Once I was told to clean a bin that was left for months to grow mould without any cleaning supplies or protection. I ended up using some form of heavy duty powdered bleach, I ended up getting the bleach in my eye, it took 10 minutes for me to get a first aider and after giving me saline they asked me if I could get to the hospital, I then took the bus to the hospital and I don’t think they ever did an injury report as they didn’t follow any safety guidelines.  Management wasn’t there to help, it was to check you were in line. Not long into working there I was left in my section alone at the end of the day, a large line formed and I was too overwhelmed and it was the end of a long shift. One of the top managers was away to take my till as it was the end of the day but instead of taking my till or even sending a coworker to help she decided to leave me be as I was dealing with customers and getting the company more money. As I was being paid £4.35 and it would be about £30 for a 7 hour shift, they bend rules as the ride staff don’t get breaks they legally should because of the way they rota them on. Once the main bosses son told a 16 year old that If she took a break on a shift under 6 hours again she’d be breaking the law, however she was already entitled by that point to a 30 minute break

I generally worked around 40-50 hrs a week. Shifts would vary from 6.5 to 12 hours. I worked in the prize shop and the betting area - the prize shop speaks for itself, but in the betting area I had to clean the machines, give change to customers (I was given a float of £100) and through radio contact keep maintenance updated on any broken machines.
My managers were fairly friendly, though I didn't get on with my supervisor - admittedly I wasn't very good at timekeeping, something he took issue with. At the time I was broke and verging on homelessness, so whenever I came in late (which was often, I lived several miles away and was walking to work) my supervisor would make comments on my financial situation, which I didn't appreciate at all. We didn't like each other much.
My co-workers were great, always a joke and conversation. The job was pretty mundane, so the social interaction on the job made things easier.
The hardest part of the job was managing the boredom. There are only so many things you can do to keep busy, and it was very repetitive.

Worked here for a good while now, and largely stay because I enjoy it. I like being outdoors, and being kept active/getting exercise. The job helped me as a person, and taught me to be more confident in myself, because you can't get by on being quiet and a pushover with some customers, particularly bratty teens.
If you make friends with the people you work with, then you'll genuinely have a good time. Having said that there will be bad days, but there's also good days. It's just how life is. Everything can't be sunshine and roses all the time.
I feel Codona's bad reputation comes from young people that have taken it as a first job, with little to no work ethic, and end up having unrealistic expectations. If you prove yourself to not be an idiot, have a good work ethic, and actually do your job, then they will look after you. Give them enough notice, and don't try to take time off during the busiest periods, and you are likely to get the time off too.

I worked here in 2017,definitely got taken for granted,don’t get proper breaks and management treat staff shockingly. Over worked is an understatement and the training is shocking for £5:60 a hour it definitely wasn’t worth it. you get watched like a hawk by management and some of the staff who have actually stayed for years can be snappy the minute you don’t get something or have to be shown again! I was in catering and they put you in smuggles cove and for me that was the worst ,parents shout at you for not watching there kids , it’s absolutely roasting in there. You will be on your feet for 8 straight hours walking miles around the place in the heat also have no time to have something proper to eat as don’t get a long enough break,I literally felt like I was gonna pass out at times , I lasted like 6-7 months then walked out because it was too much , they go through so much staff because they can’t keep them. Literally was my first job and by far the worst

Difficult place to work, expected to work extensive hours for minimal pay. Will have you standing for hours at a time, and you would either not receive a break on time or not receive one at all. Shifts would be cut short unexpectedly as they would put too many people on so therefore employees had to deal with the consequences of managements poor decisions. Higher up bosses and owners are nasty pieces of work and do not care about their employees at all, would often be rude and snarky for no reason. Overall environment felt really hostile as higher ups would constantly be watching you on the CCTV, leading to a high pressure environment that would stress out employees who were already at their wits end. 

If you go to work at Cadonas then here is what to expect.

Once you get a load of hours to work expect them to be cut because they have contract staff that they cant give enough hours to so that means that the kitchen staff and chefs end up working behind the bar and they cant speak english so dont understand customers.

If you go of sick for whatever reason they will hound you and call you non stop. You don't get any sick pay no matter what you are off with. If a doctor signs you off you wont get paid.

Everyone is on minimum salary and you dont get a penny more

Staff loose there jobs all the time because they say there is no money to pay staff but the find two jobs for the directors sons who go and buy big houses guess where the money comes from for that.

Each day within codonas was different as you could be placed within different departments, meet new members of staff and every day seeing new members of the public. I learned how to work individually and within a team, work within different parts of the park indoor and out and having to be flexible and adaptable to the changes. I enjoyed working with the staff members and found most management friendly and very cooperative within each day of working there. I enjoyed being able to work within the variety of stalls and having my own responsibilities within them, hardest part was getting breaks especially if under staffed.

A typical day at work would start from turning all the system ,computers, etc. Answering phone calles, give customers right informations, answers they are looking for, serve customers over the reception. Always smile, be positive at work place. I did not find anything that hard in my work place, the system was quite hard but after some time I have learned how to use it. The most enjoyable in my work is dealing with lovely families, giving them the best service I can.

Management do not care about staff. Was once told staff are expendable so not worth caring about. Staff turnover is horrendous. They hire and fire people at a rate I have never seen so high. Most management are two faced and quite often will avoid getting in trouble by blaming staff for their mistakes of course there are exceptions. They hire essentially all children but blame older staff for the immaturity level present in the business. Entirely unprofessional place to work and the food hygiene is atrocious.

The work load expected of the employees was far too high given the time you had to complete certain tasks. The whole venue is so unsanitary and the staff are all separated into those who’ve worked there for years and those who are only gonna last a couple of weeks due to the unfriendliness of the former.
