If you work in this company prepared for the follwing things.
1. Break is unpaid
2. Zero hour contract, they say they have contract but the fact is if you work 20hours a week they give you 15 hours contract so they be on safe side.
3.always issue while taking holidays. You are not given holidays more then two weeks. If you want more then two weeks then you have to left your job and when you are back, your job is not guranted even if you do you might not hold that position and start from begaining. Let say you are team leader but you have to work from team member.
4.blame culture, management tries every possible way to avoid themselves from being blame so they put the blame on their staff there is no support from manager or assit manager. The fact is that this manager make the thing bigger then it supposed to be. 
5. Your contribution and work effort is neither praised nor suporrted you need to know the people to survive here. 
6. Very low pay let say minimum and there is literally no gap on pay even if you work 2/3 years just mere 10 or 15 p. 
7. Constant work on pressure, understaff yet they want everthing on time and everthing done to its standard which really never happens. Working system in kitchen production and uñit is just unrealistic.
8. Experience wise if you work in kitchen you learn nothing as everthing is mechanise just be prepared to wash loads of sushi making machine as well as unit everything is just warm up. Onlything you here you learn is customer service and cleaning loads of cleaning.
9. Area manager and area chef are just good for nothing. Instead of listening to team member problem they are more into pressuring at staff.
10. Turn over is really high reason
*pressure of work even before being settle.
*no training provided as everyone is busy you are being left on your own so you to basically watch and learn. There is no trainer.
*minimum pay just basic just to survive from hand to mouth.

12. No bonous, wasabi way never works as bar is set so high like 98 percent and every customer says the service is robotic. How is it possible asking every question almost like 10 and more to evey customer while retaining that smile. Wasabi just increase bar from 95 to 98 is that they just dont to pay up. Its there only for shake. Even manager and chef bonuses went down who are we. Another is perks it is just nonsense nobody use it. They force us to use it. 

13. Management espically area manger and area chef have no idea how branch is run so indont expect from manager either. 

So in my understanding this isnt place to be working just avoid for good. Work only if you are in dire situation. 

Only good thing about the company is that you get free lunch but not everything. I have seen nobody eats this food after few weeks as you get bored and basically it is junk.

As far as food retail goes, this is an OK place. The management is alright, and they are trying with the training - which, for the record, IS paid, but after very little time becomes insufficient due to how busy the restaurant is. They are also a fast-expanding business, which gives the hardworking people opportunities for a relatively fast career advancement.

Still, this is food retail. That means sometimes extremely long hours in a crazy busy environment, which makes the job physically and mentally really exhausting, for a very low pay - minimum wage for at least the first three months, although the free meals are a money saver if you don't mind eating the same things every day. It also means zero-hour contracts, lots of double shifts, unpaid gaps, heavy lifting, hours spent in uncomfortable temperatures, lots of cleaning (on the plus side, because of that, it's a very clean environment), noise, and the curry smell soaking into your very being. Personally even on my days off I don't have the time and energy to socialise or do the things I like, just because I need more than half of the day just to recover from the exhaustion.

To conclude, this is a job that I would recommend to someone that wants to build a career quickly and without previous qualifications, that is young and fit, and doesn't mind barely making ends meet for a while.

I worked here for a few years the job is okay if you are just looking for a quick job for the moment but do not stay it will drain you mentally and physically. There is a lot of repetitive work like rolling sushi or putting nigiri on rice balls you cant finish until its all done but its zero hours?? 
The Wasabi culture is a dictatorship the pay was okay only due to it being located in the airport. Zero hours and big turn overs 
They want you to work as robots and it can be very draining at times 
I did enjoy working with the people I was with but due to pressure of higher up management it made the shop very tense to work in and caused  our management to lash out on us.
Then again food catering is the most stressful career you can take on.
I am happy I worked here because now I know what I don't want in a job and I think its a good lesson for people who are just starting to work but do not stay or let it consume you this place is but a pit stop. 
Dont bother trying to progress unless your going to do some SERIOUS Brown nosing and the wage is for team leader isnt worth it anyways

A typical day is very different as team work is very important and it’s one of the best things at wasabi as the team members are very friendly and engaging. I’ve learned a lot of new things for example how important a costumers journey is and how it can affect the business and I’ve also learned new ways to avoid hazards and plan out the day. The management team is very helpful and always there when needed and the way the company is managed is outstanding if plan a doesn't work they always have a plan B.
The work environment is always good to be in as the staffs are very cultured and we learn new things daily about each other’s culture. The hardest thing about working at wasabi is the travel distance but it’s manageable. The most enjoyable moment at work is 100% serving the customers and working as a team to get through the peak hours.

A typical day at Wasabi in Russell Square is energetic and fast-paced, especially during lunch hours. I learned a lot about food prep, time management, and customer service. The management is supportive and approachable, always willing to guide and help when needed. The workplace culture is diverse and friendly – team members work together efficiently and help each other out during rush hours. The hardest part of the job is keeping up with the high volume of customers, but it also keeps the day exciting. The most enjoyable part is interacting with customers and working alongside a motivated team. It’s a great place to grow if you're looking to gain experience in hospitality or retail.

Wasted my precious time for nothing. This is the worst place you can imagine. The management is stupid and useless. They just care about money, money and more money. There is no rights for the staff members. lickers and robots are kept happy and supported until they squeeze every bits of you but if you speak your mind they all will be against you. They will give you false hope of progressing so that they can keep the slaves from leaving. This is a very common dirty tactics that they use all over wasabi to keep the salve supply. The managers and kitchen chef want nothing to do. They just want to come in work and do literally nothing cuz "there clothes will get dirty". They don't even want to help the new comers. New starters are expected to learn in two days and they forget that it took them more than a month to learn.

Manangement clearly do not care for you as a human,  complaints about other members is unacknowledged even though everyone all share the same complaint  instead we are told managers trust the other team member instead of the numerous complaints. You are expected to do EVERYTHING, serve customers clean, restock, not minor restocks but huge trolley worth of restock, you are also expected to work 12 hours with only 1 hour break if even. You are also expected to work waaaaay past the closing time so typical closing time would be 9pm, other stores go home around half 9, wasabi workers unfortunately goes home nearing 12am. For the amount of money you get, it is seriously not worth it when you don't get an ounce of respect or gratitude for your hardwork.  Managers are seriously horrid.

what i learned that i can work under pressure a lot more its usually normal for me now especially every day is busy you also learn leadership also improve on it too
the management is great if you get along with the store manager and the assistant manager sometimes management has its ups and downs but fully flexible to your schedule
the hardest part of the job is your constantly on your feet, mostly tiring and you have to keep busy at all times there is always something to do 
most enjoyable part that there is great teamwork and most of your colleagues are friendly

I have worked here for last 6 years and it was good at the beginning but the thing start changing when it hit the financial crisis due to the bad decision. Here team member are paid minimum and there is no fixed hours due to which trunover is really high not only in bottom level but also in office level. Wasabi is prime example of modern day slavery and with minimum they pay is perfect example of sweat shop. If you are yes men and better at butt licking, You can survive here but not if your out spoken. Your ideas and views are never given consideration nor your work. I have seen staff working straught 6-7hours without taking a loo break nor drink because your being constantly pushed to delivered food on time. The amount of work given and time is so unrealistic. Staff are stressed, There is and always someone is breathing next to your neck....

I have a very supportive line manager and its a very racially diverse office which is great. Pay is slightly more than I'd expect.

I don't believe that Wasabi is a bad company at all, but it definitely is a place where you come to learn/grow before moving onto something better. I haven't been in the company for even a year yet, but I'm still considering my options to move in the future. 

It is a very fast paced environment and quite often, staff take their work home (not me).

The founder is too close to the business and inserts himself in everything when he doesn't quite have the knowledge. Luckily, there is a new CEO which can hopefully take over and move the company in a better direction.

Also, a very odd office location for the head office, a more Central location perhaps in the West End, closer to all of the actual stores would be better.
