Spent day welding pipes & gained ACE card & welding certs up-dated via company - which required attending courses which was informative & beneficial to me.

Company tended to listen to us e.g. we had weekly 'grouse' meetings with management who tried to address our issues if possible &/or gave viable reasons if this was not possible. 

Hardest part of job initially was the company eco-friendly 'bus system' but as many of us had too drive past our work-site to a car-park & get on a bus back the way we came. Didn't see how this was eco-friendly as it added extra time to journey too & from work. This was eventually addressed by providing a car-park before we reached work site.  

Most enjoyable part was the relationships/friendships I have made with some of my co-workers

-A typical day at work:
   +Review and update reports / systems
   +Man hour reporting to be sent to leads and management
   +Prepare invoices which are issued on a monthly basis
-What you learned:
   +O&G industry is very fast paced; keeping up while ensuring that high standards are maintained. 
-Management:
   +The management style is great. They look after their employees and ensure that they are kept happy and challenged.
-Your co-workers:
   +Very friendly, a joy to work with.
-The hardest part of the job:
   +As a hard working and dedicated person, I ensure that all deadlines are met in advance. This can cause unnecessary stress.
-The most enjoyable part of the job:
   +The man hour reporting
   +Learning how various disciplines work with one another to keep the company working successfully.

A fast paced, stressful working environment managed in a poor manner. The notion of engagement and leadership are only punch lines at best used only in town hall management briefings. There was absolutely no sense of ethics or integrity nor was there any incentives for career development. Their latest fiscal crisis is wholly a reflection of the above.

Wake up 4 00am.. Gym- Breaky- Crib. on bus start work 6.00am. Pre start, skope of work for the day, Safe Spine Stretches.. Been rigging for bout 5 years now, ive learnt a lot about Structural Steel, Rigging Big Bore Gas Pipe, Installation Platforms,Working with big Cranes. Ive met a lot off good people in this industry.. hardest part of the job is been away from family, but other than that I luv wat I do best RIGGING

With the purchase of Shaw group for 3.4 billion and the following sale after just three years and in loss, the management has put there whole group at risk. 
The declaration done to invest in team working but simultaneously starting the third round of redundancy doesn't make the future so bright.

After I’d passed my class one this is the 1st company to offer me a job. 

I soon left because I come to realise that my wages was short of everyone else’s by £200 a week although I tried to stick it out, do the job and proove myself. 

Was told to drive around the docks off the tacho. 

Every hour available on the tacho had to be used if they can help it . 

Just avoid them 

Enjoyed working with a Fantastic and motivated Team, my main engagement was directly with engineers and management to ensure that documentation, reports and expiditing was achieved to project standards on a timely basis.

Job security can very whether you are contract or permanent for CB&I

I had met many people from the construction site to the office. Everyone helped each other to achieve the end goal which turned out to be a success.

Sadly due to the slump in the Oil and Gas industry there was no follow on project work. However CB&I is overal a company I would happily stay with for a long period.

very small office that is hard to progress a career in. Very low wages offered to all members of staff except mangers. Would be good start if you need to learn from the start.
