During my time here, I’ve learned a great deal about customer service, communication, and the automotive industry as a whole. I’ve developed stronger problem-solving skills and learned how to handle challenging situations professionally and efficiently. The role has also helped me grow in confidence and refine my ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

The interview process was exciting, if a little intimidating, my initial interview was conducted in a square glass office (think 22 Jump Street) where the whole team can see any new candidates. The interview was well structured, but what captivated me was the buzz you can hear around the building, people on the phone helping customers, making sales, that was the selling point to me. After 2 weeks training, which was ample time for me to come to grips with the call/booking process, I was put on my first set of calls. The company do this in a great way to ease you into it. Rather than just being thrown onto the phone and left to fend for yourself, I was put on an "outbound" call only in which I would call customers rather than them call me. This gave me plenty of time to prepare myself for the call, think of what I would say to the customer and how I would respond to certain questions. After a few days of outbound only, I was placed on incoming and outbound, which is where the company and the team shine. I will admit, sometimes the volume of calls is high and it is hard to catch a breath before you are onto the next customer and helping them. However, this being said, the high pressure of this environment is what I loved the most, the fact that each customer has their own needs and availability is what made it challenging and fun. The team leaders and managers are there every step of the way, be it advice for what level of service a customer needs, a quote for a price or dealing with a complaint you are never on your own. The team ethos here is outstanding and the bonus structure is great too, if you have the ability you can earn very good money here, however the standards are high and you can lose your monthly bonus if you don't follow the process (it happened to me).
All in all, if you are looking for a friendly, fast paced environment in which you will feel like a valued member of a team with the option to earn a decent wage then look no further than Stoneacre Motor Group 

Worked here for over a year and not once did I feel welcomed. When I first started I got minimal training and got put on the phones within 2 days without much experience. You have to learn everything yourself and even after been told you can ask for help managers got annoyed with having to go out their way and even more annoyed when you did something wrong!! Benefits and commission can be good if you work very hard, and when I say hard I mean until you feel mentally exhausted. Many people there have gone off sick with depression due to being over worked as well as myself. And even when you've worked hard it's still nearly impossible to hit your target and earn good money, the money is there but to get it is ridiculous. I've never worked for a company so bad before in my life, they don't accept any excuses and most of the problems come from the managers!!! All the team leaders are jokes, they don't care for anyone but themselves and if you're not making enough money for the company than you might as well not work there. Even after hitting all my targets and going beyond I was still told that I was behind. None of the managers know how to run a call centre all they know is how to make people miserable and hate your job until you leave. Everything they promise will be a lie and a false truths as long as they are getting paid everyone else in the call centre doesn't matter. Loyalty gets you no where with this company do think twice before applying. You can be outstanding at the job but you won't ever see any benefits in your wage because as soon as you make a tiny error they will take money out of your wages and you can look up to 200+ in so called 'fines' for stupid little things that doesn't make a difference to the job because the job is a load of rubbish and so are the people that work there. So much for a family run business.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful aspects were the limited commission structure despite sales expectations, the constant performance monitoring, and the strict attendance policies. The fast-paced nature of back-to-back calls, combined with minimal downtime, also made the role demanding on a daily basis.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I initially joined the role believing it would be a strong pathway into car sales or management, which was appealing. However, my experience didn’t fully match those expectations. The role provides exposure to a high-volume sales environment and helps build resilience when handling continuous customer interactions.

That said, I found the commission structure to be very limited for a sales-focused role, with relatively low rewards for what can be challenging upselling. There were also strict policies around attendance, including financial penalties for lateness and sickness, which added pressure.

The working environment could be improved. Calls are back-to-back with little time for preparation or note-taking, and facilities such as social spaces or a canteen were lacking. From my perspective, the company could benefit from adopting more modern processes and tools, as well as being more open to new ideas. Staff turnover appeared relatively high during my time, with a noticeable number of new starters leaving within the first few months.

I’ve worked in many call centres before so I have experience with how they run, but this place is terrible, managers up themselves and have their favourites (blatantly obvious when you sit back and watch). There’s no real chance of progression unless you are willing to suck up to the managers. A couple of examples of working there, you get a 30 minute break half way through your shift, so you can go eat/drink, now if your a team leader or other management you can have upto two hours and then come back to your desk and say “oh we lost track of time talking about blah blah blah”. You are allowed hot drinks at your desk if it had a lid on obviously, but if that drink runs out your not allowed to go make another until your break. However the team leaders and managers just go and make themselves one whenever they want and also in a normal everyday mug/cup with no lid on. Hardly fair to have this one rule for the minions and then allow them to parade around waving it about infront of you. Also there is a no eating at desk policy (also understandable) but then also team leaders can sit there at their desks eating what they want when they want even though they have the longer extended lunch break. They also prefer it if you don’t have an opinion about something, that won’t go down well at all. The majority of staff I saw leave their roles there were all done in the same way, wait til payday and then don’t go back, it’s even the way I did it. You’ll understand when your there. Good luck if you take the job.

During my time working for Stoneacre at their head office. My overall experience has been negative. 

Training was ok, learning to use their computer system (which could be made simpler), how to deal with customers, and learning the scripts.

When you start working on the office floor, that's when my experience started to become negative. Cold calling customers to encourage them to book in their service and mot with the company (where the prices is too expensive) and not their local garage. Also if you manage to book them in you are forced to offer extra services to the customer (again the prices are way too expensive). 

The majority of the customers you call aren't happy that you are cold calling them and forcing them to book in a service or mot with Stoneacre, knowing that the prices they are offering is too much or their previous experience with the company was very poor.

The supervisors can listen in to your calls to see how you are doing. If you are not following the script or not doing well they will speak to you on how to do better. When you go back on calls it made me paranoid that they will constantly listen in to my calls and to find the smallest deviations of the script or mistakes to give them a reason to speak to you again.

Looking back I should of known from day one of what they advertise on this site didn't match what I expected when I worked their.

The only benefit of working for this head office is the people you work with. 

The worst management I have ever experienced. Micro managing would be the best way to put it. 

They make out the commission structure is achievable, which it is if you’re liked by management & are happy to be a minion. They will take away your bonus at any given opportunity and look with a fine toothed comb for any mistakes to take the money back. 

There is absolutely no empathy from senior management. Family emergency? Find someone else to go. No childcare? Sort it. It’s not their problem if you have an emergency out of work, however if you’re senior management you can come & go as you please.

If you call in sick, you have your bonus taken off of you & will be spammed throughout the day with phone calls asking you to go into work there and then, if not, when you’ll be better & they offer you the option to have more toilet breaks if needed - such a great gesture.

Toilet breaks are timed, and if you go over the allocated toilet time, it has to be made back on a dinner break, however if you get stuck on a call and are working into your dinner or after you’ve finished, you don’t get that time back. 

All in all, you’re nothing but a number & easily replaceable. If you value your mental health, avoid. 

At first it was pretty slow, but the more experience you get on the phones the more enjoyable your day is. Some days can be long when you are getting voicemails all day but it goes fast when people answer. Everyone is on the phones so you don’t get to speak to many people. Having confidence is key to being successful on the phones, it can be scary at first and then you over prepare and over think but once you’ve been thrown in and people answer your calls, you realise it’s actually not that scary. Management are always ready to help if you have any questions or need any further training/coaching in your role. A typical day in the BDC is coming in and running all your bookings from the day before then getting on the phones and making outbound calls to existing customers to get them booked in. As you earn commission on your bookings, it is an exciting job to be in, and you can set yourself targets for the day ahead, and when you work out how much you have earnt for the day it can be really rewarding. If you set yourself a target of earning £10 in commission in a day, when you hit that you feel very happy and proud. Then it’s competitive in the sense that you can try get more bookings than your colleagues, and if you have set yourself a target you will fight to reach it. 

Currently employed after a takeover. Thought it was going to be better and oh how wrong we were. Sheer incompetence reigns throughout higher management and accounts departments. Constantly contradicting themselves, just stick with one way, it's not hard. Concerns are not dealt with in the correct manner. Random new employees with no advertising ever being made. You do not have a chance of progression and if your face doesn't fit you are screwed. I didn't choose to work for Stoneacre and I woud'nt again. I fear alot more staff will vacate the recently took over sites and they will be left with people who are inexperienced. However, if you are a yes person and give into their ideas no matter how stupid they sound You may go far. People come from head office and tell you how to do your job and they don't have a clue what it's like in the main dealer. The systems in use are absolutely terrible and take alot of time to get around. Bonuses were more or less unachievable. Prepare for basic wages. There are better places to work. This is the worst place I have ever worked.
