Wanted this job to be a good placement but unfortunatley turned out to be awful.
Dont be fooled by any agency placement promising good future  prospects.
You are told your  starting salary will be £10 PH, and will be much more after qualifing. The truth is you only qualify as full time Miele employee after 1st being with agency for 13 weeks, and then anouther 13 weeks with Miele.Thats half a year before you can earn the top pay of ( wait for it)   .....£10.30p PH !!!!!!
As a agency driver, you could be weeks there before any training is given, and they will swap driver/ drivers mate everyday so you dont get comfortable and get any ideas, between yourselves. Nearly half the fleet of drivers are agency, and people are leaving all the time. Morale is really low, and even the long term drivers have nothing positive to say. Real shame, because vehicles are good and clean, and the product is great. Management are completely out of touch, and you will be on the road a lot of hours!
The long term guys who are fully trained installer/ drivers are nice freindly guys, but for what they do, very underpaid compared to the industry.
Low atmosphere with a steady stream of drivers passing through.
Remember, be carefull what the agency tells you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Answering all inbound calls, diagnosing and troubleshooting faulty appliances and where possible fixing them, documentation of this, booking engineer visits when required, raising credits, dealing with and escalating complaints, ordering spares, all within very tight targets.  Upselling wherever possible.
Technical information and how to resolve faults on white goods through a number of resources available and knowledge.
Very poor management-completely target driven, yet setting time targets on everythingwhilst trying to give great customer service, Also targeting on time going to loo, call follow-up, which could be quite complex to resolve issue.  Only being given rota every 2 weeks, so not being able to plan anything outside work outside 2 weeks.
Achieving daily stats when some are impossible through no fault of your own, lack of consideration in rota.  Having customers demand to speak to a manager and no manager being prepared to speak to them
Work colleagues.

A typical day consisted of three to four confirmed meetings at showrooms every day.  Information to include new product, range changes, review of business and sales.  Training within the meeting and product knowledge was also an important part of the role.  Responding to telephone calls and emails (sometimes 30 a day) most of which usually required some response or further action. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was working with great colleagues and building loyal relationships with accounts watching their businesses grow.  Due to management changes the workplace culture changed, with hardly any empathy towards the employee and little regard to work/life balance.

I passed my probation and overall did well. After my manager watched me do a training session she took me
Into a room and showed me some poor feedback. The next day she took me out to watch me in the field and started to make up on some kind of written review that I was bad at every aspect of my job in an attempt to demean me. The following week all my team members were given a hotel room for a meeting except me. I felt I had no choice but to  hand my notice in. Treated extremely poorly and therefore cannot recommend working here. She deliberately gave me the poor feedback the day before coming out to watch me I was demoralised obviously the next day!

If you like sales then this is the job for you, however if you expect to concentrate on the technical side and fix appliances then expect constant badgering from management about your lack of sales. The job is great driving around visiting customers and fixing faults is rewarding and I liked it. Micro management from line managers is commonplace. Pay is fair but not worth the mental trauma. Greedy senior management, have no idea about Miele customers and their expectations, company philosophy or ethics. Cannot say what office work is like. 



Great product, shame that senior management are so out of touch.
Engineers are expected to work 24/7 whilst management sit back.
From an engineers perspective, top of the range van, quality tools and training, full uniform, laptop etc.
Good discounts on products too.
Work/life balance is a big problem, so much so that a union has now been bought in to assist in future development plans as managements demands on staff we so bad.
Given the chance, I'd go back to them tomorrow but only if the management structure had changed from the very top downwards.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Only the name. The work atmosphere along with it's management team is toxic. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management is toxic. No value for hard work. Booth licking of management who are mainly elderly women who have no experience in the field is largely appreciated. No work ethic 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful and unrealistically intimidating 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Unpredictable. One can never know how the management team can change your plans

I answered customer queries and emails and had a great team of people that I worked with and we all got on really well like a small family. 

I learnt amazing customer service skills and how to deal with challenging customers.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with the disgruntled customers which were being extremely rude.

The most enjoyable part of the job was helping the really nice customers and receiving gratitude from them. One lady actually sent me a card to say thank you.

Miele was my last job before I relocated to the States. My co workers were great and always helpful,as were the team leaders. There was a great work environment and opportunities to progress further within the company by having monthly feedback meetings with your Team Leader to talk through how you are progressing and where you see yourself in the future.

It was a great brand with a lot of history which is evident when you visit their HQ in Abingdon. They have a great canteen with lovely food at good prices. Most of the staff are very nice and help where they can. I guess the problem is that the work load, presentations, hectic sales meetings was so much that there was no work/life balance. You were at the beck and call of your clients non stop, working day/night & weekends just to keep ahead.
