A day on the shopfloor consisted of mainating a very high and proffesional standard for our guest. Making sure with what they were looking to find was easy enough for them.
Size ordering garments was paid close attention too as we wanted to provide an all size available shop for our guests which made their experience within The White Company a greater one.
If we perhaps did not have an item on our shop floor or our stock room for a customer then we would always uphold our best service to provide an 'order online with us' that very same day from the store itself.

I learnt a great deal of skills with my time as a supervisor at The White Company. Skills which involved overseeing our ATV, UPT, TRAFFIC, CONVERSION, BEST SELLERS, LEAST BEST SELLERS etc and how to take control of them to boost companies targets.

Managment were always Happy, Polite and offered a great amount of staff incentives as a thank you and welldone on behalf their staff.
Nothing was too much difficulty for them and would always try their best to ensure our jobs were satisfactory.

Hardest part of my job role was having to settle an upset customer if this was related to either a product, a promise or his/hers service.

Greatest part of my job was being able to get all hands on in providing our guests with product knoweledge.
Keeping costs at bay and keeping in mind what exactly our customer is looking for.

My job was only covering another member of staff who was taking maternity leave.
I had a maternity contract, with the role of full-time Supervior.

A typical day at the White Company would involve finding out whwich areas or tasks I would be allocated to for the day. Then I would carry out tasks within that area including replenishing stock for that area, keeping it clean and tidy and face to face customer services and assistance.
I learned more about people skills and how to assist customers effectively in th est way to help generate sales for the company.
Management was a small and professional team who were very helpful and conciencious in their work.
My co-workers were very easy to get along with and very hard working. I met many different kinds of people from many differen parts of the world and of different cultures and backgrounds, however we were all able to work well together as a team ad everyone was well spirited with a good sence of humour so I was able to fit in well and gel with them instantly.
The hardest part of the job was aiming to retain sales when the store became very busy. Some customers would become impatient when waiting for products which needed to be checked for or collected from the stock room which was located q bit of a distance from the store itself.
My colleagues wereb very nice and easy to get along with which was very enjoyable and made the day a pleasure. Also I would sometimes assist with the window displays and store decorations and mannequins, which was enjoyable.

I worked at White company as a stock associate, It is a very good job for fresh starters and part-time workers.However, My Main point is I want to progress my career, and I want to have a personal life balance.If you are thinking in Full-time position think it twice.The shifts are between 7am-22pm the point is anytime...I finished 21:00  and come back to 7 am a lot of times during my working period        ( Christmas and summer the company always ask to you to do Nights shifts too, do not get me wrong I am flexible but I want some Personal life.Even if you served them for a long period, the same shift goes for everybody ( Treadmill I call it)  THE WHITE COMPANY POLICY.  Payment higher than Min wage, but if you have to travel (Like me) then its pretty much the same, because you can not find a cheap rent in Central London.So you travel and pay your money to public transport etc.Management is colourful e.g there are some bully managers,  some of them nice helpful only 2 if I rethink it.And a general Manager does not give a .... about you,you're a piece of meat. For a person like who wants to progress and willing to learn new things this company 2 stars, Big disappointment.I give 3 stars because of products 4 stars and job security 5 stars too.As well as the name is catchy, but that is all.This is the Stock life in THE WHITE COMPANY.Full of Evil Clowns. (:

- Huge focus on service to achieve key performance metrics. 
- Supervisor role is to lead a team, direct and support. 
- Often contradictory messages delivered from management team about tasking and service. 
- Supervisors must never stand still, even if that means you are doing a sales advisor job (which contradicts the idea of supervising and delegating and being able to jump in when needed). 
- Fresh ideas aren't welcomed by management team, depending on the store. 
- Individual supervisors are monitored by the management team. No team spirit, especially if store / general managers do not share information.
- Multiple supervisors on duty at the same time creates too many cooks in the kitchen if those other supervisors aren't confident or highly skilled in collaboration. 
- Can often be left on the shop floor on your own for an hour and just the VMs / Stock room assistants
- Retail ops and customer service HQ team are great and you an build some good relationships with those teams to support the running of your store. 
- There are better places to be a supervisor. Watch out for the store management team.

First of all, the products are ridiculously over priced, not good quality considering what you are paying. It's very hard to sell a product when you know its not worth buying. Staff can be very snobby about the brand. My supervisors honestly just loved to assert their authority over me unnecessarily. When asking me to carry out a task they would never say please or thank you and always came across very aggressive. They often made rude and unfriendly comments about me and my colleagues but we just had to shrug it off because they were 'supervisors'. They would give me a brief before every shift covering what money we had earned and lost in that week/day, they would shout this within customers earshot which seemed very unprofessional to me. I was a student so there were times I couldn't work, they knew this and would put me on the rota at these times anyway. It was either ridiculously quiet and boring, in which case you would have to pretend to be doing something or you would get told off - or it would be crazy busy and you wouldn't have a chance to breathe.The pay is good but they could pay me 10x more and I still wouldn't work there.

My day would start at 6.30am as i would be dealing with the deliveries before the store opened for business from then i would deal with customers to shop security and even assisting management. The skills acquired from working in retail can be many, i learned how to operate new till systems and increase my communication skills, merchandising products to organizing the entire back house of store. The management was friendly and attentive to my needs at times but at times was on the edge and that would be where i would need to take charge and manage myself to increase the store productivity. The co workers were all female and fun to be around socially as well as with in the work place, bubbley and good team players. The hardest part of my job was standing 8 to 9 hours at the front doors with out having the right clothing to deal with the severe weather in winter and the most enjoyable part of the job was sharing experiences with customers and having a variety of jobs to attend to which made my work day much more interesting.

I worked Part time Evenings at The White Company, so I would arrive into work at 6pm and work until 10pm. I would Answer Calls form two lines; An enquiries line and also an orders line. I demonstrated exellent customer service to every single person that I spoke to, weather it was my first call of the shift or my very last one.

Working at the White Company I learned about all of the products that they sell and where the come from and how they are made, so that I had a wide range of background knowlege behind me for the customers benefit.

As I was only a part time employee of The White Company I Rarely came across mangement it was mainly team leaders, but in my week of training on 9-5 hours I found that the management and team leaders were all very supportive and approachable.

The Most difficult part of my job was Keeping up with the systems and using the online tracking systems for the different courrier companies as there was always something to pick up about how to use them.

The most enjoyable part of the Job was the people that I worked with and also the customers that I spoke to, it made going to work a joy.

This is the worst environment you can possibly subject yourself to. 

The calls from customers vary from majorly busy to dead but either way you get moaned at. The customers are mainly wealthy with first world problems that you actually have to pretend to be sympathetic about such as 'oh you only got a 10% discount how awful' or even better 'your top arrived creased? Well that's CERTAINLY not what we would expect let's replace that or you!' You will never be backed by a manager who all have the just do it and get them off the phone view. 

The management do not care about you and it is an environment that if you are not slim with long hair and the best fashion sense then you will not progress.

Th hours are shocking and they will use these to push you out - enjoy working 9 weekends in a row? We'll this is the company for you! 

Just put it this way, there's a reason why staff tun over is so high and why all of us 'long standing' staff are leaving.... The degree graveyard is not worth the application.

I worked here a number of years ago and opened the Chester store. Many of the part time staff left as the manager was a bit of a nightmare to work with. After the first manager left, it felt like it started to become a nice atmosphere and environment to work in. There were plenty of training and progression opportunities, everyone worked well together and it was enjoyable. When the third manager came in, things were done differently but it still felt like a good place to work. I still keep in touch with most of the original TWC team. 
Pay was probably the one of the only downsides, minimum wage at the time and also you didn't always know what your working pattern would be each week until the Saturday afternoon, which was frustrating as you'd be expected to call in most of the time to check if you were expected to work the next day.
Discounts were good and hours offered were brilliant, especially over Christmas, plenty of overtime opportunities. The only reason I left was due to relocation, I would have happily stayed and progressed.
