I started of working here with no knowledge of plants and all the staff were very helpful and willing to teach me. It become obvious after 2months that wasn't  liked very much by a few women I worked with. Stopped helping me with jobs, slagging me off to other work mates. Spoke to the manager, and was delt with and was fine till a new supervisor was hired. The out door supervisor is a very horrible person. You can not go to the toilet without her searching for you and timing you. Again spoke to the manager but it was clear I wouldn't be backed up. Shorty after I was sacked without a reason. With no warning at all. Management supervisor and owners are terrible. All the staff and kind and friendly but for sure they will be talking behide your back.

A typical day at work involved constant maintenance work; fixing toilets and shed doors and sorting plant trays into order. Not exactly what was in the job description, LANDSCAPE ASSISTANT. Not once did I complete any work within the landscape department. Management were ridiculous! couldn't remember what days I was in on weekends, unfair dismissal in my eyes, You work as hard as you can and it gets thrown back in your face, wouldn't even bother applying for this role, job description is completely misleading, all staff and friendly and lovely great people to work with, just not the family or management.

My day at work is usually action packed ,preparing lunch, prepping slicing, chopping etc. My manager is a very nice person, but not willing to stand up the the owners if we need some support. My co-workers are all great have fun but also work hard too.
I find the hardest part of the job is if I am working twice as hard as my co-worker in the kitchen is quite a challenge as they can't or won't step up to my level of work, Love going to work, get on well with my co-workers and always have a giggle and fun .

Worked there for a little while. They overwork you, and treat you as you are beneath them. Never had bosses so rude before.  Don't know how to treat people and can't be trusted. There is such a low morale amongst staff and they are constantly complaining. I can see now why they can't keep staff. I thought landscaping would be landscaping. Nope. Glorified grounds and maintenance staff!

Great place to work the  majority of the people that work there pull there weight as in most places, I  would recommend anybody to give it a go , I think  most people would find it a pleasant experience working there ,  you're not going to earn a fortune but you know what you're going to get when you start . It was ok until I left I got on with staff and done the work I was told to do answering customers questions,customer service,loading and unloading. Delivery s stocking and pricing products on shelves,store tidying and cleaning duties,helping load customer cars with bought items.

Fun workplace and lovely stuff..  I thoroughly enjoyed working at Thurrock Garden Centre During the Christmas period such a magical friendly place to be.
 I was one of the Christmas elves I had an amazing time Would definitely love to work there again

The management expect you to do the work of 5 people with not even a thank you ! Such a bad place to work it’s extremely unwelcoming and uncaring. Owners and managers sit in nice calm offices while the staff are worked to the bone

Thurrock garden centre was a good part time job for me to get a first real look at working in the real world. Even though I didnt know a lot about plants the staff were very friendly.

Never have I felt so out of place at my work place. I didn't feel accepted and always felt out of place to everyone else. Very two faced and never got a thank you after our shift.
