What is the best part of working at the company?
The general friendliness of staff and managers. People say “hi” to you in corridors, but equally, will leave you alone if you’re not comfortable with that.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I found it to be a very supportive working environment but as is only natural, some colleagues in one team didn’t get on with their manager, so they found other jobs. The only real stress for me came from occasional difficulties with workers from other organisations.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relaxed, encouraging, supportive, hardworking, with a dash of humour when appropriate. WKHA try to communicate with staff about developments in policy, working practice, etc., and publicise praise from customers for staff and contractor staff, which is very nice to read.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
(I worked in the office 2 out of 5 days per week, with 3 days WFH) Drive in to work, and either park in the Town Centre Car Park or WKHA’s medium-sized Carpark (which you have to pre-book the previous week). Make a cup of decaffeinated tea or other beverage from the free supplies, log in with my work laptop and set to work. Lunchtime, there are any number of good sandwich bars plus a kebab shop within walking distance. 5.00, and it’s off to drive home.

Couldn't have had a worse manager, absolutely shocking behaviour. Was completely corporately bullied by her and discriminated against. Didn't follow the West Kent values at all. Reminded me of the geeky weird girl at school who got taken under the 'mean girls' wings and turned evil. 

However the company as a whole (minus 2/3 people) is incredible. The amount of time and effort that they install into their staff is a breathe of fresh air. I wish I hadn't been forced to leave as my passion for the company and job role is still there even today. 

Guess it just goes to show - people don't leave jobs...they leave managers!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Residents are great company. Mangers in the other schemes are welcoming and helpful

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The system they use (CX) is hard to get around and very repetative

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great place to work. Very clean and bright building. You work on your own mainly but do have other scheme managers that you can call upon if you need help

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy scheme. Residents always come by for a chat.

I loved my time with West Kent until I changed departments. I had been a good employee reaching all targets before deadlines gaining pay increases. Then I changed to a manager that bullied me during a period of Mental weakness during a Family crisis. My targets were made unrealistic ( as she assumed I would be a long term drain on her department) my emails were hacked and I had to ask for meetings in public areas to keep myself safe from accusations.
I never had issues like this before and have not since,

Good team and very friendly environment to work, co-workers are ever ready to help you if stock in any issue and my favourite Team was the IT unit. They were supportive in helping with any problem you might be experiencing with your device (S)

I am a resident member of the Scrutiny group at West Kent Housing and is nice to meet with others periodically and to scrutinise services provided by West Kent Housing Association. You feel a sense of accomplishment at every scrutiny panel. Is a volunteer opportunity to get involved.

I have been impressed by the culture and outward focus of West Kent Housing Association. As an organisation they constantly striving to provide a professional service to both tenants and workers. I would wholeheartedly recommend working for them.

When I first started the management was awful, luckily they were let go and the new management team was fantastic. A good balance between care work and social work both in the community and at bowles Lodge. Shifts were with 7am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm. 

Smaller HA with the benefits and disadvantages that brings.  Slightly old fashioned in staff management practices and has a Local Authority feel. Good pension

The company is a warm atmosphere to work with but some of the collegues especially managers are rude. the company overall is ok but i wouldnt work there again.
