Based on my experience as an employee, I would highly recommend East Surrey College. The College has a positive work culture with a strong focus on employee well-being and professional growth, making it a great place to work for individuals who value these qualities. 
It is a dynamic workplace where employees are constantly challenged and encouraged to further develop their knowledge and skills.  The work-life balance is a plus, with work from home days and flexibility. 
The management and leadership in MIS are exceptional. They provide clear guidance and support, and are actively involved in mentoring team members to help them grow. They create a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and professional development. They are very approachable and supportive towards their team-members. 
During my time there I've been provided with great and constructive feedback, various resources and webinars for which I am very grateful. There are various promotion opportunities as well. 
Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. Coworkers are willing to share their knowledge and expertise. It is a busy, dynamic and collaborative environment where everyone can learn from each other. The MIS team is not only professional, but also fun. The friendly work culture encourages teamwork, fosters friendship, and creates a positive and inclusive working environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people I work with include both coworkers, support staff, and management.  Furthermore, the students I teach make the job worthwhile.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The administrative duties I have to perform on top of my teaching.  These are a burden on me, and it takes valuable time I could spend instead on teaching and monitoring students' progress and achievements. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Informal, friendly, relaxed.  We are encouraged to discuss our problems, challenges, and concerns with management. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The day is divided between teaching and performing administrative tasks.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Flexibility with hours and if time off is needed. However, I feel that this is probably what they are forced to do to keep staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
1)Lack of communication from staff 2)staff safety not paramount with challenging students 3)not knowing whether we will get paid for the hoyrs we have worked- or indeed paid at all.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Positive discrimination is experienced and there is a lack of regard for staff well-being and morale.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, tiring, unrewarding.

I worked in ESC for over 2 years and I cannot stress enough the implication it had on my mental health in an extreme negative manner. The management team have ‘favourites’; they will promote/ advance individuals even without the appropriate qualifications. Teachers are not equipped enough, or even capable of teaching students the basics of a subject. The ESOL and English Dept are taught by amateur ‘wannabe’ teachers, who do not have the adequate qualification and training. Avoid this place at all costs, as no support is given from day one; the teacher training is a total joke, as it’s taught by incapable trainers, who PASS everyone even though plagiarism is committed.

Stressful 
As support staff you have to help beyond your working hours and at weekends and expected to help with jobs which isnt your role 
Support staff are not treated the same as teaching staff
You dont get to learn new skills
Management speak down at you and humilate you
Management dont know how to support staff
The working environment isn't great
No progression or pay rises 
Horrible atmosphere one big open office
No staff room
Staff are not supportive or welcoming to new people
HR are not supportive or care


A very toxic work culture unfortunately. There are senior managers who may look the part but lack positive cultural motivation, strategy and work ethics. Teaching staff really care about their work and students and they diligently try to keep up with a constant pressure to perform, complete a myriad of administrative tasks and give up increasing numbers of personal time without extra pay. On a plus, if you are tactical and emotionally strong enough to work there, you can do anything! Just make sure you know your worth and don’t accept any less.

Rushing to teach lesson after lesson , lesson prep time often taken up with manager sound bite meetings. No time for lunch, grab a coffee, left to go cold. Culture is to load on more and more . Teachers given subjects and levels they are not trained to teach and no support given. Same with management it's a small group of jobs for the friends. The hardest part of my job was working in  the toxic stressful environment. The best part of my job was the students many were more competent and educated than the staff.

Students are inspiring to be with ,love seeing them grow and learn and become responsible adults

Bad management that fail students and don't listen to staff ,putting students at risk

Toxic ,bullying behaviour ,runs like a business

Try to support the students as best as possible

I study Beauty Therapy Level 2 in East Surrey College .
We have work expeirence by doing treatments we have learnt while still doing the course and this helps gain more experience and practice with the treaments when we learn in the practical sessions in the salon.
It is a good environment of learning skills of working with other people in the working environment.
I do not get paid because it is my course that im doing for my year 
13 before i go off to University next year septeember.

Normal day, I learn nil from them, terrible management, my co-workers as normal, some days they was OK, others days they not. The hardest part of the job is when you have to prepare all the construction materials’ for all the students more than 3 times a day. Every day alone + your other responsibilities’ all of them at the same time. The most enjoyable part of the job was when I go to help others department that was deferent from construction as painting decorating, pluming, etc.
