front of others and during the takeover there was some bullying tactics used by the management.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Getting to understand the inner workings of a preschool while also taking care of the children within the setting.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unfortunately I didn't have enough hours so had to source out work else where.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was amazing while watching the children discover there environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Watching the morning session of children making sure no bullying was taking place and helping with the midday meal or working of the afternoon session.

Every day was different working at Woodside, but it was a fun and interesting challenge. 
I absolutely loved the children and the staff were so helpful with getting me on my feet, to gain the best experience that I could.
Management were always on the ball in giving you feedback
The hardest part of this job was learning to cope with children that had tantrums, it intimidated me but in time I learned how to deal with the situation and turn it around in a positive way
The most enjoyable part of the job was using my imagination to create ideas of how to play the new games the little ones would invent

I have worked for the Pre-school Learning Alliance for 19 years.  
A typical working day involves meeting a variety of people including the general public and maybe the Local Authority or agencies we work alongside of.
I have gained an extensive amount of knowledge and skills during my time here and have taken part in numerous in house training programmes. 
The hardest part of my job has been to implement the redundancy process to some of the colleagues i work closely with.
I enjoy meeting new people, attending meetings and researching for additional funding opportunities for the organisation.
