What is the best part of working at the company?
Seeing young people experience things outside their usual sphere. Watching them achieve and sometimes exceed their potential 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Overseeing a volunteer workforce and knowing that they can walk away at any time leaving the group to juggle their responsibilities too

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's okay, we're all there to support the children 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Paperwork - risk assessments, performance reviews, staff training, system and legislation updates. They tell you "it's a couple of hours a week " but it's usually closer to 2 a day

I have been in Scouting for my whole life as a young person growing up through the movement I learnt a variety of skills which I have been able to apply to my everyday life.

The work involved with being a Scout Leader is always fun as you get to inspire and educate a generation and take part in some amazing adventures and challenges. The most rewarding part of the work is being able to see the young people you lead grow and develop into fantastic adults.

It is overall the best place to do work, the salary is only 1 start as it is Voluntary Work so it is not paid.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Meeting new scouts,cubs, beavers and young explorers as it helps to get to know one another as well as strengths and weaknesses. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Honestly, keeping everyone in check.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nice, calming and creative.
Friendly staff and individuals.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Only on at night time but good fun and local

It really helps you give yourself a confidence boost in anything you do. It helps with your people skills, and any fears you may have, and they will stand by you, ensuring that they will help you through. It helps you to have fun, and not stress about the little things, and it’s really helped me out in my day to day life; it provides you skills that you never thought you would achieve.

really fun place to work. you have to face different challenges daily with different levels of difficulty. the most enjoyable part of being a Leader is that you get to join in with many activities and events that take place like Rememberance sunday and St Georges day Parades. the most annoying part of being a Leader is if the Beavers dont do as they are told or hurt someone and blame it on someone else

I started volunteering 2 years ago as part of my DofE, I have enjoyed it so much that I am still there with no plans of leaving in the future. The staff are supportive but also encourage my independence and confidence as a young leader, the kids are great and a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the community.

Where I an working in a small team to provide a fun, safe and joyful experience to cub scouts between the ages of 8 to 10 and a half years old. 

Skills I am building on are my team building skills, leadership working with others as a group and on my own.

XXXX Explorers gets to have trips to nice camping areas and different parts of the country. Regularly meet at the hut on a Tuesday evening, 7pm to 9pm. I am a member not an employee but I do help considerably towards the funding of our events and trips. I am one of the older explorers and help the young ones with the activities and games as one of the Patrol Leaders.

The Scout Association is great to volunteer with as you get to know many people and go out on a variety of adventures as well as extra training opportunities.
In essence even if you only have time for 30 minutes a week I would suggest that you look into volunteering as it is rewarding In a multitude of ways.

Developed my responsibility as I was in charge of young beaver scouts, this meant that if anything happened I would have to take full responsibility.
I was also trained to do basic first aid as a part of this volunteer work.
Communication skills were enhanced as I had to communicate with other members of the team and the children.
