What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at SCL is supporting the students who are genuinely motivated to learn and improve.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working at SCL is dealing with persistent disruptive and, at times, abusive behaviour from students while receiving little consistent support from management. Staff are often left to manage challenging situations alone, with limited intervention or follow-up when issues are escalated. This creates an environment where maintaining a productive and respectful classroom becomes increasingly difficult, placing ongoing pressure on staff and impacting both wellbeing and the overall quality of learning.

My job role at SCL was one of a remote nature. Looking at managing and developing sports educational programme as part of non-league football clubs. This role has allowed me greatly developed my ability to plan and deliver presentations, lessons and courses around given subject areas. Also, due to the remote nature of my role it has allowed me to develop in administration, communication between key stakeholders and the public and finally organisation of running multiple courses and deadlines alongside each other. 
A typical day would see the delivery of pre-planned educational programmes and the monitoring of learners placed on the course. As with any educational role it does require a lot of hours in order to complete the workload. Co-workers can be good at sharing good practice to aid in development.

SCL used to be a great place to work, it was family owned and there was a real feeling of togetherness. SCL was always about their values and what positive impact they could have on the learners. 

Last year SCL was taken over by investors which has totally changed this as a place of work, the focus is now on how profitable SCL can make each site by cutting resources and packing learners into sites. The moral is very low from all staff as they do not get clear communication or visions for the future and the constant cost cutting is impacting the safety and security of the learners. 

I have loved working for SCL, since being with the company I feel I have been given opportunities to really showcase what I can do. It is clear that SCL are always looking for ways to be better, and they encourage all members of staff to have the same attitude. Management are always supportive and happy to help you to develop you skill set. It is quite a fast-paced environment to work in, and organisation is key in being successful, but I personally don't think this makes the role any less enjoyable. Honestly, the best education environment I have been involved in. 

Very laddish culture!  Not a fair company to work for.  The management are dismissive of staff and do not trust them.  You can work very very hard for very little gain and not much recognition.  The culture is very cut-throat.  There are a lot of new members of staff who have come in and changed the atmosphere - not for the better - hence the original staff who have given a number of years have moved on.  Management are not bothered by their loyal staff leaving.  Don't leave your safe job to work here.

Quite a stressful place to work. Management would contact you outside of work hours, including when you weren't contracted to work, or were on annual leave (this happened frequently). Pay is low when you factor in how much work you actually do (work at a college and you'll get paid more). Lack of support from management and they really don't provide what they say they will. They have a very high staff turnover and now I understand why. Most enjoyable part of the job was working with the students, least enjoyable was management/support.

With supportive training staff and a young energetic team, this is a good place for apprentices and those new to coaching to learn their trade. 

Workplace culture is positive and encouraging in the main.

There are opportunities to progress but these are limited and not usually financially rewarded significantly.

Work hours are friendly and usually enjoyable however you will be required to work Saturdays which isn't made clear at the start.

I absolutely loved my job here and the team I worked with. It was a shame that the promotion I kept asking for was never given, so unfortunately I had to move on. It’s great to work fully remotely and to have a decent benefits package, I felt fully supported by two of my managers but there is a real favouritism and ‘who you know, not what you know’ on the managers/directors board which means only certain people are given opportunities to progress. There are way too many directors here! 

They are a very good and making sure there staff are happy, it is a good job to start off with, and it is a very good job opportunity if you dream of being a PE teacher.
a typical day would include looking after children while also making sure that they have fun by playing many games.
Management is very organised and they care about there staff a lot. 
the hardest part of the job is hard to describe it is only hard if you make it hard yourself.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing children smile.

The SMT is extremely clicky, and have worked together for years, at various training companies! There’s a lot of talk of “working together and plenty of support”, however, there’s a huge blame culture, along with a bullying nature! There are plenty of emails bouncing around, along with many meetings, however there’s a lack actual support where needed, and then huge pressure when the gaps start to arise! Very much a toxic environment to work in, and there’s dread each morning when it comes to logging in!
