I don't have a typical day in work.  I work with the most complex and hard to reach people - everyone I work with has multiple and complex needs.  On any given day I can deal with multiple people all with multiple needs and issues.  It is my role to not only assist individuals into being able to access support but to also challenge systems of work and bring together agencies in a more collaborative way of working.  
I've learned that individuals are judged on the decisions that they make, however these decisions are not always made because they want to make that decision, there will be a multitude of factors influencing individuals ability to make informed decisions and many individuals are strongly influenced by events from childhood.  
Systems are developed enough to incorporate the human factor in and are often very medical in approaches.  
The management i have offer clinical supervision and support which is invaluable.  
The hardest part of my role is having to 'switch off' when I leave work, however my family and work life balance ensure that I can do so. 
I love it when the individuals I'm working with feel empowered and make 'good' decisions for themselves.

As a former street scene officer,  I can give an honest opinion. HBC has some wonderful staff, however, at divisional manager level, within the open space services division, there is a lot of bullying and fraud goes on. Our divisional manager was someone you had to please, or you were gone. He ruled like hitler and was proud of his bullying ways! Bragging about them. He belittled women to other colleagues, mocked LGB colleagues to other managers and even mocked colleagues who had sadly passed away,   It’s not a place to work if you want a respectful environment. when a manager stood up to him, they were sent packing too. The work ethics which stem from him are not ones that helped us to get the best from our staff. He is now a director. So no doubt the whole place will go to pot soon! I worked here for decades and it was always a good team in the office. But we were well aware of the threats from upstairs. 

It appears that the council are only interested in hiring casual workers as a means to not have to create full or part time contracts.

To add insult to injury with the fact that majority of the facilities have closed down due to the COVID-19 lockdown, they are not willing to pay ANY casual worker any part of the 80% of earnings with the government job retention scheme. Therefore, people who use a casual wage as a main form of income are being penalised for it. 

It seems somewhat farfetched that casual employees that have a vital role in the running of certain facilites and who are keeping things afloat are facing this kind of discrimination. They are losing out on what should be a government grant to help EVERY worker. 

Will not work for again in any capacity.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not a good place to work, cleaky and management is the only people counting. Others are expendible. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No support or training provided. Set up to fail. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Divisive and discriminatory, no real team relationships encouraged or supported. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Do your job and get out as soon as possible. Incompetence and mistakes, no accountability, especially from management.

I worked in oak meadow for a year and a half, at my interview I was told I could work three longs shifts as I was contracted 37 hours to start to then be told it’s short shift which would not work with child care held it out for a year and a half pled with management for nothing to be done, management changed and still nothing was offered to drop hours and pick a different rota which none of there had and sequencing to them regarding set days in nursery for my daughter. There is meant to be a childcare policy within the council but there was never any help given to me 

I've been a cleaner now for 6 years , no regrets best company I've worked for so far . My boss supervisor are great no issues at all , could not ask for more they are always there if we need anything.  The group of ppl I work with are great as i  have a few contracts with the council,  I'm a really hard worker and love a challenge,  they can rely on me . The pay is better than most can't complain. So overall I am proud to work for the council and love to show my uniform off . Hopefully this will be my long term job .

I do get shifted from one job to another, but there is a plus side to that.  Because you never get bored. You get to meet different people, and learn new skills along the way. And pick up some new tips of the trade. The hardest part of the job, is balancing the sheets, keeping productivity down. The Enjoyable part is when everyone enjoys what I have cooked or baked. Management are very good, if I have any problems they are there on the other end of the phone if I need them. Which is often.

I enjoyed working at Halton Borough Council., the part I worked for was the Telehealth Care Department. It was all about making sure customers were happy with the service they was receiving. The management was great to work beside, always made sure you was getting on OK before anything else. The hardest part of the job was ringing people as they thought it was nuisance calls most of the time, but the best part was getting to speak to lovely customers who was happy with the service.

Reception duties
Dealing with telephone queries about eligibility for Free School Meals
Ordering/distributing stationery and various other duties
Scanning documents to upload to CareFirst for Social Services
Calling clients from a list sent by Job Centre Plus to ensure we have their correct details and to arrange an appointment,
Sorting inbound post and sending to the addressee.
Prepare and frank post ready for collection.
