An atypical day at work involved managing multiple tasks, prioritising deadlines, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure projects were completed efficiently. I often had to adapt quickly to changing priorities, which helped me become more flexible and organised.
During my time, I learned valuable skills such as time management, communication, and problem-solving. I also improved my ability to work both independently and as part of a team, especially under pressure.
Management was generally supportive and approachable, providing guidance when needed while also encouraging independence. Feedback was constructive, which helped me improve my performance.
The workplace culture was positive and team-oriented. Colleagues were willing to help each other, and there was a strong sense of cooperation, which made the environment more enjoyable and productive.
The hardest part of the job was balancing multiple responsibilities at once, particularly during busy periods. However, this challenge helped me develop better organisational skills and resilience.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working with a supportive team and seeing the results of our efforts come together. It was rewarding to contribute to shared goals and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day.

It was my first experience working with contracts management and operational procurement teams, within a local council.
Was a good learning curve and learned so much about government, public services, process and governance, ethics and values of serving staff, equality and diversity, HR, recruitment, consultation, training management and suppliers management and more.
With a bit of challenge with my line manager who was a nice hearted but a bit old school woman - managed to get lots of fab trainings and learning day experiences which paved my way for the next steps in my career moving on to my next role.
Made a 7 grade jump to the next tole - which was a far better and more interesting role and pay and much more fun but in a different local authority. 
Despite quite a bit of efforts and many applications completed did not manage to secure a more senior grade role in Lambeth - which was a shame as it was / is my local council and close to home.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Managers offer support with career development. There is a level of inclusivity in the organisation Colleagues work collaboratively. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are deadlines to be met and one has to  prioritise one’s workload to reduce stress. Some tasks require routine work and every effort should be made be made to avoid stress.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Employees are  friendly and communicate by sharing information with others. There are adequate resources available  Health and Safety are greatly adhered to and Managers support employees if there are incidents.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work starts promptly at 9:30 which is done from a hourly rota .Most of the tasks have to be achieved and this is accomplished with the use of  automated machines.Customers require regular information and this is provided using  the Management System available in the Department.

Working with this team has been an incredibly positive experience. The diversity among my colleagues has enriched my professional journey, providing unique perspectives and fostering a vibrant workplace culture. The presence of great mentors has been invaluable— their guidance has not only sharpened my skills but also inspired my career growth. The environment is conducive to collaboration, making it an ideal place for personal and professional development. I feel fortunate to be a part of this dynamic and supportive community.  
I would use this as a place to network with. So many projects and organisations.

Management consider themselves unchallengeable, constant use of highly paid consultant managers to maximise parking fine revenue.
Inherent moral corruption and cover ups.
Team members constantly badgered by management if not meeting the targets or allowing representations irrespective of the fairness and discretion to cancel a parking ticket.
Targets of cases per hour are too high and do not really allow fair consideration of the customers representation.
I took “voluntary” redundancy to get out of the toxic environment 😎

The team is great, and the Clients are nice to serve

Budgets are tight at the moment, so they have had to tighten their belts budget-wise!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lovely, respectful  and friendly work environment,

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Service the I.T. queue and phones, and walk-ups can be very hectic at times, but everyone chips in when possible

Could be a very exciting LA to work for with all of the regeneration and opportunities in the borough. Unfortunately due to austerity and a massive reduction in funds, there is far too many restructures which never really achieve what they set out to, hence the reason why there is continual re-organisational designs every year.

Lambeth council is a relax place to work but it is a shame that manager who are on 60k + dont really have to do much. They tend to push all their work onto people beneath them while they take days off and take numerous holidays. The council is very slow when relying to customers and very unprofessional in its approach to clients. The company is very unorganised and SLOW! The pay was also ridiculous compared to the work you had to do.

everyone is lovely and bubbly there.
they have all learned to work as part of a team.
A typical day at work would consist of helping out tenants that have issues in their properties. you sometimes have to work with your colleagues in order to get certain situations resolved as they might specialise in it. the management is wonderful. always on top of things and fair. hardest art of the job is knowing you tried your best to help a tenant out and it still wasnt resolved properly.

I work on transport projects at Lambeth, it's rewarding as we have good political support and are relatively ambitious in the project we're tasked with delivering which makes for interesting work. It's one of the better London boroughs to work for if you work in transport. I think the whole council can be very varied in terms of experiences of working. My main dislike of the workplace is that it is an incredibly bureaucratic place to work which can be a bit demotivating
