Newcastle University (NU) is rich in culture, filled with great individuals at all levels, and offers lots of freedom and flexibility. You can easily find a healthy working environment.
There seems to be decent amount of opportunities to grow.
The pay is poor generally, but not below average within academia. Poor pay is a sector wide issue not NU specific.
Pension scheme is a joke.
Management seems to be a little disconnected with reality as they keep talking about supporting health and wellbeing of employees while doing nothing when those employees do actually raise demands.
