Every day held a good variety of tasks and challenges.
 
I learnt that my skills were of significant value in organising the structure and new go to market strategies to increase sales, margin and profits of the company consistently year on year.

I played a key role in the management of the company on a day to day basis and in steering it towards the growth that it needed.

My co workers and I interacted well learning from each other as we opened up each new opportunity.

The challenges lay in preserving the history while creating the future.

The enjoyment came from planning the changes implementing them and getting the results that were predicted.

I love my job at Ultra Electronics.  It was a varied role not just admin.  I could fill in for people when they were away and provide help to departments if they got busy.  I like to be useful in the work place.  I like to start my day fresh so if i had any unfinished work i would come in early and complete it.
I learnt a lot over 13 years, trying new things, learning new skills, finance was one of them.  Although im no accountant i was able to put invoices and purchase orders on the database and match them up.  
I will try anything and if i dont know how to do it i will learn how to do it.  
The company was a nice a place to work, it was like a family and i was very sad to leave

They look after their employees, i have never worked for a company who are so invested in training, developing and the continuous improvement of their staff! It truly is fantastic. They have a fantastic culture, where everyone's ideas are supported, recognition is given by managers and employee's to each other, the work is varied and interesting. All together just a pleasure to come to work every day! They pay well in terms of salary and are always running programmes for their employees or raising money for charities!

Everyday would start the same, organise my team and their workload, goto meetings, oversee production on PCB's make sure standards are kept to customers specifics, work areas are kept clear and tidy.
I learned new skills going from a complete novice to supervisor within six months, leading a team of 12.
workplace culture and management could have been better.
hardest part of my job was working with unorganised areas of management teams and not having the right materials to do the job.
most enjoyable was customer satisfaction. and the production of the end product.

Fantastic team at Ultra good work ethic and very good social activities if required. i.e mountain biking club. Hardest part of the job was COVID and team members working from home so had little exposure to learning from them. MD was very focused and my manager was great and we worked well together. Sadly i left due to traveling as the journey was quite long every day but in hindsight wish i had stayed as it is a fantastic company to work for. 

I used to love going to work and do my daily task.  Ever since I started there a year ago there were people made redundant on a constant base.  Finally it was my turn.  I am very disappointed as I was hoping to spend the rest of my working life there.
We worked well together as a team and it was pleasant working there. The benefits are good and it was conveniently close to home.
With the big turnover in staff the personality and atmosphere has changed dramatically and people are very disheartened.

I started for Ultra Electronics Ltd Sonar & Communication Systems and saw a great deal of change for the better in most cases.

During a company split I worked under Communication & Integrated Systems which acquired several companies and saw our division grow and expanded very rapidly.

I enjoyed my time here as it helped me grow and develop and build great relationships with my co-workers which made working life easier when issues arose.

Plenty of training in place to ensure you are suited and capable of the role. (Production operator).
Great, friendly bunch of people and plenty of opportunities to learn on the job. The more willing you show and the more effort put into work, the better the rewards. 
Brilliant home/work balance in terms of hours and being flexible when necessary.

Typically you know what is expected of you and you carry it out day in day out, some courses required to be carried out in order for you to carryout your role at the company, these take place every 2 years. The management is not of a very high standard and the structure needs to be improved. The opportunities to progress are limited, the most enjoyable part of the job is hopefully doing what you want as long as the role is your desired role.

A business run by a management team that has one objective : to continuously reduce headcount and expect the remaining people to do more and more. No training, no managament support, no processes and if you raise any issues you will be let go immediately. Management by chaos from the most abject management  team you could imagine. Morale is so low, I've never seen such a turnover of staff. A good business destroyed. Avoid like the plague.
