Unibox

You really do need to work here just to see how bad it is run . From the top down it is chaos and I have never known so many people who “ work “ but simply don’t know what they do . I had the role for around 18 months and I didn’t know if I was coming or going . Good paperwork and organisation is lacking massively in the whole of the company to the point where people on the shop floor know more than the paperwork they are given . You are poorly managed on a daily basis and if your face doesn’t fit then you will know about it . The product they make is a good product and some people on the shop floor a good to work with but trust me the disorganisation from the top down will sap your brain . Managers cover up each others back so you have no way of actually making an impact but it gets you to the point where you stop caring . No chance of progression either as the roles are all covered by friends / family with a subtle hint of nepotism thrown in . You have to be careful what you say at times . 

It did have a social event while I was there which was good but that was about it . 

Would I ever work there again ? No 

Overall I had a good experience at unibox where I was taken on as an installer/operative. The job lead to me spending 90% of my time in the factory wiring bespoke electrical panels for the pods team. I got great opportunities travelling to do installations and travelled to different countries representing unibox. All in all I was happy there, only bad thing to state is they made me redundant 3 week into the lockdown when everyone was furloughed, this was unfair as the government was funding keeping people in job's. I was offered my job back but only because my colleague left and they needed me for the electrical panel wiring position again. Great company but bad experience due to covid-19 and a bad decision from management in my opinion

I worked at Unibox for 3 years and when I started it was a good place to work . Sadly it got worse to the point where I no longer enjoyed it . There are so many managers who don’t know what they are doing . One will tell you one thing then the next one will tell you something else . It’s disorganised chaos with poor leadership . Some great people work there but it seems they have been there a long time . Some managers are really poor at organising workloads but seem to get away with it . 

Paperwork is poor and you are expected to know what to do even if the paperwork says different . You are pressured to work overtime when busy . Some of the social events are good where you can bond with other staff members which is great ! 

Good product but poorly organised from the top downwards 

I was a Unibox when it was originally run by the founder but since then it has a new management / MD structure . This is the main part to the problem . It’s a toxic environment to work in and is only personal reasons that they either keep you or get rid of you . 

Inter relationships / family connections and personal views are all used against you even though some staff are bullies and racist to other workers . 

Management is poor and don’t think about speaking out about this as this is connected to the MD so will fall on deaf ears . I have raised issues for them not to be investigated and was made out to be the troublemaker instead . 

Sadly it used to be a good place to work but sadly no more . It will mentally destroy you 

Good products, big clients, interesting projects and some nice people, however a complete lack of organisation and very high staff turnover.
There is no real structure in place, the managers run it on a make it up as you go along system which leads to problems on most projects, you're constantly having to replan things over and over again due to someone else's lack of planning. Make it very frustrating if you've worked elsewhere with a proper structure in place and you can see where they are going wrong.
Could be a great company with someone at the helm who has experience at a big manufacturer and knows what needs doing.

A fantastic company.

The people who work at Unibox are fantastic, all the way up to management. And they do encourage you to succeed if you show willing.

I really enjoyed my time at Unibox and I would recommend it to anyone, I had a fantastic manager too.

Don't let select few negative reviews put you off, which is why I felt I had to leave this one. I feel they do not reflect the company well.

Producing lightboxes and bars of different sizes, great job.

You can learn alot and challenge yourself.

HR & management are very nice people. 

Hardest part of the job was trying to get along with a female staff member on the factory floor.

I worked at Unibox in accounts firstly as a temp and then for the last two years before retirement as a permanent member of staff.

I enjoyed my time there and made friends that I still meet up with from time to time. 
 
Unibox is a good caring company along with good social events outside working hours.

I liked working here, a good mix of different types of people and personalities so each day was different. They reward staff with incentives, bonuses and perks often, the staff parties were always good fun. The location was great for me with free parking.

Great place to work, staff are really helpful towards each other.
Fast paced, innovative, great products.
Teams work together to get the best possible products delivered to the end user.
They work with a lot of leading retailers, the products are really well made.
