The work was stressful at times, a very busy office, working to tight deadlines at times, but we had a great lead manager and worked well as a team, as well as independently.

A typical day would be the initial check of emails, and prioritise what needed to be completed first. As a department we would be working on multiple projects, therefore depending on the highest priority would depend on what was worked on that day.

We worked for a global organisation, and our department covered Product Regulatory Affairs for the whole group, ensuring that legislation was followed, with correct paperwork in place, working with the relevant departments and/or plants on legal changes that were envisaged in the future.

Within this role, you learn to diversify, you needed to be able to juggle your time well and switch from one subject to another quickly.

We had an excellent line Manager, who could see your potential better than you could, and would eke that potential out of you pushing you to reach your goals.

There is no specific part of the job I enjoyed most, I can honestly say I really enjoyed the whole job, and in the 10 years working for the company I learnt a lot, had the opportunity to travel within Europe, and worked with some wonderful people. The hardest part was being made redundant, however when one door closes another always opens.

I worked on the Cold End and now currently on the Hot End, if you can handle these things:

Standing up for hours at a time.
Slight itching (at first).
A fast paced environment.

The most important thing is your attitude and work ethic! Don't be lazy. Many are and yet the supervisors are so kind they allow it. Also show up, this is the biggest problem we have and the one we don't tolerate. 

Seriously, show up.

To summarize, excellent pay, awesome people, lots of breaks and lots of standing. Come in with a good attitude/willing to learn and you'll be respected. You'll also lose weight.

Worked on the batt line, usually a good set of people, work could be easy some days, hard others depending on product but had a high turnover, one month we went through about 150 agency guys, 3 x 20 minute breaks a day including the walk to the canteen, if you got a contract from agency you had rolling 1 year contracts so no real security there, on site gym was a nice bonus £3 a month and if on morning shifts you could have a cooked breakfast if you could inhale it quick enough, working rotating 8 hour shifts in DNA format days, nights afternoons so weekends could start on saturday morning or friday afternoon sadly I believe the batt line went in 2021.

My typical day was to walk the factory and inspect the running of the plant to see if it was working  without any problems. When iworked for the company I went on courses for different types of machines.The management of the company were very good could not fault them. My co workers were brilliant we all worked as a team we all had are own work to do but on breakdowns we all worked together. The hardest part of the job was working outside in the snow and the rain on top of the silos .The enjoyable part was having a laugh and a joke with every body it kept me young inside.

There is no stress in working at Knauf.

Work environment is very welcoming and all staff are treated with respect.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves working on your assigned duties and there are occasions when you are expected to take on additional responsibilities but not forced to do them.

As a machine operator at Knauf, most of my time there was spent packaging Insulation bats. The job consisted of 8 hour work days on a shift pattern of days (6am-2pm), nights (10pm-6am) and afternoons (2pm-10pm). It is a very physical job with little to no time for rest. We were given three 20 minute breaks throughout the shift and he remaining 7 hours were pent on your feet packaging.

I was 1 of 10 starters. 9 of those starters where given the legally required PPE within their 1st week. After 3 weeks I still hadn't been given any despite constantly chasing it up. Obviously being singled out and treated like your worthless would make anyone feel depressed and unhappy at work. When I challenged why I was being treated differently from the rest it resulted in me being escorted off site! 

I have been brought in on a three month project contract.  The aim of the project is to help with an online expense system that has been rolled out by the parent company in Germany.

I am working as part of an elite team to resolve technical and accounting issuses raised by the MXP not feeding correct information into SAP.

Run down bullied and manager doesn't give a scooby

Work is stressful and fast paced with no support from the managers. They could do with hiring more staff and experience in management. I learned what a toxic work culture feels like and worried I’d be sacked every day. The hardest part of the job was facing this every day. Most enjoyable part of the job was the people around me in the team
