Minimum wage to sit and get screamed at all day. No support whatsoever from management. You’re lucky if you get a text back. Owners are incredibly greedy and if you aren’t in their little clique you are done for. You will go home and cry every day! Everyone is expected to just get on with it, even if you are new you will just be abandoned and expected to know your role. No recovery monitoring for patients after surgery and SVNs being left as sole charge overnight at the hospitals. No break allowed on a 10hr shift, you have to sit and eat on reception while serving clients. They will take take take and you will never receive anything back. You’re expected to do overtime at other branches at the drop of a hat with not extra pay or fuel expenses. Not even a thank you actually! The whole place is badly organised and your mental health with suffer greatly working here. 

There's verity in my day to day from walking dogs, reception/admin to cleaning kennels and offices and helping the nurses and vets. Most of the management are ok but not everything is perfect (but I've never worked anywhere the management are all perfect). I think in general everyone gets along. And will help when needed. My least favourite part of the job is covering other branches which involves commuting for up to an hour and a half, this doesn't happen often enough for it to be an issue though. My favourite part of the job is how rewarding it is. Sometimes a poorly animal just needs a cuddle and we are lucky enough to be able to give them the attention they need whilst they stay with us.

I loved working with the animals.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This company has awful organisational and communication skills. Zero training was offered but then you are ridiculed for not knowing something you were never taught. Also saw mistreatment of deceased pets leading to multiple staff members quitting and reporting them. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, rude, cliquey, bullying 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always nice seeing the animals, customers sometimes lovely, sometimes stressful, managerial team and work group chat ALWAYS stressful and toxic

Work is busy and stressful. Environment is toxic. A lot staff talking behind each others back. Unfortunately this is something the head vet does too. There's no support, you'll be dumped in your role with no one to help.
Pay isn't bad by industry comparisons, but it is bad for the amount of work and stress. Very unprofessional place, no one in charge, no one cares. 
No progression, unless your drinking in the pub with the boss. No one else matters.. 
Would not recommend.

The people, really nice and friendly

It wasn't any stress for me. I found it quite chilled

It was fine, I got on with everyone

I was the night driver. Some driving some cleaning

Easy and relaxed job with some decent mangers. However there's no chance of progression unless you suck up to the bosses or happen to work at their favourite pub. 

Not a good practice, management not clinical and ignore you

Not adequately staffed- students with no guidance

Standard of care is poor, corners are cut to scrape money together.

Profits are not reflected in the facilities

There was a lack of structure in the work environment. Although management appeared to listen to employees’ needs, no effective solutions were implemented. The staff, however, were friendly.

unless you're best friends with the manager it is an awful place to work they treat you horrendously. DO NOT RECOMMEND working for this awful company.
