Call centre type work in a friendly and supportive place. Management from CEO to trainers and team leaders all an absolute pleasure to work for. 

I learned more about Wine!

Management really are great at motivating and supporting everyone. Even though there is a huge intake of seasonal advisors over Xmas you still feel like you are treated as an individual and cared about.  

Workplace culture is excellent. Its really nice to have raffles or fancy dress days and tastings. 

Hardest part of the job is dealing with deliveries that don't arrive. The external delivery companies e.g fedex can be pretty useless at dealing with enquiries so you then have to apologise that they have lost orders which is not a nice part of the job since you want the customer to be happy!

Most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction of helping nice customers and working with the rest of the team who are great.

Easily the best place I have ever worked with a very family support feel. It’s the type of place you dont realise fully how lucky you are until you leave. 
I really treasure how such a successful company can have such “small business” attitude, where there is focus on knowing everyone around the business and how you all are part of the bigger puzzle. 
The contact centre can be very overwhelming when first starting as there really is endless amounts to know. But you are given such great support around you throughout. 
There is great opportunity to progress with wine knowledge which really helps the job become more enjoyable.
You are not given pushy sales targets, however when busy it naturally does because higher stress due to constant calls. 
Overall amazing place to work with opportunity to develop within wine (I miss it!)

Amazing people to work and some of the managers are very supportive. You get to speak to very interesting people on a day-to-day basis and the work-life balance is great. The company pays for WSET exam and staff discounts and perks are great especially during Christmas.
Some managers tend to micromanage which can be inconveniencing. Another downside is career progression especially because many of the staff have been there for years. Wouldn't recommend working there for too long if you're looking at climbing up the career ladder.

The environment is very clean and the workplace more relaxed than others but unfortunately many of the staff employed in the warehouse have various screws missing. You have people who are supposed to be part of a team standing around in the afternoon instead of helping other areas finish so you can go home before 4. Bullying from a handful of psycho cases doesn't help either and they only do it because if you respond you obviously lose your job.

Anyone looking to work for the wine society would be making a great move, probably up there with the best places to be employed.

Delivery in the weeks leading up to Christmas

Would jump at the chance to work for the company, great all round 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Delivery of wine in some of the best places in the country

They expect you to deliver in places that are not accessible for the vehicles they provide, and then penalise you when you can't access the delivery or get stuck in a muddy country road with your tyres stuck and then they say you shouldn't of gone down the road. 
They give you ridiculous areas to cover in a short time so expect to finish late

A fantastic company in which I developed administrative duties, including answering phone calls, processing orders and new member applications.
I was the first point of contact with dealing with all enquiries. I had to be able to adapt to the needs of the individual member and ensure all their standards were met.

Very good company to work for, opportunity to study WSET to build your knowledge on wines of the world, and able to help the members on their search for good wines. enjoyed my short time there.

start about 5 some mornings which was great,early start early finish.
i passed a couple of wine trade exams.
the mangers were ok until the 3/4 years
the hardest part was when they started messing with the wages
the pleasant part of the job was delivering to customers

Wasn't a bad company to work for but wasn't the best. You work 9+ hour long days and get two 15 minute breaks to help get you though the day in which you can just about get a conversation in and eat a sandwich. Pay is great, spend majority of the day walking about if you're in WH2 but other than that, it's alright.
