What is the best part of working at the company?
Warm friendly atmosphere with good resident relations.  Purpose built setting with ensuite shower facilities and space for standard equipment in every room. 
 Setting is conducive to calm amid green spaces and there is easy access to parkland for little visits out.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Most shifts are long so this can mean little time outside work for a spell if doing several in a series, though often able to arrange a better pattern to suit.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There are open channels of communication so it is easier to ask to clarify tasks and gain learning.   There is a friendly atmosphere with very much a feel of an extended family home environment so being at work can feel almost homely.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There is a pattern to the day with some intermittent less scheduled time when tasks can be done  ad hoc and a window of time for a quality experience can open up.  Good routines help ground staff into a feeling of competency and belonging as staff are guided into what is expected and can progress with a schedule of tasks.  Working as a team helps provide some flexibility in how this is accomplished and shares the load.

Very poor management. Carers left to do all the work and very poor staffing numbers for the amount of residents with high needs and very physically demanding. No career progression and a very high turn over of staff due to poor management. Staff over worked and underappreciated using a "guilt culture" to entice staff to cover shifts due to staff shortages. I left around a year ago and have been in touch with current employees and have been told it is getting worse by the day and is now mainly staffed by agency workers due to so many permanent staff leaving. 
Training only provided once in the period of 3 years whereby moving and handing should have been updated yearly.
If you want a busy shift, you will certainly have one here but expect to soon burn out and leave your post.

The current management is outstanding and help each member to succeed. The management has an open door policy and accommodate most of our request and reprimand the staffs with love.  
Most days are fill with fun and cooperation among staffs, although some days many be stressful due to human recourses shortage in cases of staff calling in sick.
I have learnt new strategies of caring and support, get updated in e-learning trainings and advanced in my skills,
I really enjoy working in riverside care home.


The place has gone down hill tremendously in the past couple of months, due to poor management! A tremendous ammount of staff have left in this time. Putting only one nurse in the afternoon, which has greatly reduced the quality of care. Management using bullying tactics towards staff, telling them that they are not at work to be friendly with the residents and chat with them - which in my opinion is backwards. Stay away at all cost - unless you want your mental health deteriorate rapidly.

Very unfortunate as this used a very pleasant place to work. 



Riverside used to be a really nice place to work, staff and residents were very happy. However over the past few months it has really gone down hill, staff are unhappy and stressed and there is an unpleasant atmosphere. Management has gone down hill massively and you are not made to feel supported and appreciated, they display bullying behaviour. 

Home management is not interested in home only money , has no time for staff that have kept the home going while not having manager doent understand how hard a carer job is only about bring in next bit of money getting new staff in that resident don’t understand and not trained 

The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the peoples faces after you help them or even give them company so heart warming, it's such a lovely place to work for with lovely staff and service users I loved my time there but sadly left after complications and health problems with my pregnancy(not work related)

I used to work there. Management were horrendous. The duty manager was really horrible.  The best part was the residents and SOME  of the care assistants.  The hardest part was there is not enough staff to give good care. Company just thought of profits instead of the residents.  

the home and its staff are amazing as for the management they have no idea what to do, nor do they even know their service users well. as when I worked there it was a night shift and the manager was on the house side of the home and she rang over to me to ask with night pad one of our service user had

Worse place I’ve ever work. Staff are bully’s and no support off the management. Would definitely not recommend. Care staff are verbally abusive to the residents and I certainly would not recommend anyone putting their relatives in there
