Strange organisation to work with, they talk a great talk but their actions don't live up to the talk. The role has zero advancement opportunities and indeed there is often an apparent lack of enthusiasm for staff to advance hence staff turnover is quite high in lower roles. Staff are often given false hope when recruited leading to early dissatisfaction in their appointment. Instructions are frequently I'll thought through leading to corrections, contradictions and confusion. Staff are often then criticised for being confused over the chaotic guidance. 

The FSB is a member-led, volunteer organisation set up to ensure small businesses are treated fairly and equally when it comes to business policy matters. It was set up in the 1970.s and has since grown to become a formidable lobbying organisation, tasked with fighting for equal rights for smaller businesses so they an develop and grow as required.The organisation was mentioned on several occasions in the 2018 Chancellors budget speech, indicating how effective the FSB has become at presenting competing evidence to affect policy positively.

I am the Borough Action Group Leader in Hackney. I work with small business owners and other stake holders, such as the local authority to set the business agenda. I run a monthly business breakfast and women in business evening. It is very rewarding work and I get to work with some very special people. The hardest part of the job may be to meet with councillors to talk about what we do, and the most enjoyable part is networking with other businesses and stakeholders.

No direction, HQ & RSM have no clue...You have to pay for your own appointments, so it works out £760 for appointments and £300 for fuel to start the month. So you need £1070 to pay each month and try to net work as much as possible to earn £2000pm net £940 for all the hassle.

Not worth it in the end. 12 of us started throught out the country selling the FSM membership, not one person left after 14 month.

Don't waste your time.

Responsible for chasing arrears of regional memberships and ensuring all payments for current members were kept up to date.  This involved dealing with direct debits and renewing lapsed memberships. I was also responsible for all the courtesy calls to members in our area to try and upsell or renew their memberships.

Low credibility and duplication of services offered elsewhere. Out of date business practices with an emphasis on cold calling by phone and just door to door sales. Unprofessional.

Hard working call centre undergoing a lot of changes at present. They are looking to grow massively over the next couple of years but need to interact more from a senior level with staff on the ground.

Training, communication and CRM system extremely poor. Senior management lacking leaders to drive the organisation  forward and modernise . Commission system good for the first 3 months then unachievable.
