Norbrook is not up to standards within the pharmaceutical industry. Floor staff are currently being underpaid approximately 30% less than other competitors within the same sector (Although they are currently addressing this issue to some extent with the introduction of pay rises based on your grade). They got rid of overtime a few years back and introduced "additional hours". This technique was completely self destructive and created a negative morale for all operators ever since. This tactic to save money ultimately will cost them more as high staff turnover is at an all time high. Brexit has caused big pharma to make a move to Ireland and this added competition may prove detrimental to the continuity of the company if these mistreatments to staff continue to assist. Root cause of this problem lies with Management and directors. The grading system is disheartening many loyal operators as young inexperienced staff are coming in on higher pay rates. Middle management won't stick up for operators  in a fear of rocking the boat. Some senior management 
appear grouchy most of the time and completely unapproachable.The company needs to evolve and fast

As recent speculation has been realised, Norbrook has offered redundancy to what can Only be Described as the most Capable Workers in the Factory. People who have gone above and beyond to progress through the Hoops Placed Before them, and who through Hard Work and Dedication to the company, Have climbed the Level Ladder and who are Now in Level 4/ Assistant Managerial Positions.  Norbrook have Chosen to eradicate these contracts in Favor of the Lower Paid Salaries, and Part time Workers, who Without the Aforementioned Employee's, will have no drive to Continue working at the Pace they Have been, and will fall into Complacency in their role. The Staff Morale is Abysmal, the Higher Management, through their Lack of Attention, Or Pure Ignorance, have Neglected the Fact that they are to Blame for any of the Short falling performance of the workers Below them. These Factories have a Family Mentality Within them, and these Redundancies are Sure to Cause Major RIpples in the smooth Running of the Factories Going Forward.  Avoid Norbrook at all Costs.

I began working for Norbrook Laboratories in 2010. My only regret is not applying for a job there when I left school. A typical day involves liasing with customers, sales reps and warehouse staff. I have acquired a great deal of people skills in this job and how to please the customer. The management team is very approachable and are open to suggestion at all times. The most difficult aspect of the job is accuracy with regard resource codes.  Just one digit out could result in the wrong product being shipped, therefore attention to detail is absolutely vital. There is excellent job satisfaction and I often receive emails when timed deliveries are received as promised. Welcome back emails after holidays are always very satisfying too. There is a fabulous sense of equilibrium within the company and each employee is treated with the respect they deserve.The reason I want to leave now is because my husband is retiring this year and he wants me to retire with him.  I am not willing to do this as I feel at 56 I still have a lot to give. Therefore I have agreed to seek part time employment.  Norbrook does not offer part time hours.

Days off are not respected (flexi holidays not approved 4-10 x a year without motivation) impossible to keep them for next year or get money for unused days.
Impossible is to get unpaid day off.
Impossible to go outside of factory to doctor / bank or other offices or go to home when someone feel unwell. 
Always necessary is to take a prove of appointment -doctor must to sign document to confirm that employee of NBK had an appointment this procedure is that often that doctors doesn't want to sigh this papers now because they are not employed by NBK.  
When someone is sick HR is asking very private questions eg. bring box after pills give name of your sickness or how many times you visited wc. 
Disciplinary investigations are going against everyone and all the time.
Management mostly is highly educated and very professional but HR is working not for people but just against them they are looking for reason to sack someone.

The managers on the packaging floor are unqualified  and have very bad manners. Low chances of changing   the department from packaging to any other one in Norbrook  unless you are bad and useless worker because then managers are looking to get rid of you. Conclusion: The worse worker you are in Norbrook the better for you and the better position you gonna get in Norbrook. Also managers also like to give jobs for people they know outside of work not for people who deserve it. Recommend this place but only for short period of time until you gonna see how bad this place is. Additionally recently a lot of people is leaving and people who Norbrook is employing to replace them are basically useless ( no offence , I understand they don't care because they only have contract for 6 months so by the time customer is gonna complaint about any of theirs mistakes their contract's gonna end ) but it is only a matter of time when all worthy workers are gonna leave Norbrook.

Induction training is very intense , however was mostly not related to the role and seemed to be an exercise in signing forms for the company to cover themselves for any health and safety problems . 
Role was advertised with certain benefits which are then found not to be available . 
Leave can be difficult to book and can only be booked on the company app , which is not available on iOS platform .
Team members and staff are friendly . Management can be inappropriate by texting and calling at weekends and nights regarding non emergency matters . 
3 different sites , each with their own practices and you will be expected to know all of these by end of first week . 
Management can be quite sharp and make comments designed for a reaction . 
At times , I found myself doing two peoples jobs when management was not present and looking .
You will possibly receive a verbal warning if arriving at work 20 minutes early . 
 
 


I would definetly recommend doing any other job rather than applying to work here.
The leadership team looks down on anyone that works on the floor of the factory. They are constantly changing rules and expecting people to adjust to them piling more and more stuff for people to do and still expecting the same output. This company only takes from you no matter how hard you work for them you will get 0 appreciation for your efforts. 
Also the more you give the more they want and are never happy with what you do. 
Morale is destroyed in here and nothing will be done to fix this. 
More and more people leaving everyday and for good reason really go somewhere else

Worked here for a number for years and since the company got a new ceo the moral just went from bad to worst,depending on where you are working you could have a manager that dont even take on board anything you say, there are rules on top of rules and expect you to know them all,and not to mention all the paperwork they give you to do, and if you make a mistake you could lose your job over it, there are people just going round looking to give you a warning over not wearing the right ppl.would definitely only recommend a job here if there is nothing else.

Norbrook indeed was a good place to work. The people working in there are easy going and fun to be with. Situated in a calm city of Newry, away from the hustle of Belfast, Norbrook has got its own identity. Started my work here as Quality Control Analyst and I've learnt lots of new stuff from operating equipment to preparing reagents all under cGLP. 
Norbrook as such would make an excellent choice for any beginner. The pay scale is good, compared to others in the market and it's a easy going place when it comes to employees.

Having recently worked here for many years, it's all change. My old dept is rudderless, new manager came in last year and didn't bother to introduce himself to the dept. 
I heard they started trialling overtime rates but only in one dept. 
Canteens are nice and have been fixed up in the past few years.
My old manager was Great and easy to deal with. But HIS manager hasn't got a clue.
Salary incentives have recently come into effect but too little too late for some.
