.I came at Lodge and I worked 7 months..money,all time correct but..I came .with all my goodwill from another company when \i was very good for me in retail,and I cant come back now...of course..my big mistake..you cant communicate normally with they..."they paid holiday in advance, is very good..is.."Nothing is  real, I called 4(four) months yea you hear better, after i left to recover one part of my money to holiday .for my unpaid holiday for last year from Lodge HR office.Because for 3 months before managers they dont want to give me money or holiday.In my opinion Managers  I dont know what kind of experience they have I have 7 years in security from pharmacy, at  Anfield stadium, WTC Pullman hotel and I know very well to be polite and have customers service always,but I didnt saw that joke of management like that before... they dont care about employees,is no respect, after that site is very busy and  hard is one shop,and they should be closely to team,to listen guards, they dont know to keep good and hard worker guards.Managers treat us as stoopids people at my experience.. All time managers  change at 3 or 4 months all kind of people because someone with experience dont stay there.Site is hard work, many shoplifters, dealing with police, i made my duties very well 2 or 3 times i was little bit late with 10 min i use bus as transport and was big problem.But is not big problem for they if one special person he is not  coming at work or is "sick" 3-4 days..I started in January at beggining of year and when I asked they after 3 months for my money for holiday because in 1 April is finish their financial year both managers told me "you dont have enough shifts.." so after 3 months is no days worked, no money for holiday pay!!! So 3 months doesnt matter for they if  is finish of financial year to give you money for holiday days for 3 months..seem to be work for nothing like managers bring money from themselves to pay us...unbelievable.Contracts with 0 hours is if you dont say nothing few times can be for 1 year...With all my good sense and patience I left..

I know for a fact that the company will know who this review is from, but not like I care anyway.

In all of my time in working, I've never dealt with some incompetent and pathetic management who don't know how to care for their staff and support them in any way. I worked at H&M in Central London and after a month and half working there, doing everything that was required of me... I got removed and was unfairly treated by the management.

Got placed in a much, much smaller store, which averaged at least 10 customers a day. Not an hour, a day. Which made my time there even worse, because the manager there seemed to have a weird and unnecessary issue with me and wouldn't speak to me about it and be civil, but it is what it is.

If you're gonna be looking after your company and your staff, increase the pay and ensure your area managers are completely trained and aware of issues your staff may be having.

Only enjoyable part of the job was speaking to some of the retail staff, they were lovely and I'm glad I got to meet them. However, as they say, all good things must come to an end eventually.

To get started in security, lodge is great to get a taste of the job roll, personally I would not stay any longer than a year to gain some experience, colleagues are great everything else is a joke. Last minute changes to your rota without being contacted, short breaks which are paid for personally would prefer a full hour than it being paid for 45 minutes. Your job roll is more concierge and a trolley boy than catching or deterring shoplifters, poor company advancement, very long shifts even if you have asked for over 40 and under 48 hours, working multiple days straight e.g.: 10 days and only getting one day off then working another 7 days. You may have a day off and again last minute it has been changed even if you have made plans but management expects you to put company first than your life outside work, so work life balance is poor. Management to busy looking to get other clients but can't handle what they have at the moment (staff wise).
They also hire anybody just to get numbers up.

A very demanding job , were you never know what can happen everyday is a different day and everyday a new challenge that is the enjoyment in this job which i very much enjoyed and worked effectively.
A typical day would be a shopper would come in store he or she may act suspicious by body language usually we can pick up these signals , the shopper then select items as you observe the shopper conceals the items and then leaves the store without offering any payment.. At this point my job as a security officer is put to test my adrenaline is pumping and i know i have to stop this person in the best possible format without and violence ,so i would approach the person from the front and ask them to walk bock with me after identifying myself, 80% of the time they comply the 20% don't , they fight and be abusive on these occasions i have to be prepared.
so not every day is the same in this industry..

Absolute joke of a company, one of the area managers is an absolute disgrace,  quit job with old company and   got told will get started 'ASAP' which was after 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!! after of being given stupid shifts in several different areas which i already explained the importance of near work to home. They didnt give a toss, other area manager is a top bloke, more organised and cares about staff as he came asking about uniform and checked up on me etc. First area manager didnt give a toss, never mentioned anything about uniform or company id, pathetic. If you want to chase around for work like a dog then by all means go for this company

I was employed by lodge doing security guard duties in clothing retail stores and store detectived work. I have to say this is the worse security company I have ever worked for in my security and policing career. I would avoid all roles in London and South East England areas. The management in that area treat you poorly, give you false promises and lie to you. The managers can’t even put together a rota properly always do it last minute and expect you travel far distances for work. They say they will pay back your expenses however theres always “ difficulties“ in payment. It took me 5 months to claim back expenses and it was only a small amount of money. The fuel payment per mile is 13p.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Did 3 month trial at their  moorfield site.  4 lazy people. Been together for years. Supervisor takes every weekend off. The 4 of them are a wee cliche. Most boring job ever.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sitting bored. The 4 of them sat in their office on the computers on the internet all day. One of them constantly looking at cars then saying going to look at one. Supervisor played computer games all day. They do not like you doing your job. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor. Workers at Moorfield Kilmarnock petty and a cliche. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Boring. None of them want to work. On computer all day. Just lazy.

Was a good job, some of the staff became very power controlling but overall a great place to work.

Friendly atmosphere when you came to work. management were a bit overbearing with no understanding of our role. Spent more time stacking baskets than actually deterring people.

Most of the staff had a good attitude but there was an abundance of gossip which i didn't like and tried not to participate in.

Coming into work where there was a friendly greeting and finishing knowing you had a productive day

Having been part of the Control room Operating team

Nothing  to comment about since every place has got it stressful areas

It really fun  and diverse hope everyone gets the opportunity to have a taste

Since I worked in the Control room it busy in the morning   but slowly die out by the close of the day
