Typical day at work involves handling calls and emails on a shift pattern. Over my time here I gained further responsibilities and was also trusted to train new starters. I had been at the company for over a year and was carrying the workload of approximately 2/3 people in a day and was fired after a few incidents involving working on weekends and overtime. Overall the job security was next to none as around 8 other people were fired and whilst this was happening people were constantly feeling like they had targets on their back. It feels like every few months a new stat tracking tool is released that means we were being micromanaged more and more with their latest tool tracking people every 10 minutes. Overall my direct team leader was great to work with and supported me on a work and personal level during my time there, however everyone above him very clearly looked down to Customer Support Agents and would only ever talk to us for negative reasons and definitely felt they were better then us. In addition when I first joined I saw many team members move on to better opportunities internally however once I had passed probation and this option was available to myself it seemed a lot more barriers were put in place to prevent these moves, such as requiring experience in the role or only hiring externally. Overall all the agents at the company were a joy to work with and I have a lot of great relationships in and out of work but higher management definitely needs to be brought back down a level and learn to treat their colleagues like humans.

Everyone has an “Ownership mindset”, which means that people don't shy away from rolling up their sleeves whether they are junior or C-suite. We work together to get the best result, even if this means the more senior people need to get their hands dirty.

The opportunity that has been created for me and many others has created an environment where people want to work hard. It's not that people are expected to work longer hours but rather work smart (automation and AI are at the forefront of everything we do).

I don't know many companies that give share options to everyone in the company - from customer operations up to C-suite, everyone shares in the success of Lendable as a company.

Lendable is not for everyone...

It's an amazing company if you love a challenge and want to make a bigger impact. If you are looking for a 9-5 job where change is the exception.. Then this isn't the place for you.

People sadly don't always speak their minds but prefer to be silent and hope that the "issue" will solve itself. This is not uncommon in the industry/UK sadly.

You’ve already have a long email from myself with recommendations, however I will mention here the training needs to be completely reviewed and changed. I had the worst training I’ve ever experienced my ten years of working. A fake trainer that is non existent and that read powerpoint slides, absolute waste of peoples time by making them train from 9am-6pm with little to no training take place whilst in a office full of people on calls whilst your reading PowerPoint slides. Pay is very low considering this is a fintech company.  Structured training needs to take place.

Micro aggressions are also a thing so if you are from a BAME background be ready for comments about your hair and other personal attributes as I only lasted a week that’s how bad it was in the office 

This company has great people within, but you are micromanaged in every aspect of your work. On the phone practically all day and targets left right and centre it’s so hard to manage
