Management rarely available to assist in strategic planning. Co-workers mostly available and very knowledgeable with a distinct lack of communication between sales and factory activities.
Good progress was made between strengthening the working bond between Sales & Service whereby customers were appreciating the joint approach.
Customer Care & Feedback was recognised as a vital part of performance delivery improvement but slow to be driven as a company-wide improvement approach.
The products themselves were top quality and it was always a pleasure to be able to promote, sell and service accordingly.

The business is, most fortunately a very profitable one. Cash wealth seems to have covered up for poor senior management for a significant time.  Culture in the business - some of the correct modern things are in the business but not all.  Those that are in are more "lip service" rather than actually built in to the natural culture.  
The business has a mix of old long term employees and newer ones.  the longer service employees are rapidly disappearing for a variety of reasons.  With them goes lots of experience and information that is not documented properly - so it will be lost.    A couple of really good managers are trying their best to save it,  but not enough support from above.

Significant opportunities, innovation and development encouraged however sometimes restricted. Data and systems limit advancements at pace but an organisation of very capable people to take the business to the next level and beyond. The majority of people are friendly, helpful and give a family vibe, extremely welcoming and supportive. Most difficult part of the job is siloed working and structure of the business causing unnecessary delays, duplication pf effort and inefficiency.

The management isn't good and have no idea how to do your jobs and just guess everything.

Horrible management make it hard to go to work because drama is caused alot of the time. We turned up to work and always say what drama is in stock for us today

Okay some day terrible some days

I really enjoyed my time at Spirax. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The team I worked with was more like a family and the wage was really good. They a lot for the environment and local community. The only reason I left is that I was offered a job closer to home that was too good to turn down. I would definately work there again and I would recomend Spirax to family & friends.

The only good think is the benefits. Other wise not recomend this place. Training not done propely! Night shift redudancy have been done uprofesionaly! Instead they  offers new  afternoon shift for 6.50£ less/h. Its not a safe job to pick up. The business is not stable,so you my loose your job after fiew months!. Due to the luck of work orders. Matrix skills mean nothing!!!Because you can be the most experience person on several machines and still get the same Hourly rate as the ones taht work only on one machine.

Getting paid weekly and overtime

Very boring work, prison like mentality

Clean and safe,
Culture of unhappiness due to boring work and very limited chances to progress

8 hours of boredom ,
Trying to stay sane until break time and end of shift

You get paid regularly in the same day ea h month

Management cares more about the products than their staff!

Poor culture, Management don't care what happens to their employees as long as the product gets out the door

Very stressful environment constantly fire fighting

I worked for this company for over 15 years, progressing through the business doing various roles.
I learned a great deal from using a bespoke computer systems to understanding some technical engineering.
The management were extremely supportive in alll roles, helping me to progress and understanding any issues and needs that I had.
The most enjoyable part of the job for me was the great friends that I made whilst working there.

A great work-life ethos is apparent with excellent resources in the field and in-house. My role was new and under developed with little opportunity to grow outside of pre-set high level leadership approval.
The products are world leading but complacency and the corporate drive to increase profits is damaging the overall value Spirax can offer customers.
