Whistl don't care about you. I was pulled in by the people I worked with but that's about it. Nightshift isn't great money for nightshift and they constantly send you texts to 'ensure your full attendance because they're busy' when there's literally no work. 
On my induction I told them I already had something booked on my first week, they told me that was okay. I found out a week later my absence was 'unautharised' because I didn't tell them sooner... How can I tell you sooner when I don't even work there yet? 
After that more issues, the warehouse is a constant mess so you can never find anything and brings your rates down, they move locations so you can't find them, they constantly run out of work, there's not enough ladders to reach high locations so you're always walking around looking and waiting for a set, they took away you being able to have your phone which is a safety issue more than anything, they expect you to train new people when you're new yourself because nobodies staying, half the scanners don't work, it's basically lucky dip with the trollies if you even get one, all of it is doubled when the shifts overlap. 
I booked a couple odd days off which I don't expect to be taken into account when looking at attendance and one got rejected, fair enough. I was asking for two nights the following week. The week I were currently on had less and less work each day and they 'gave' basically forced us to take two days holiday, annoying but fine. So the two days lead to the weekend, I get a message in the morning before going to sleep that my once rejected holiday was now accepted, obviously I go to bed happy. 
So tell me why I wake up to a message that tells me not to come back due to attendance? 
Very very angry. Not once was attendance mentioned to me, they basically forced me to take time off, said absences I booked were unauthorised and they approved holiday they originally said no to a couple hours before firing me. 
I tried arguing my case because I really liked the people on my shift but I didn't even get a response so that says it all really. 
Do not work for this company they don't care about you whatsoever. You can see it in how many new people start each week, there's no work but because nobodies staying they have to keep employing people. 
Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. 

Working at Whistl Bolton has been a thoroughly disappointing experience. The entire operation feels chaotic, with no one seeming to have a clue what they’re doing. Most people in management appear to have gotten their jobs through connections rather than qualifications, and they seem to be winging it day-to-day. Communication is virtually nonexistent unless management is dishing out sanctions or disciplinaries.

HR, who are supposed to mediate and support employees, are biased and seem to target HGV drivers in particular. Instead of offering guidance or resolutions, they seem more interested in issuing punishments. They frequently make mistakes, yet refuse to take any accountability for their actions, often leaving employees to deal with the fallout. It’s obvious they lack a proper understanding of employment law, as errors are commonplace and often go uncorrected.

The transport team is completely useless, adding to the frustration of an already poorly managed environment. The long hours are relentless, and your entire day is packed with work, leaving little time for anything else. While the pay might just about be acceptable, it’s nowhere near enough to compensate for the toxic culture, lack of support, and constant stress.

If you’re an HGV driver or anyone looking for a fair, professional, and well-managed workplace, steer clear of Whistl Bolton. This is not a company that values its employees or understands how to run a business effectively.

I worked here under the Staffline Agency (don't use they are not very good). Got the job easily because you don't need experience, the work is very easy; I would literally just sit at a computer scanning parcels or typing in the postcode and entering, sticking a sticker on the parcel and throwing it into the correct bin. Easy money but honestly soul destroying. 

My shift was 3pm - 12am Monday to Friday, with two half-hour breaks at 6pm and 9pm. In the warehouse, 98% of the workers are polish. You can tend to feel very isolated and lonely as they do not really make an effort to talk to you, and I think it is very important to have a good relationship with your colleagues. 

The management was awful; my supervisor was foreign and did not make it clear what I had to do and was very unhelpful. The people who were higher up than her did not talk to me at all. 

I took a week's holiday off and when I came back I fell very ill, so I was in contact with one of the agents from Staffline who said to me it was completely fine and to feel better. However after coming back from 2 days off sick, I ran into the woman who was a manager I suppose (she showed me around on my first day) and she said that I had been 'cancelled'. So they basically decided that because I was off sick for two days they would employ someone new and let me know when I wasted my time coming back to that place. 

Overall, I wouldn't recommend working there at all, not a professional place at all.

I worked at Iver depot for 1 year, through an agency working in Iver 1, whilst working their I received no training, basically learnt by watching other staff members (DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS GOT STUPID REPLIES) I was also loading a & unloading lorries, the training you get for doing this job is you read about 6 pieces of paper and sign a document saying you understood it, I was put on a lorry my first time all by myself not shown how to strap items up and the correct way of loading, fork lift drivers getting frustrated as I was slow the management shouting at me for the same reason ( They do not want to hear you don't know what your doing) how they pass health * safety I DO NOT KNOW. Management also have their favorites and you will notice this, Iver depot is moving to Bedford on 29th March 2019 they told everyone after the Christmas busy period, I feel sorry for staff the have been their for a long time.It seems as though management don't know what they are doing and it is the staff that run the place, but they don't get any respect or thank you's from management. I would advise people that are going to Bedford depot to think hard before joining this company either through an agency or permanent.

Most unprofessional place I've worked.  Managers and supervisors act like children at school.  They don't care about how the parcels leave the building all they care about is the volume they get out.  Never enough equipment and they bring new agency in to be trained and there is no equipment to train them. Agency workers that haven't been there long have to train the other agency workers.  Zero health and safety, everyone just does what they want. Management don't engage with staff and when they do its to talk down to them. Alot of gossiping goes on about staff and that's from the management.  Alcohol bottles found all over the building and drunk management on site. My understanding of the place is you just need to hit your KPI. No one cares if your packing is below standard because it will just get returned and someone else will get the blame. The clients stock is treated terrible.  People try on the dress up outfits,  they kick the items about, things that are fragile will get put in plastic bags or envelopes.  You will not get a chance to grow because you'll be out the door then the next new person will come. It's revolving doors of staff.

PLEASE TAKE THE ADVISE AND FIND A BETTER COMPANY. they pay as close to minimum wage as they can, they work you like dogs, they don't care about staff at all. they have made 2000 people redundant in 2015, 2017 they closed two depots and made staff redundant again circa 150 people. now they are closing another two depots with redundancy expected to be 150 people again.

staff don't matter to whistl, only ever about money. no job security. never going to pay fairly for hard work. 

they are now moving to bedford area. please do not support this company by working for them. they are shameful and do not deserve good people. they were still recruiting 3 months before this last redundancy as they don't care about kicking people out at short notice. there redundancy period is not even 3 months. thats because the staff turnover is so bad that they will only have to pay a few people to stay at home as the rest can be made redundant within 2 months, why they do this, to save money.

i would recommend literally any company over Whistl.

Most of the time I was scanning mail for a handover. I had to achieve fixed hourly targets, regardless size or weight of items scanned. There were times, when I needed to deal with overweight items too. Worst of all, I had to work with broken equipment on a daily basis - I can't remember a day with a properly working pump truck.

The management of this company was terrible. Every new rule, such as mobile device ban, was active for couple of weeks only. Not because it was a temporary rule, but because supervisors and managers didn't care enough to remember. Also, if you couldn't come to work, you had only a 50% chance of reaching Admin office to let them know you are not coming. Sometimes no one would answer and sometimes your call would be sent straight to voicemail.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with the co-workers. People there were messy, and only cared about themselves (thanks to the hourly target system). No one would ever help you, unless you were scanning light-weight items. Some of the colleagues drank at work. Some of them were working less, as they got along with the current authorities, leaving you to do all the work.

The work itself was not that bad as long as it was individual.

The co-workers are great and its nice to have some chat and a laugh. The work itself is easy but does get repetitive but that is like most work. The covid measurements in place are good and upper management did want people to be safe whilst at work so that is a positive. I learned how to pick and pack in a warehouse setting as well as processing returns. The negatives about working here is if your with an agency you can be dismissed at any time if you are not performing target (which is fine) however sometimes you will not always meet your targets which is where the problem lies. Management need to understand that sometimes targets will not be met and could do better in understanding why the target was not met and how to improve. Alongside this, training could be improved as usually team leaders are busy with their job or other duties. However, they should have a set trainer or they should train people themselves so the new employees are aware of what their team leader wants from them. Overall, I would say the job itself is fine and there is progression in the company. 

Working for Whistl or TNT as it was called in the beginning was good, I joined right at the beginning and their were alot of positives such as the hours, pay and job security as their was promise of expansion and more rounds,

That soon vanished, within 6 months staff were leaving as they were asked to do too much such as take out double / tripple rounds bare in mind your cycling to each round which could be 2-3 miles away then the round weight started increasing from 20kg all the way up to 60-80kg. Even with all the extra work we were required to finish it in less time, Eventually the total time of all round were supposed to be finished in less time than the original round you started on.

Then it was re branded as Whistl much good this did! 

Within 4 months of the re brand Whistl suspended the E2E (Postman) service, with out notice or any warning, Just showed up at work one day to be told to go  home without pay!
causing hundreds if not thousands of people to be out of work.

I would say that based on my experience I would I had amazing experience until it turned out the way I would not expect it to happen. Very disappointed the result but expected the result. It was not like workmates wanted me there cos I was not submitting to their egos and prides to supress me. I feel my choices were limited and I lost the interest. Though I have given my best at this job until I just lost interest. I could not keep up with it anymore. I think my behaviour became antagonizing  to them than my talent and I couldn't continue. Though I wish I worked for a long period of time but I let myself down so it's fine I can deal with that. The cost was so little and too much hard work, less breaks. I worked more than anyone's else did. So yeah I didn't want to be taken advantage with my energy any longer.
