My typical day at work started with opening and sorting incoming mail and distributing it to the correct departments.
We then were required to deal with incoming phone calls from customers and either deal with the quieries or put them through to the correct departments. 
We quite often had to to send out thousands of Mail shots for covers for our furniture so our days were spend completing a target amount for those all the while deaing with incoming calls and any visitors that may have came to the factory.
At the end of the day one of us dealt with the ourgoing mail and got it ready to be collected by the Royal Mail.
