Although FCMS deliver core NHS services which on the face of it may seem quite normal, it isn't a stagnant NHS organisation.  It values its staff, listens to what you have to say but also allows people autonomy to go and 'do it'!

I left uni (as a mature student) and went to work there and was basically supported and nurtured to work though to senior management level.  The reason I decided to move on was that, literally, I felt I had reached a ceiling and wanted to do something different to give me some more strings to my bow.

They offer a variety of environments to work in, office, telephony, face to face etc.  You will certainly gain massive amounts of skills as well as work with a really decent bunch of people.

If you are a millennial with uncapped ambition or someone who is looking for a second job, FCMS can offer it all.

Great company to work for. Good working environment and relaxed atmosphere. everyone is friendly and helpful and plenty of opportunities to grow and change roles. Help is always there if you need it

Colleagues there are so welcoming and amazing, great work atmosphere from other receptionists and care practitioners. Management is not the greatest, as some of them do not seem to know how things run, can give contraindicating information, and can sometimes micromanage. If management can improve, it would be a nice place to work. However, it is physically exerting, so not a job for someone who struggles to move around. 

Negatives: Low morale, high turnover of staff, long hours, favouritism, arrogant middle managment,  unrealistic workloads, insufficient training, poor organisation, taken for granted.

Positives: Some cheerful colleagues and some job satisfaction, it was nice working with the public/patients but soul destroying not being able to provide a better service.

Providing the caller with information, friendship and advice.

Listening to the callers with a caring attitude and sympathetic view.

Callers phoned for advice and sometimes just because they were lonely.

Work can be stressful, the management structure in changing due to people having left and new coming in , lots of changes happening but not much instruction to go with it.

The team are fantastic, hard work but lots of job satisfaction
The Primary Care team is a fast paced and ever changing environment, lots to learn but lots of opportunities
