Protyre is a company under micheldever tyres, who brought up nearly 300 garages throughout the UK.  now they have done that they understandably want to maintain a consistent standard of work throughout their centres. However the way they try to do that is straight up patronising, they’re going to send people in who talk to you passive aggressively and will start patronising you, they’ll act like a primary school teacher one minute then start raging the next if you query or question anything. The best part is, most of this training was obsolete within weeks as they had changed their mind monthly on how things would be ran, therefore obliterating that consistent standard of work across the centres. most of the higher ups (area managers, regional training managers, etc) have little to no experience in the trade , most of them wouldn’t be able to fit a tyre or tell you how. Hence why the area manager will give you unrealistic targets and humiliate you in a meeting with all the other managers in his area. I came into this job with over a decades experience in the trade and was more than happy to walk away from them as your over worked, given far too much stress for the workplace and underpaid. I’m happy to say a few weeks later I started working for a small family run company I’m being paid very well and have none of these issues anymore and that’s because we have no involvement with protyre or micheldever 

The best part of working for protyre Stafford is mat and the team. It’s very hard work though. Long days, not many days off and not a good work/ life balance.  Salary is ok and they tell you about bonuses that are way too hard to reach and they don’t mention that if your outgoings as a depo are high, you don’t get your bonus. You get whatever bonus is left of the depos outgoings , if the area manager doesn’t take it for himself first. In house centre manager aka mat, is good to work for and always tells you when you’re doing well. He will help you in parts you’re struggling with and don’t belittle you if you make mistakes. He’s not the sort of manager who sits back and barks out orders, he works and gets his hands dirty as much as his team. His team are very helpful and friendly. The pros of working at pro tyre Stafford are cheaper parts and tyres, the staff, the bonuses when you get them and the customers. The cons are, the hours (sometimes have to work 10 days straight before a day off) they are always short staffed so your work load is none stop and very stressful and tiring. Work life balance (live to work not work to live). The higher managers( they push you way too much to achieve the impossible and they take all the credit) 

Company is all about the money. No care is taken for any of there staff. We are all just a number. Bosses & higher up managment is so rude & dont have a care in the world for there staff. They always ask how to improve there centers and when you tell them 6 months later nothing changes. One of the worst companies by far i have ever worked for. Not only do they not care but the wages are very poor & bonus scheme is usless and never get rewarded for your hard work. Every person that ive known has ever worked for pro tyre has said how poor the company is. Even when i was on a training course every member of staff was moaning about the company saying there leaving. Every vehicle never got what it really needed & everything was thrown together with poor equipment. Office staff were always too scared to tell the customer what was really wrong with there cars and would let them take there cars in very poor condition. Then they would return moaning that there is issues with there car and we would be to blame. Awful the way the whole company is run & every centre.

Good training long hours van and some tools will be provided. Company hub 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Definitely the call out which can get too much at times then you are not allowed to come in work any later if you have been out all hours of the night they expect u back in 8 :30 next day even if you have been working from example 1am right through till 5am they still expect u in on time 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor management decisions always being told the company is moving forward but managers are masters of certain centres downfalls due to poor decisions from a management perspective regarding changes to the business. (They always try there hardest to make your job more hard work and over complicate things)

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Okay providing your good at your job as soon as you make a mistake be prepared to be threw under the bus.

-Staff does not last long , from one month to a the next if you’re lucky. The company robs you of bonus and overtime and holidays constantly month in month out, The amount of work expected in one day is simply unachievable. Even the customers around unhappy. Honestly avoid this place even if you’re desperate on your knees there is so many more places to work Then Protyre. I’ve been a massive asset to Protyre the level and quality of work I’ve put out is 2nd to none and yet they haven’t looked after me one bit and simply don’t care they’re attitude is we will find somebody else. Don’t be pulled in by the salary they’re offering or even what they verbally tell you. The level of corruption I’ve witnessed in my time there is simply unimaginable, working your socks off constantly for absolute nothing, everybody I’ve worked with in my time there including myself have suffered serious mental health issues because of the conditions.



directly from my own personal experience  main management are all ex Hrds and K/F rejects so all follow each other like dogs on heat to survive,company actually organised a witch hunt to prove whether i really had died from serious illness and was coma-tised in hospital didn't even get a apology when i proved them wrong. reduced my salary for 30 mins less a day, and refused to give it back when i got better. blocked me even for the national % increase. discovered emails on signs to look for to question whether i really was going for medical support. promised to get more staff. failed epic-ally in 9 months! actually pushing good mechanics out for cheap young and now foreign labor! regularly skirts the edges of employment law. unfortunately they blame other "lower classed job role" colleagues for their problems.  actually asked for uniform back as budget couldn't afford new clothes for the new starter who was in rags. says lot!

If you like working on your feet all day, having blisters for the entirety of your employment and prefer a small wage, this is the place to be. Line upper managements pockets while the people who make the money suffer, no support or training is provided, you'll be lucky if there is even first aider where you work longer than described and the company doesn't acknowledge the working times regulations so don't think you can spend your unpaid hour doing anything other than work, so add another 3 to 6 hours onto your contract each week. There isn't a bonus either because you only did 99.99999% of your target, and if there is a bonus, it has to go towards a general maintenance repair for your depot. All in all go to a employer that will value you not Micheldever or protyre. Also quite expensive to customers and always let there best workers go

Constant moving of goalposts. power struggle between upper management 
New processes constantly.managers just keyholders and the bottom of the poo running downhill don't even get me started on bonus if you get close they make sure you don't get close to next one

Toxic pressure from upper management your the problem not the processes 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful being checked on every day bombarded by emails far too many chiefs with made up jobs while the people on workshop floor get minimum wage and unachievable bonuses

On a plus they paid for all accommodation/breakfast and evening meal whilst I was on a course.
Staff discount isn't too bad compared.
Another plus.. if you can get in with the motorsport teams that's definitely a good experience.

However day to day is all about data capture and sell! Sell! Sell!.. 
Not really concerned about staff wellbeing or pay, just put on a front for and baffle you with b*llsh*t. Salary range they advertise on here is not entirely true.. they will offer you the lowest possible and that's it, might be lucky to get more if you know management.

"Bonus scheme".. LOL, "potential targets".. 
You do well, work hard the bonus gets smaller and the goal post moves further.

Lads are really good to work with (my experience). 

No work life balance with your 1 day off.. well suppose to be 1.5 days but you don't always get your half day.

Don’t work for this company they will not appreciate you in the slightest and will get rid of you at a moments notice once you put your time in. Complete lack of communication and the general idea of respect is completely lost to them, they will demand that you do things you’re untrained to do or feel unsafe doing and will sell you down river just to save their own cheeks. If ever you bring actual concerns to them about anything going on you will be met with a script they all follow because that many people before you will have complained about the same thing. You will be berated by higher ups and if you stand up for yourself you will be made out to be the problem in the situation.  Full company needs burned down and restarted, never worked for bigger fools in my life.
