Wages are above minimum wage but the negatives are worth mentioning if you want a job here.
Sadly, hard work, a good attitude, punctuality and perfect attendance seems to account for little when it comes to being offered a permanent position.
It is more rewarding to try and get into the good books of ones in none yellow hi vis vests if you want their recommendations.

You have to turn up 15 minutes before (unpaid) your shift begins and sit in a canteen waiting for a brief that doesnt actually happen until your shift is due to begin.
This doesnt seem to apply to certain ones who regularly turn up when they feel like even though they wear a blue or orange vest and should be setting the lead.

There is no air con and only a few fans (which the trainers will use on their own desks).  Floor staff are at the point of passing out during heat waves.  The budget will not stretch to making the temperature bearable for the workers.  It seems that is not important.

Benefits include targets that ARE possible if you work hard (but dont expect this to be acknowledged) and a clean canteen and toilet facilities (the cleaner works hard and deserves a good mention).
The work is not too physically heavy if you are fit and healthy.  (Some exceptions to this can apply if you are loading/unloading goods or putting totes on the rollers.) 
If you are a temp, your service may well end abruptly when you arrive for work and are immediately sent home with no advance notice.  
This will obviously be when their orders are no longer behind.

They will continue to hire even until their last week of using temps so newly hired recruits are misled into thinking they have a few weeks/months of work when it is merely 2 or 3 days!

A typical day at work involved checking the cafe area for stock and cleanliness before the first clients arrived. Friendly and prompt service would ensure that the clients visit was pleasant and relaxing.Working in a team meant being organised and calm as well as thinking ahead. Working in the shop needed similar skills. A friendly outgoing personality with a liking for people as well as the ability to advise and help people to choose an item that would bring them pleasure was important. My co-workers were off a similar ilk as above  and we were like a large family. The hardest part of the job was to deal with awkward customers but if you were able to alter the situation and ensure that the customer left with a positive outlook towards their visit to Emma Bridgewater then this would also be the best part of the job.
At Emma Bridgewater, I learned to be organised, efficient, adaptable as well as being able to work solo and as as part of a team.

I was hired as a Christmas temp to help cover the exceptionally busy demands of the festive period, with duties focused primarily on email and wholesale enquiries. The Customer Service team are truly amazing. Incredibly  supportive, and nothing is ever too much trouble.
With over 30 years’ experience in customer service, I can honestly say it has been a genuine joy to work here. Although I’m sad to be leaving, I always knew the role was temporary, and at no point was I made to feel any less valued than long-standing permanent employees. If you’re ever given the opportunity to work here, take it,  it’s absolutely glorious.


I enjoyed my time working here. People are on the whole friendly and you do feel like a member of quite a unique group of Staff, given where you work. 
The Customer base is very unique and not like any other "Tea and Cake" Café. 
The days were steady with busier lunch periods. 
The benefits and salary is good and they were flexible and understanding in most cases.
The team works well together, but sometimes a lack of communication between supervision and staff can create cracks or internal issues that aren't dealt with that can cause divide between department at times.

The warehouse is a horrific place to be. Dark dank and dirty ! The management are a do as I say not as I do culture . They let temps go with no warning even when I came in on a sat morn as forced overtime they held up back after the brief for the day and let us go ! 
The staff have to go in 15 mins earlier than needed and that’s unpaid ! It’s a culture of faster faster faster more more more and if you don’t manage it you’re hauled in the office to be asked why …. They have trainers there that’s are so lazy but are quick to moan at others for not doing the work when they stand around chatting . Hateful place and if they need a temp again they won’t get me ! 

Loved my time here...never having done this type of work before, I gained valuable experience that will greatly help me in the future. Worked with some great colleagues who were very friendly and welcoming, giving help and advice when needed. It was very physical and demanding work due to the time of year, with many orders coming in daily, so it was full on most of the time, and this is what gave you a sense of achievement at the end of the day. All in all it was a very rewarding experience, and I shall be forever thankful for the opportunity to have worked with dedicated staff and management.

How this company makes any money I do not know from the production to warehouse to delivery it's one massively flawed system.
There would be no need for customer services if the rest of the departments did there job properly. QA checks would let anything through, temp warehouse staff would send plates instead of mugs etc managers not interested more interested in a gossip.
Feels like home is the motto and that's right but such a relaxed atmosphere makes it to cosy. Get rid of management and start again. Was also made aware of bullying across all departments. Not great at all.

Very corrupt establishment. If you do not get along with the management you will be removed from the business. I was injured at work with no investigation taking place and was forced to have 2 days off work. On returning to work I was told my employment had been terminated. There was no development or reviews of any sort and unless you personally know the shift managers you will not last long at the company.
The work load is too much for such a small business and the general consensus is that if you don't push yourself to the brink of fainting you will be sacked.

A typical day at work included going in early and working hard until we finished. I enjoyed the hours of work. 

At Emma Bridgewater I learned how to make pottery from liquid slip. I learnt how to manage time effectively and how to organise my work load. 

Management were very helpful when you went to them with a problem. 

Workplace culture was a very friendly place and was nice to be a part of. 

The hardest part of the job was getting the pottery done on time to my highest standards. 

The most enjoyable part of the job was the hours.

Morning meeting, notices and work allocation/area given.
Work started straight away, fairly fast paced but not stressful if you made your counts needed. Shopfloor management approachable and felt listened too if had any issues, higher management you were sadly invisible too. Good work banter and overtime offered at busiest periods and also to work every other Saturday at busy times.
