Unfortunately the work culture can be odd, because some people are given preferential treatment, over others, sometimes because of background or if they are friends, or family, or if you know the management/managers/tec ops. Or if they like or fancy you. 

Management are a disappointment, because they don't listen to the workers. If some people get new jobs within the company some are bullied/ or are not communicated to. There are rude managers/ Tec ops that think because they have a red hat that they don't need to listen to people who don't have a red hat. 

Some managers shout at people for the slightest mistakes, they need to learn how to talk to people. 

Sometimes, the hardest part of the job is having to put up with nonsense, from people within the company/managers. Some good points are there are some good people that do communicate and do get on well with, some are funny and make people laugh. Enjoyable part is going home after doing 12 hours. 

The company needs to sort itself out. 

This is a horrible place to work. When I started,  was optimistic about working in a team within a well known company.
Everyone was lovely, but the distribution  management is dreadful. They need a different career path. 

The workload was okay to start, until other team members fobbed their work onto me and I had so many accounts to manage with deadlines. There’s no benefits, just free biscuits which is definitely not enough for the amount of stress there was in the office. 
During my time, there was a high turnover with staff, that doesn’t surprise me with the shambles it is. I’ve noticed they’re using a recruitment team to hire people. It just goes to show their internal recruitment team is just as bad. 

Do not work in the Distribution Team at this company! 



What is the best part of working at the company?
Little to nothng. Thwre are some genuinely nice and helpful people owrking withing the bakery floor, but that is pretty much where it ends

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. Every level of. No one relly knows that they are supposed to be doing, maintenance of machinery/equipment is non existent and no support for the workforce

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, in a word. People are actively played against each other, management are as busy stabbing each other in the back as doing thier job which tends tontrickle down. Morale is a whisper of a rumour and no more

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, poorly managed and demoralising

My time at Burtons was a mixed bag to say the least. Lots of ups and lots of downs. Machines are faulty. Sometimes unfair treatment, managers would increase the speed on the machines, making them break more easily. Might put you on a job that you don't like doing. Healthcare isn't the best either.

When there is, loads of overtime available, weekly pay (at the moment), work in a team, can have a laugh, can go quick depending in where your working. Decent Breaks, casual clothes, and loads of positions available to apply for.

Overall its a mixed back, if your looking for a happy job, dont like physically work, then Burtons probably isn't the best place. If your after weekly pay, a job thats easy enough when not made complicated, why not give it a try?

Lots of nice people but some very cliquey groups also

Some of the fellow employees in the department are very lazy and don’t like new people coming in.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic from some people who don’t like you( for no clear reason) other than for their own ends

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Easiest job I’ve ever had, always looked for stuff to do as well as the planned maintenance, kept busy but no stress at all except for lazy people who wouldn’t do anything and didn’t want you to either in fear of making them look bone idle

Made to work like machines with total disregard to health and safety. Higher management and HR are totally clueless. HR are so dismissive of any problem you may have they are totally out of their depth. The factory manager is running the place into the ground everyone is stressed and treated terribly the only good thing is the wage but its toxic.

My immediate supervisor and manager were brilliant. Shame there was HR. They messed up a good job. Making false promises and not delivering. Too busy trying to make themselves look important. Claiming a negotiated starting salary was a payrise. No place for advancement and constantly dismissed only to find the ideas were take up later as theirs. Shame

Clean as you go environment. Strict adherence to health and safety. Communication between departments is very critical.  Some heavy lifting and pushing involved. Majority of the management is very supportive.

Place where you work with varriety of people and meet different culture. The enviroinment changes are fast and it is very challinging to achieve the best results.
