What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving the company, my family life was instantly better without gainford group in it.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The complete lack of proper planning from management and having to knowingly do a bad job because that’s what they want a cheap low quality job no pride to be taken in the work because they have no pride in it themselves. Also they do not honour there word, was told I would get fuel money for certain amounts of travel yet they found excuse after excuse as to why they wouldn’t give it no matter how many miles over the threshold I did.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and depressing where management is concerned.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get sent to a job that I know how to do them get told to do it wrong and do a patch job with incorrect materials that would fail. This was on a daily basis.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I could  choose  to work 3 days  a week  but  nothing  else. 
  They do not pay  bank  Holidays  differently, 
when  you  are on probation, pay you with  minimum  wage  ,even though  the  other  colleagues  have a few  peny more,, in general, communication with  administrative staff  is quite  difficult because  they  are  less  approachable and friendly. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In general  is enough  to  work  for them  and  this  is  a stress . For the moment  I  just  staying  because  I  need  a job and  is convenient.  Doesn't  mean  that  I  will  go with  the  first  occasion.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I have worked  as  a carer  for about  2 months  now  and I  have some  experience  behind  and I  can  say  that  like  everywhere else  people's are diverse with  good  and  bad  specimens. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy,I try  to  do my job  properly with out  any complaints.

Without a doubt the worst place i have ever worked. The home  is terribly understaffed and poorly organised and very unsafe. The acuity of the residents is very high and you get absolutely no help from management, the manager spends most of her time sitting drinking coffee an eating takeaway food with the secretary  with no regard  for the residents  or the staff. They will change your off duty without asking at the last minute as well. You don't get a proper induction or training and are just expected to get on with it but woe betide you if you make a mistake. The carers are great but understaffed and poorly organised. 


I have had the pleasure of witnessing the exceptional care provided at Gainford Care Home, where every detail seems perfectly executed. Their proactive and thoughtful approach to addressing any issues that arise truly sets them apart. The staff is attentive and highly skilled, ensuring that each resident’s needs are met with the utmost respect and compassion. Similarly, Lindisfarne Care Home in Hartlepool also demonstrates an outstanding commitment to quality care. It’s clear that every resident is treated with dignity, kindness, and professionalism. It’s a relief to know that loved ones are in such capable hands, receiving the best possible care in a nurturing environment.

My time at the home was alright. 

But no chances of progression unless you fit in with the "clique". Staff regularly gossip and spread rumours about one another in the staff room and on the floors while with the service users.

The manager is married to one of the senior carers, meaning that if you dont keep her happy the manager comes down on you.

The owners are unwilling to pay you for ANY extra time you have to spend there, and expect you do constantly add extra work into your already hectic day. 

More recently has to run on very little staff, meaning things are even harder for all staff than ever before.

Initially impressed and happy, but as time went on the shortcomings soon became apparent.  The usual short staffing but more concerning the way some staff spoke to, and treated residents. Residents received minimal care, and I use the term care very loosely, more of a task oriented production line.  No personalisation or individuality, one size fit all.  Unresponsive management and those above seemed only interested in money, often ran out of the essentials eg incontince pads,  Loved the residents and that is the only thing that kept me going.

Really do not know why people have bad things to say about this company. It is very clear that the previous reviews are very millicious towards this home and management as they copy and pasted. If people leave then move on!!!! Yes home is a little dated but that does not prevent the staff from doing a fantastic job and believe me the residents get excellent care. Management will also go the extra mile to support her staff. For activities, we'll there is always something going on from movie days to entertainers, arts and crafts etc. Dont take no notice of the negativity, go and find out for yourself.

Loved helping the residents but management at this place is shocking they basically dont care whatsoever to them you are just a body in the place nightshift and dayshift were never a team it was like we were against each other the residents dont get the care they should get the food is awful considering how much they pay to live there management dont seem to care you have a life if they put you in for shifts you cant do they dont move them around i for one would never put any of my family in 1 of their homes 

So not care about your home life as long as they are staffed, don't care how many shifts you do or how tired you are you can work 7 days a week and make 1 mistake they will have you and put blame on you for picking the shifts up. Don't expect not to be called on your holidays or days off. Company is always short and you get sent to work in other homes very regularly. They do not care about you're health and they do not care about you're family and friends.
Would not recommend due to working understaffed

Everything you will be overworked and working for a company that doesn't appreciate you whatsoever.

Horrible environment. Very negative. The owners/managers have no respect for ya whatsoever. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long and no teamwork. Probably having to do everyone else's jobs.
