My experience in the role was difficult overall, but the people I worked with day to day were genuinely outstanding. The teams outside of management were supportive, collaborative, and committed to doing good work despite the environment they were operating in. They were the main reason the job was enjoyable at all.

A typical day involved unclear priorities, shifting expectations, and constant pressure to be physically present rather than genuinely productive. Work–life balance was poor. There was a clear belief that the longer you stayed in the office, the more work you must be doing, which simply wasn’t true. It created a culture where visibility mattered more than output and where burnout was almost treated as a badge of honour. Everything was numbers driven, with very little focus on people, development, or building capability. The expectation was to deliver more, faster, without any real investment in the individuals doing the work.

I learned a lot about resilience, managing ambiguity, and staying focused without reliable leadership support. I also learned how to build strong relationships with colleagues who were trying to do the right thing in a difficult environment.

Management was the weakest part of the organisation. Direction was inconsistent, communication was poor, and support or development was almost non-existent. You were expected to deliver without clarity, guidance, or meaningful feedback. At board level, the culture was toxic, blame-driven, politically charged, and disconnected from the reality of day to day operations. Decisions often felt reactive and self-serving rather than focused on enabling teams to succeed.

The workplace culture reflected this divide. The people on the ground worked hard and supported each other, but the tone from the top created unnecessary stress, confusion, and a feeling that no amount of effort was ever enough. Talented individuals were left to compensate for leadership gaps, often at the expense of their wellbeing.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with the lack of structure, the unrealistic expectations around hours and presence, and the toxic behaviours at senior levels. The most enjoyable part, by far, was the camaraderie with colleagues who genuinely cared and made even the toughest days manageable.

I've been with this company for over a year and have really enjoyed it. Having worked previously in a much larger company, it's been a breath of fresh air to be part of a smaller team where people know each other. It's also been great to be somewhere where you can make a suggestion one day, and it can be taken up the next - no waiting months for someone to listen! 

The Directors really care about the business and the people who work here. Our Chief Executive, Liam, speaks to people everyday and makes an effort to understand how we feel. It's a busy place and there's never a dull moment, but it's also interesting and I've learned a lot about the travel and tourism market place. 

The company offers a great holiday benefit. Staff are given £750 each for them and a partner to use towards a Leger Shearings holiday. Staff are also given paid time off to take it!  I know lots of staff members use this every year, and it's nice to get something like this from where you work. 

The culture is very empowering and staff are encouraged to come up with new ideas. There's also regular updates from managers about how the business is doing and what things are happening.  Something which is a bit different from where I've previously worked is the emphasis on being together in the office, instead of working from home. Although I can see that this may not work for some people, I can see why the buzz and new ideas which come from being in the office works for the company. Having worked  from home during lockdown, I have found it much more enjoyable to be part of a team in the office again.  



This company needs to look at it's training, management style, shift patterns and overall treatment of it's staff if it wants to retain anybody .That's why it constantly has to advertise.

More on the job training is needed, just sitting in a room for 8 hrs looking how the system works is not good enough, new starters need to be shown how the system works straight away by doing the job with the computer and not just have one call to deal with then your on the phone ( being shown how the phone works on the computer would have been helpful)

Shifts are altered without your knowledge. I would recommend taking photos of your shifts to prove that you are in doing the right ones. If not they will be changed and lied too about it, an absolutely disgusting way to treat people.

Management are not there for their staff, they need to be more proactive and care more about retaining staff than achieving unobtainable targets for the majority of team members. 

The pressure to sell holidays there and then is placed firmly on. If customers want to think about it because you have offered an alternative, then that is frowned upon.

I left because of the stress of the job, not being able to navigate my way around a system having the pressure to type up a call and set up cases within 2 minutes and being lied to about shift changes. I was told I would work 1 weekend in 4 but worked 3 weekends in 4 because they couldn't retain staff.

This is a warning, I just don't want anyone to go through what I went through look for something different you are much better than this company!! 

What is the best part of working at the company?
My colleagues, the majority of them where fine freindly people.  That made me feel very welcome.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Line management lacked consistency and effective communication
Expectations were not always clearly set or fairly applied
Limited support or constructive feedback when issues arose
Decisions could feel reactive rather than well thought through

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture appears to be driven strongly from the top, with directors often making decisions in a way that feels predetermined rather than collaborative. This can give the impression that feedback from teams is not always fully considered. As a result, employees may feel less engaged or less willing to contribute ideas, particularly if there is a sense that outcomes are already decided.

At a line management level, this can translate into unclear communication and inconsistent expectations, which adds to the overall frustration.

Advice to Management:
Encourage more open, two-way communication and genuinely consider input from teams before decisions are finalised. A more inclusive approach would likely improve engagement and trust across the business.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Since joining Leger Shearings, I have already progressed within my role, which reflects the company’s strong focus on employee development. My manager has shown a genuine interest in supporting my growth and helping me build new skills, which has made the experience very motivating.

I’ve found the workplace culture to be positive, friendly, and inclusive, with a supportive team environment where everyone is encouraged to do their best. It’s rewarding to work for a company that values its employees, invests in their development, and recognises hard work through incentives and rewards.

The benefits are also a great bonus, including free parking, your birthday and Christmas Eve off, and the opportunity to take additional paid time off each year to experience a colleague tour, which is largely funded for both you and a partner in exchange for a short report afterwards.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The only downside can be the commute for non-drivers due to the location, although there are public transport links available.

When I first joined, the training was excellent, and everyone had a positive attitude. The work-life balance was good, and you could have a laugh as long as the work got done.

However, after Christmas, there was a major shift in management. The new leadership discouraged any kind of conversation between employees, no matter how much work you had completed. Even a brief chat with your peers was frowned upon.

The work-life balance deteriorated, new shift patterns were implemented, and we were told that if we didn’t like it, we could leave—they didn’t care at all.

Employees were reprimanded for the smallest things. One day you were in one department, and the next day in another, solely for their convenience, with no regard for your interests.

The business has changed significantly in the past year. Management believes these changes are positive, but as a former employee, I can assure you that everyone who has worked there in the past year disagrees. There's a reason there are frequent job vacancies.

Working at Leger Shearings was a really positive experience. 

A typical day was busy but rewarding, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.

I learned a lot about communication, problem-solving, and handling different situations professionally.

Management were supportive and approachable, always encouraging staff to do their best and develop new skills. 

The workplace culture was friendly and welcoming, which made it easy to build good relationships with colleagues.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with busy periods, but it helped me become more organised and confident under pressure.

The most enjoyable part was meeting new people every day and being part of a hardworking, supportive team.

I sadly left my role due to personal reasons that had nothing to do with the company or the role. I will miss Leger Shearings and the people I met there. 

The company is great and I wish them nothing but the very best in the future. 


Some nice people and can earn some good money, lots of people were forced to hand in notice or face the sack only to be sacked a week or 2 later regardless. Commute isn't reliable unless you drive, lots of good incentives from money to food to technology also loads of love to shop vouchers some I worked with had 500 or 600 worth tucked away for performance related rewards. Don't go dog van you'll end up poorly. Management were nice people but in my opinion everyone was out for themselves and if they liked you you'd get on well if they didn't your kind of fed to the sharks. I enjoyed my experience if I was asked to go back I'd think about it but taking everything into consideration I would probably decline.

Quite honestly a terrible experience, I would urge anyone considering it to do some serious research and ask the right questions at interview stage.

Company culture can only be described as toxic. Employees are treated a bit like children from what I witnessed. Senior leaders shouting at staff - in full view of other staff. Any modern leader knows that this is the quickest way to erode trust and confidence, not to mention respect. The high staff turnover should serve as a red flag.

There is an overarching lack of personability and no effort is made to engage with employees on any kind of personal level, which results in a cold, hostile atmosphere.

I have no axe to grind now, but I wish I had done more research before I took the plunge. 

Overall, a really poor experience. A massive learning curve but sadly for all the wrong reasons.


So I have been to many contact centres in my time and I can categorically state that this is the best of the lot. The management are more like family rather than bosses, the contact centre manager in particular, Paul Dillon, only wants the best for you, whether that’s guiding you so you get paid well, or open doors for progression. If you have a good attitude then this really is the place to thrive. Very good earning potential if you hit you’re targets which is why we go to work, but the environment just makes your day so much better. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
