Almost every single employee is overworked, the level of management is farcical, there is no comprehension of the working time agreement health and safety is an afterthought, no training, no job progression, HR only look after the business and not the workers. this may seem the opinion of a disgruntled employee although it is not, it is a fair representation of working life at Wanzl LTD, they have a very high turnover of staff because everyone is stressed because the management is a terrible click that cover for each other and find scapegoats for their failings. 
Wanzl ltd pay slightly over the industry standard rates of pay and people get stuck in a thankless, stressful and depressing job because the become a slave to their wage, if there wasn't so much overtime available on their engineering side (Symonds uk) then they wouldn't have any employees left.

They have started to push low skilled people into management positions as a way to save money and use these people as scapegoats if anything goes wrong, lots are doing jobs that are several pay grades above.

Their lack of health and safety and training is amazing for a company of its size, they run poorly handled refresher courses which last 20 minutes covering 20 or more subjects 
(some of which the staff have had no training on), when each of the subjects should take 20-30 minutes to cover properly, cost cutting exercise which will cause a serious accident.

MHS dept is an absolute joke. No overtime paid until you have worked 48 hours and then you’re not allowed to work more than 56 hours a week. They will count a day off in the week as working time and also count your lunch breaks as working time also so even then they stopping you from earning money. Most of the work 98% of the time is gates and mobility scooters. The whole place is an absolute joke. 13 engineers left between nov and jan and more are leaving in the coming months. If you want to earn money forget coming here look at other companies who value there staff and look after there staff. They will watch your times and vans like a hawk on the tracker. Uniforms are just cheap and horrible. Upper management are just trying to claw back as much money as they possibly can to boost there overall profit margins. There is no incentive to work for WANZL at all it’s basically a dead end job with no progression , no up skill to achieve more money. Pension contributions are laughable at best. 

Wanzl throw bodies into roles with no training, no support and little guidance, this a an accident waiting to happen.

my time at Wanzl was short lived, i could't work in their dangerous chaotic environment, its only a matter of time before there is a serous accident as there is no such thing as training provided and they don't care as long as your'e attending jobs and earning them money. their actual slogan is "Cash is King" 
I've worked as an engineer for most of my life and worked for several big and small companies over the years and still Wanzl uk are by far the worst. no management what so ever, when there are short falls the management blame the engineers or the warehouse staff for the shortfalls. blame culture to cover the lack of management, there is a total disregard for peoples mental health and well-being or their health and safety, all they care about is keeping the customer happy, which i agree that the customer comes first but NOT if health and safety have to take a back seat first...

they sacked and engineer for trying to exert a statutory right, now everyone is too scared to ask for the correct holiday pay that they are owed.

Love working here however I need more money for me and my big family at home, I start work from home monday to friday between 6am finish 2pm, or start 530-130 latest I can start is 8am, latest I normally start   my 8hour shift myself is 7am.

No traveling costs doing 40hrs a week working from home, sometimes up to 48 covering other drivers or doing add hoc work.

The business is changing and I now have my class2 lorry licence to fall back on.

Im taking my class1 test soon and thinking about maybe taking my ADR licence also for better career prospects unless I find a job im happy with, with a good working day times/hours as i have a young family of 5 at home, I may do the odd night out also.

I may even be able to move up within my current company if there is any positions avaliable not too far from home as this is big company and I do like working here overall.

The employees of Wanzl have their hearts in the right place. No mater what time of the day it was I could get hold of my managers to discuss whatever I needed, the employees are just let down by the lack of resources available to them, this includes systems and additional employees.

2018 was a tough year in the retail industry which we struggled with and continued to find ways of reducing costs at the expense of the workforce.

I learned so much working for Wanzl however the work load was unreal and I wouid be on my emails from 6 in the morning right through until I fell asleep with my work phone. I’ve learned so much and developed more than I could have hoped for however now looking back on the amount I had to do compared with my new role, wouid i go back? Yes because of my own manager and the managers I supported however I don’t miss anything else about the business.

Trolly operative for wanzl in Wednesbury,  no clear leadership , no work life balance , management are bully's change your working hours at short notice and told to accept it or look for another job. You rarely get your unpaid breaks as it is constantly short staffed , plenty of staff went off sick with musculoskeletal injuries through the job and they were only paid sick pay although this was classed as an industrial injury and they were disciplined because of sickness. Wanzl management do not back up or look after the employees instead looking after the paying customer and leaving you to hang out to dry. Health and safety is none existent as long as the job is done and they expect you to stay over past your hours with no pay if all trolleys are not collected and again your threatened if not 

wanzl is  a great company that look after ther staff charismas bonus pay rise extremely reasonable with work hors so you will have a list of jobs to do and location but you git to arrange teh time and days you do them with the client and your working partner so no need to book a day off for dentist appointment jsut dont work that day the reequipment is that you fill you working hours ech work if you complete them in 4 day then 3 day weekend every week or you can do less hours a day and stretch it over the week i always felt extremely looked after whilst working for wanzl i left as i had meet teh limt for advancement within this company otherwise i never would of left at all
fantastic people to work defiantly would recommend them 

I started work at 8am, spoke to the HGV drivers and told them what was being loaded and where they was going and which stop box they should be in for me to load their lorries. Loading one lorry would take roughly around 1 hour. We would have about 19 lorries in one day. The finishing time would usually be at 5pm but we would often stay to make sure the job was done properly and safely, if we would stay later then we would finish around 7pm on average. Working at Wanzl, I learned about team work and good time keeping. The management at Wanzl were friendly, polite and happy to help, as was my co-workers. Working at Wanzl was challenging on a day to day basis. I enjoyed working with my colleagues and the environment I was working in.

useless management  made up of people with no skills or qualifications that i beleive led to death and serious injury to at least 2 engineers, made to work long hours  one engineer doing in excess of 90 hours a week  when on call made to work weekend  instead of being paid stanby so when you were doing a job in say birmingham you got calls to go to say newcastle on tyne which happened to me several times  on call one in 3 but if you went on holiday you had to ask another engineer to cover then do there  weekend meaning you could be working30 days without a break,
health and safety and the treatment of employes was poor peole given improvement notices without proper representation

Lets start by saying the term "Engineer" is just that..no one at management level is a traded/qualified engineer, by any stretch of the imagination, please dont work here if you are a time served/qualified Engineer , its like pulling teeth trying to improve things and offer better ways of doing things, there is a massive "click" with middle and senior management who protect there own, if you raise any valid engineering points especially within a fabrication and welding context then your accused of "constantly challenging" middle management and being abrasive.

I was only there 6 months but it felt like dogs years, genuinely only go here if your desperate and need weekly money (worst pay ever) , just switch your brain off and think happy thoughts.
