It appears that there is now blatant favouritism with staff promoted to Management because their face fits, without any kind of recruitment process, regardless of whether they are actually suited to the role or can even do the job.  There is an increasing divide between the staff and the Senior Management, with both sides viewing the other with mistrust and suspicion.  It seems that because of this lack of trust and respect, the only way they can manage is through fear, so bullying appears to be condoned and encouraged across the organisation, from the top down.  Communication and empathy seem to be generally discouraged and it can be difficult to feel valued by your manager.

With regards to the IT and technology being used by the company, it feels like almost every system in use is broken in some way, leading to frustration for the staff.  Senior Management are forever gaslighting the staff by saying the IT will be fixed or improved, but it's rarely improved in a way that actually makes the job easier.

If you want to work in a place where you can advance by brown nosing, are happy to turn a blind eye to bullying and don't mind working with backward systems, this could be the place for you.

Some of the staff perks include- Final salary pension scheme, flexi time and flexible working, car leasing, bike to work, free health MOTS and flu jabs, summer and Christmas staff parties, walking clubs and weight loss clubs, boot camps in the summer along with excellent training and development for staff including paid further education courses and a range of NVQS.

I always found management to be open to ideas and the Senior Management team offer a real open door policy.

If a fast paced commercial environment is what your looking for Rykneld isn't the place for you, it's all about supporting tenants and making the communities in which they live the best in the area.

I would start work at around 8am and finish at 3pm so the hours were very reasonable. I gain skills such as better communication and also confidence. The work place varied a lot when I was out of the office visiting tenants, however in the office it was a great working environment. All the staff were very friendly and made me feel really welcome. The management within the company was exceptional. All the staff were treated with great care and the company was very organised. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people everyday. The hardest part of the job was dealing with unhappy tenants. However the staff deal with this in a very professional way and always leave their tenants happy.

Bullying management.
No progression unless your 'facefits'.
Senior management have no idea how or what goes on & performance figures are not a true reflection of the truth.
These people are so wasteful, pander to Cllrs & are at their beck & call and respond to tenants in order of those that shout yhe loudest. 
HR dept are employed by the company- not biased, not independent- 100% work for the company and the union represented by people supporting the senior management. Corruption.
All reviews are dire- staff turn over is ridiculously high.
Salery good for positions if you can stomach the rest.

Worked at rykneld 6 years, after first month was told to join union or wouldn’t last long. The money wasted on managers and new job roles that weren’t required is immense. Managers that progress at this company don’t care about there work force just brown nosing there way up.  Managers also use bullying tactics to get what they want, Mental abuse wide spread. Business needs a major reform.

I worked here over 10 years although the money was good the senior management gave no leadership no policies in place and in make it u as we go along attitude.Many of the kpis are fiddled.Staff who have not got the correct qualifications are made in too managers many staff are been bullied also

I am part of the Community Improves, the group is made up of young people that live in Rykneld homes. I help out at local Gala days and also help them with any events that they may need help with. We go too meetings and also have people come in to talk to us, for example, we have people that talk to us about cost of living ect.

Working both independently and as part of a team was valuable. Training was first class. Support from trhe team and management were very good. The work was rewarding and fulfilling, enabling vulnerable adults and elderly to remain independent in their homes.
