From Agent perspective -you can't never help customers or deliver service as everything stuck for weeks in cases system, customer can't reach for months live person, they finally send complaints and leave the company or fight with help of OBUNDSMAN. Nobody knows anything as there is no real experts, just random people trained for 4 weeks from useless knowledge, which will anyway   won't help with live calls. There is never one answer to questions as this company has no clear guidance. Agents are allowed for whole 7 min break during the day except lunch. Forget about making coffee or toilet, it can spoil statistics! Team Leaders get money/bonuses for your statistics but you don't . Late shift is a joke -you gotta stay as long phone is ringing to finish the queue. No emails or other interactions with customers, when you finally have one day of phone work instead of writing emails you must insert templates! Other colleagues are disinterested in help, don't want to speak with customers, refuse to explain. One call has to be around 6-7 min plus 1-2 minutes wrap up and go grab another. You can keep customers on hold, you can't do anything really because there is nobody to help you. I worked 4 months remotely. I went thru stress and frustration as the only help you get during first weeks is main chat on Teams. One person  support all new agents and there is no time to answer all questions ,so you cry and feel embarrassed because you don't know what to say to customer. Customers call you names, call you scam, are demanding and always unhappy. Never again.!!! 

The staff are nice and friendly, but most share the same view that its an awful place to work. Staff are expected to do some much work with little appreciation or thanks from anyone. They make you go through millions of hoops to get a pay rise. But the pay rise is so small it's not wroth the time you have to put in out of work to get it. 

Lower management are expected to do management work they shouldn't really doing, plus the huge work load that is passed down from above doesn't help. And that's how the company works! The CEO has his ideas and he thinks they're all amazing, barely listening to anyone's opinion, and forces it down the line to management and middle management. Having a huge effect on staff, as they're expected to do all the work and keep the customer's happy; which most aren't. I wouldn't be either, overcharged and having to wait months for a reply. 

The CEO says the profits go back into the company. They go to him and his football club. Staff are paid poorly, work benefits have been cut back, no longer a free gym membership as it costs too much. Cutting back so much from staff and expecting them to work harder for less. 

I wouldn't recommend working here - don't waste your time they make it look and sound amazing. They only good thing is finishing at 4 on a Friday.

I got employed for 1 specific job role. 

I worked that role for 2 weeks.. 

I then got moved to another job role, worked that for 3 weeks. 

You'll be surprised here, I got moved again to the contact centre - from the interview date, I told them I specifically didn't want to work in the contact centre and they agreed they wanted me and will meet my needs.

I gave it my best shot but the support for struggling staff members is AWFUL! If you ask a colleague for help they will either bat you away to someone else or give you the most unhelpful information ever, and will not let you pass the call to someone else.

 -the contact centre has a underlying aura of passive aggression, and the management are only power hungry and will have a patronising chat with you if you are not reaching targets. The head of the contact centre walks around in his socks, and the staff members took drugs at the Christmas do at Westonbirt School. 

I was never signed off on writing emails because I wrote them 'too formally'. So imagine a busy contact centre, calls queing up, and I have to call a team leader over to read my emails....And then getting penalised for writing 'I have' instead of 'I've'. Shocking.

Flipping fantastic place to work if you're a moron, I sympathise with the customers having to deal with such shocking customer service procedures.

Absolutely do not take up working here if you decide to get temporary work. While the pay for temporary work is good, the way you are treated is not. They have little consideration for their temporary staff, offering next to no training, expecting you to be on the ball before you even start the job. Not only do they treat their customers poorly, leaving questions/complaints emails sitting in their contact centre for months, to be passed around by everyone in there and never be done, but they will treat you poorly as well. So-called supervisors and managers are unprofessional, taking to favouritism, and talking down on temporary workers, not only that, but they will lead you to believe that everyone on your team is losing their job, when in reality, it’s just you, and the rest of your team is being scattered elsewhere. The CEO has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. His staff don’t take to criticism well, going so far as to remove the person who criticised them, and place them in a different department. Whether you meet targets or not, you are still treated badly, and when you work quicker than others, you’re made to feel like everything you’ve done is useless and sub-par. For the sake of your own sanity, do not work here. It doesn’t get better, and it’s completely mind numbing to work for a company so unprofessional and carelessly led.

A typical Day at work would be either carrying out a scheduled maintenance or fault finding. We usually work in teams of two or three people. 
Over the years I have worked with some great engineers and gained alot of experience, not just on wind turbines but in other forms of engineering and even life. I have been on alot of training courses while at ecotricity. I would say that the training when I joined was a higher standard than what it has been for newer employees recently however.
The management is often the most dissapointing part of working at this company. Often organisation is poor and this causes inconviences to the technicians. Some incidents in the past have been dealt with poorly and this has been known to lower morale. 
The hardest part of the job can be hectic scheduling and working late on faults that very little is known about.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the variety, travelling around the UK, and working with good colleagues.

In my experience, a typical day at work in the call centre includes signing into your computer and dealing with a 9 hour stream of backlogged, poorly handled customer complaints/queries. All while navigating the long-winded, backward and outdated computer software. Training on these systems is depressing and staff adopt a blasé 'you'll get used to it' attitude. 

Some genuine staff members, although my impression is that most don't really care about green energy and can't explain to customers why ecotricity is one of the most expensive energy providers. Certain staff in the company seem inexperienced for their role. Social bias rife - middle management who have climbed the ladder feel entitled and poor organisation is not uncommon. Minimum career progression and minimum wage. 

Redundancies are common and staff turn over is high, the company seems to be dissolving. Take these as red flags and consider all options before applying.

It was the most horrific company that I've ever worked for.  
The training was bad. 
The new members of staff are thrown to the wolves as they start taking phone calls immediately. More training was out of question. One to ones were never held and the feedback that was provided was misleading.  
There was no job security. The team leaders and supervisors were rude and tried to sound brighter than they were.
A typical day at work was extremely stressful and unbalanced. I didn't learn much at all. The workplace culture is very old fashioned. The hardest part of the job was letting people down as the company was lousy at providing solutions. There was no joy in working there. 
Avoid this company at all costs. It will save your life and you will probably something better in the short term. 

My time working at Ecotricity will not be looked back upon well. I started off in one department for less than a week before being moved to another straight away. The upper echelons of management changed a number of times, and the companies aims and objectives were changed each months so there was no real drive or goals for employees. I have learning difficulties, and these were not at all supported or helped during my time there. I was often told not to write ‘too formally’ and often had to call customers several times in a month even when explained to why we couldn’t call them.

Due to the amount of new staff always being recruited I should have seen it as a warning sign of things to come. The training and aura around the place is depressing. The high staff turnover really summarises it.

Never received any formal training in my role and was expected to find out everything by asking. This is not always feasible as sometimes you do not know what questions you need to ask, nor do you know if you need to ask anything at all. 
The working environment is fantastic and everyone as a result is very supportive and easy to get along with, but that won't help you when you are trying to do something important and are unsure about the task at hand, which is made worse due to the fast-paced nature of the work that means you or your colleague might not even have time to go through what questions you might have or other similar issues.

An ‘ethical’ green company who have no morals, understand of mental health and employ several people to work for them but actually have no work to complete. 

Asking for more work is seen as a negative thing, team leaders pick and choose who they like and not based on the work they complete. 

Would only recommend people to work here if you like sitting around all day with nothing to do and staring into space for 8 hours a day.
