Not a company I would recommend to anyone unless you are really experienced in the field you are applying for and are able to find your way around yourself when you start. But ask yourself the question is the pay really worth it as its not as great as they blag it to be. They hire anyone no matter what experience you may have, this isn't really a positive as the people you may work with have no idea what they're doing or will cause you to fall behind on your work. Unfortunately they struggle to find quality workers due to their pay scale, some jobs they would pay really well for but others they don't pay very well or pay below the competition rate. Not 100% sure about the benefit system as no one has ever showed me and anyone you ask is as clueless as you.

Resourcing is only a fraction of the issues working here, their systems are really out of date and have a lot of downtime. The downtime isn't great as they expect you to keep on top of everything even of the systems are down. Sometimes they can be really hard to work with as you're not able to get reports on all the basic information like the number of invoices awaiting to be processed. They've tried to bring in new systems but they don't work as the work volume is too big. This is why they're chucking more bodies rather than investing in new systems.

The job work-life balance depends on several factors like what role you're applying for, what department you're working in and whether you are managing people or a project. Most roles have a decent work-life balance where you'll start and finish the time you were contracted for. Some roles like management or project have a terrible work-life balance as you can find yourself working a minimum of 60 hours per week. Management is due to the lack of competency of staff as many people who are hired will not have the experience needed to work independently and you're expected to do their work and yours to meet deadlines. Project is just a complete mess, there is little to no planning as they just walk straight into it and expect to fix the issues when they cross that bridge.

The management depends the same as above. If you're going to work in Purchase Ledger Mainland Europe Project Team then good luck as there is no management there, or if there is then it's going be people who don't know what they're doing. But this is not everywhere in the company, some departments have really great managers who know what they're doing and are really supportive. The departments I would avoid is project as they're very oblivious to problems and would expect you to do overtime for free. But definitely do your research before joining.

The culture has turned corporate rather than social as there's a lot of politics in management. But regarding people they do still try to maintain a social culture and majority of the people their are really fun. During my time working there I haven't had an issue with anyone.

Overall IVC isn't the worst company to work for but it wouldn't be my first choice. I think this company needs quality workers but they're really behind their times regarding the pay scales. It is a okay place to work for about a year and they do offer hybrid working depending what your department policy offers. Everything really does depend on what you job you're applying for. The one place to avoid is Purchase Ledger Mainland Europe Project Team as its labelled as the worst department in the company. I would recommend to check your other options before taking a job in IVC as its not everyone's cup of tea hence why this is titled 'Its like marmite you either love it or hate it'. Some people fit in really well but others just leave and that's why they no longer do exit interviews. I was probably in the same position as you when you're researching about this job and I wished I believed the other reviews before stepping a foot into IVC. But really think about this before you walk into it as it's a 6 weeks notice period if you change your mind. But do consider the other reviews before taking this job.

I love working for easipetcare.  I am a manager and I do still work here, and some might say that I'm required to say this, but not at all as I too am an employee.  

I have read the other reviews from other practices and it's sad that many are unhappy, but of course all reviews are very subjective, and not necessarily balanced. There are many challenges in the veterinary industry with a short supply of staff, but I know that easipetcare, like others are trying their best to avoid existing staff being caught in the crossfire.

However, from an employees perspective, I can honestly say this is the most functional company I've worked for having worked for many private companies. I have a good work/life balance. I have to do extra hours sometimes by either staying late or doing work at weekends, but this is common in most jobs. There is good support from Head office so you're not on your own for the accounting and personnel functions. The managers from all 7 practices meet regularly to support and encourage eachother and offer advice to get through challenging situations. 
The company will always try to reward financially but when that isn't possible, they will reward by sending chocolates, or pizzas, or team events.  
Day to day there is lots of additional training support with lunch & learns. 
For those who work hard and show promise, they are encouraged to take up additional certificates or to join one of the IVC CPD courses which allows the individual to progress and eventually move up the career ladder in the direction they want to go.  
Being part of the IVC network now gives me scope to move professionally within the group and with 900 practices there's few limits.

The Streatham team are fantastic.  They work together and really care about why they're here - to help animals. There is pride in the service they offer and this shows in the client reviews our practice gets. 
I'm proud to work for easipetcare and knowing we're offering a low cost option to owners who may otherwise not afford care for their pets, gives me job satisfaction.

I worked at a veterinary clinic recently acquired by IVC Evidensia, where the initial struggle to secure permanent staff led us to rely on hiring locum staff. However, our autonomy in this matter was later restricted when the company introduced a new policy centralising the locum staff recruitment process. Under this policy, the responsibility for finding locum staff shifted to the company's central pool, and our direct communication with the responsible HR staff became increasingly challenging. Unfortunately, they consistently provided last-minute notifications, informing us that they couldn't secure anyone, leaving us without a vet, a nurse, or both.

The area director, lacking veterinary and clinic experience, treated us like numbers rather than understanding the unique challenges we faced. Despite in-person visits, the focus remained on meeting targets, and crucial support was absent during difficult times. Last-minute decisions and a lack of collaboration added stress to an already demanding environment.

Ultimately, the disappointment stems from a disconnect between the area director's directives and the clinic's actual needs. A more collaborative and supportive approach is crucial for the success of both the clinic and its staff.

Furthermore, since IVC took over our business, there were restrictions on where we could purchase clinic necessities—from stationery to clinical equipment. We were constrained to buy from their preferred suppliers, where IVC received better rebate rates. However, these products weren't necessarily more cost-effective or of better quality for us. In the end, we found ourselves spending more on certain items, adding unnecessary expenses to our already strained budget.

Professional environment with high standards of care and SOPs, good opportunities for improvement however the working environment is very strict and particular with how they operate.

In the short term I worked as a night veterinary care assistant covering a maternity my first impressions of the night team weren't positive with myself feeling under pressure just being in their presence feeling anxious and worried when making a mistake which made me feel very uncomfortable over the course of my employment. I felt like I couldn't connect and co-operate well with my team due to these issues and preferred to undertake my tasks independently. The other night VCA I worked with was highly judgemental upon realising I hadn't done a certain task before in my previous VCA roles but explained to them that the roles and responsibilities of a VCA can vary from different veterinary clinics.

One particular RVN I worked with was very rude and abrupt in addition to being highly outspoken and patronising towards me. On many occasions I overheard her discussing inappropriate conversation subjects unsuitable for work and making certain gestures that were just rude and offensive such as clicking her fingers to get my attention.

The team appeared to have a very unwelcoming social circle with a lot of gossip.

Management can be highly critical of you making simple mistakes and are quite unforgiven for second chances and self improvement.

I owned the practice that I am now Clinical Director of and decided to sell to improve my work/life balance.  My practice had been my first 'baby' (before I had the two-legged kind), and I was not willing to sell to the highest bidder - I had invested too much both emotionally and physically to sell to just anyone.  I had a few offers from corporates, but I am very glad I chose for our surgery to join IVC.  They are forward-thinking, make decisions from the ground up, rather than enforcing rules across the board, they take note of what those of us 'on the ground' have to say, and come up with solutions to help problems across the group.  They have stayed true to their word of keeping us as independent as we can be, considering we are now part of a very large group.  Not much has changed for our staff or for our clients and we have been able to grow the surgery beyond what we could have done as an independent.  The Central Support Team have been invaluable in providing financial advice, payroll advice, HR advice and recruitment help.  IVC stay true to their values, and although at times there can be frustrations, these are usually sorted out swiftly.  They provide ample learning opportunities for everyone in the team and everyone seems to come back from their courses full of enthusiasm and wanting to make a difference.  We have been part of IVC now for close to two years, and I am very glad that I chose wisely when I decided to sell my business to them.

Massively overpriced so working on reception all you get are complaints. They have no idea who we are, we are just a number to them easily replaced. No job security as redundancies this year. Only a 2% pay rise even though minimum wage has increased by over 6% so we are very near to mini.um wage. Constantly pressured into booking clients in when they don't want to as too expensive. No benefits in working for them at all. All veterinary staff go into this business for one thing the love of animals, IVC do not hold those values run by someone in the finance industry so it is a business to them not a passion. Third increase in prices in the last year a 45% increase in consult charge in the last 2 years. We do very little procedures now as we cannot get people in the door as consult way too high. The only thing they can do is reduce the consults it would get people back in the door, but no one at the top would listen to a receptionist, we are the people on the front line but we are insignificant dots in a huge corporate world.

If you are passionate and enthusiastic about caring for pets, do not work for IVC they do not give a s*** about customers and their pets, as long as they are making money that’s all they care about extremely profit driven working here is like working in a sweat shop, pay is horrendous and do not coinside with cost of living, they over charge clients and it’s all about budgets and percentages. They are extremely unorganised, they make deals with companies and then change there mind so we a forced and so stressed recommending a product for it to be changed to another a month later. 

If I’m honest I don’t think IVC realise or likely care that they are destroying so many people’s careers and dreams, I have always wanted to work in a vets and become a nurse and I loved my job before these parasites took over and stripped every little bit of joy I had working in my dream job.

You have no time for the animals because the manager is forced to meet budgets and targets so we over book on appointments and other surgeries so patient care has declined massively and we charge huge amounts to owners and can not even have the time to provide a service worth what they charge.

They bring investors to the clinic honestly there’s so much wrong with this nasty company.

My hours on reception entailed greeting clients and their animals, answering phones and making appointments and transferring lab results onto clients files.

I have learned so much over the years, three new computer systems,  
working as a team, And how to be patient and sort any problems that can occur.

Management has always been very good at RVG,  easy to talk to, 
the partners are really friendly, and communication is good.

We have had so many different staff over the years, and we always seem to have The a good working relationship, the vets are really helpful and are a good support. We have all different ages, and all seem to get on well together.

Having a clients pet put to sleep is difficult, but we know it is the kindest thing we can do, to a very old or sick animal. Its the owners then, that we have to look after and comfort, this can be heart wrenching, and also saying goodbye to an animal, that you have known a long time.

Always for me, the clients and animals, I have made such good friends, also working with my team mates, and when a sick pet comes in, and you comfort them, and days later you see them going home well.

I have been working for IVC on and off for about 3 and a half years. I was originally at a clinic that was taken over and rejoined. The current practice I'm at have loads of nice staff and their clinical staff are the best I've worked with so far. As of late the workload has increased and the prices have been increased for treatments about three times already this year. Clients are seeing these price increases and we are seeing a lot of sad situations that could be avoided since there is a cost of living crisis going on. No real financial gain, asked a payrise to better reflect my skill but had no response. I could reapply for my current job and be given more pay, or go to another IVC practice and get more pay there. Cases are varied and does keep you interested - management are approachable and feel I can trust them with issues I have in the workplace. A real shame as its a lovely team and has the makings of being a great practice if the salaries were better. 

Horrible place/company to work for

I dont usually leave reviews, however, I had the worst experience working at IVC and wanted to warn others job searching to not work at IVC.

If you are looking for a company that values you, has great work life balance, good workplace culture, treats you fairly, pays well, is supportive of your well being and Development, please do not apply to work at IVC!!!

A role at IVC may suit someone who has a lot of experience and has the authority to make valuable changes to this work in progress company. Or if you are a vet / nurse looking for a change of pace and want to dip your toe into corporate lifestyle part time. 

Otherwise, this is not the company for you.

Unfortunately they only care about money rather than the animals. Management extremely ‘clicky’. We are just a number to them… replaceable! 
If you respectfully disagree with anything, you’re their next target to get rid of.
Most of the management don’t come from veterinary backgrounds so all they care about is their bonuses where as all other staff get all benefits taken away from them.
They go on about saving money yet, management are always out having coffee meetings at coffee shops? 

AVOID!!!
