This company can be an incredibly rewarding and enjoyable place to work. The hybrid working they offer of 3 days a week from home is a big plus to the role offering a good work life balance, even allowing you to choose one of those office days (the mandatory one is Tuesday) No weekend work and bank holidays off is also a big plus, as is being able to buy more holiday (up to a week).

The enjoyment and reward you get out of this role is entirely dependent on you and if you can get into managments best friends club. If you can’t, expect to get pulled up on every little thing you do wrong no matter how tiny or inconsequential (they will also insult you behind your back), all the while managers and supervisors making the same mistakes, sometimes worse ones in day to day basic tasks and even coming into work on Mondays hung over! But what they do is none of your concern if you report it. They are at least honest in the job adverts now where they say “must be able to handle constructive criticism well” *criticism* NOT feedback, that is their mentality: criticise, chastise, demoralise. 

There is also a culture of forced and borderline toxic positivity within the office. Heaven forbid you are having an off day, not grinning ear to ear for 8 hours every day in the office or not finishing your teams messages with “😃” or you’ll be accused of being a “cloud of negativity that brings the whole team down, I want positive vibes only in my team” (despite the fact they isolate you from the rest of your team on a different row of desks when you are in the office)

Progression within the department is certainly possible, they do favour hiring from within which is a good thing, it is rare however as once a person gets into a management position, they tend to stay in it due to the favouritism perks as they are far more likely to promote someone they are friends with, wether they are actually capable at being in that position or not and you are expected to treat their word as gospel despite them having a “do as I say not as I do” attitude and then leave at 3pm everyday so best hope you don’t need a manager between 3pm and 6pm. 

My advice to higher ups at PIB is that they need to take a long, hard look at the management of this office because it is rotten and corrupt to the core, multiple people have left citing the same issues in their exit interviews but nothing is done about it as they are just very good at hiding it when they are looked at by higher ups or prospective employees (you will never get to use the pool table).

All in all this is not the worst place to work and some colleagues are great, making the job bearable (I worked here for a good number of years before things got too sour and I’d seen too much behind the curtain). 

So just be wary of the fake smiles, favouritism and hypocrisy from those in charge of you and you will do fine. At the end of the day it’s a job, not a family. 


New management made a terrible impression. 
Too much was piled on after a whole team left and nothing was heard. We worked constantly and tried to explain everyone's mental health was suffering. 
We had a great team before new management and being busy was never a problem. Support was provided where needed and we had excellent managers. 
After the new managers took over our department. Floor staff and managers where separate and it was made clear we wasnt friends or their as support for each other. 
More and more staff left and new people kept leaving. 
Had a great team until the last 6 months, they was all ran into the ground and left.
If you have a opinion or need help with anything, management do not offer support and can be quite rude. If you mention going higher, it goes round the office you are a whistle blower 

The job itself was fine, repetitive and easy to complete when trained correctly. Remote/Hybrid working impacted training as no staff treat the same scenario the same. Learnt that we are easily replaceable. Management used to be great, since PIB took over the management was mostly gone and replaced with people who have no experience within the sector and had minimal respect for their staff, making comments on their appearance, setting and changing rules but not following them which was a poor example to set. Hardest part of the job was the lack of flexibility with work from home, work from office and the change in systems meaning it affected staff more - also removed profit shares and implemented more KPI’s which were hard to hit but when hitting them, minimal rewards given. 

Enjoyed working for PIB for a few years but more recently, after gaining new management, it rapidly went down hill over a 6 month period. Micromanagement and a lack of people skills really took the morale of a whole office down to the floor. It went from a very open environment where discussions could be had across teams to effectively work through any hurdles, to the shutters coming down abruptly and no further discussions allowed. Everything had to be a secret which was not the environment we had all previously been used to. This led to numerous members of staff, line managers and managers leaving within quick succession as it wasn’t the great place to work it once was, which is very unfortunate as previously I would’ve recommended working here to anyone.

Terrible company, with constant unfair treatment and pressure piled on to those who do work so that the call centre managers group of friends can do less, constant rule breaking of regulations by some staff goes unmanaged as it would damage the friendships out of the office, and forget progression, you get tricked into thinking you can have a role so they can get you to work more, then hire somebody from outside the company who just happens to be friends with the managers. If you notice a breach of FCA regulations or a possible legal issue you better hope it’s not the call centre managers friend or you get pushed out for reporting 

Management was extremely toxic. They would leave me in the room and tell me to compose myself before coming back in. I would recommend you to be a mentally tough person to work in their corporate environment. Not suitable for graduates/trainees. Further, the management wasn’t honest with me as they promised to move me to the Lincoln office and never did. Apparently I wasn’t ready even when I was working very hard. Also, the management talks to HR on a regular basis so no point talking to HR about any issue.

The recruitment team were lovely and really personalised my interviews. I joined in lockdown and have felt fully supported throughout from learning the ropes remotely to getting to know the wider business through a wide variety of online channels. This is the only company I have ever only worked a 35 hour week with an hour for lunch, makes a huge difference to work life balance. 

I have recently joined the PIB Group as the Group Recruitment Manager.  I have been hugely impressed going through my interview and onboarding process all remotely due to lock down.  I have a wonderful team and support network around me in HR as well as the wider PIB network.  A growing and ambitious company and an exciting time to join a growing company.

PIB is overall a good company to work for, as with all larger companies it depends on the actual department and manager you fall under and the people you work with rather than the company it’s self as they are the ones that make the company what it is! 

Closed one or more sites recently causing job losses. No stability , jobs are not safe no matter how long you have been here.  You don't get informed or big decisions until last minute.  The atmosphere is low.
