It was agreed that one would be working in a different location each week, and that we would find out on the Wednesday prior to each week, yet once employed, the next weeks location was revealed on the Sunday night of each week, which was the case for everyone employed. It was also agreed that, being a sales orientated position, employees would be given 6-8 weeks before they were expected to meet the weekly sales quota, yet 3 weeks in, including a weeks in-the-field training, performance emails were being received, threatening termination of employment.

After receiving my first months pay, I found that I had been underpaid a rather considerable sum and could no reason as to why this was the case. That being said, I contacted the company regarding my payslip and the money I had not receive, and it wasn't long after this that I had been sent my money, although it took a few weeks after this for me to receive my payslip. Almost 3 months since leaving Don't Waste Money I am still yet to receive travel money that I had been promised, and have now been ignored multiple times after enquiring why I hadn't been sent the money on the dates I was promised. I also never received a uniform whilst under employment.

Regardless of these issues, the job allowed me to gain experience in a face-to-face sales environment, and had opportunities to earn a good value commission on top of a basic salary.

Dreadful communication from everyone, expecting you to work from 10 in the office and then 8 on patch leaving you getting home at ridiculous times while still ringing you at 11pm to sort out the next day. The pay is extortionately low they tell you that you need 4 hour on the patch to get paid but do not tell you the specifics of it all. I've got paid multiple time late and the incorrect amount. The other coworkers are fine but the overall management and structure is dreadful and needs changing. Overall it's a dreadful experience to work there with no structure to anything and promises of being able to move up but that all depends on external factor like the patch being bad and other things. I would never return and anyone who is thinking off applying look elsewhere as you will be done over multiple times working here.

Navigating through the challenges of COVID and then the impact of the war in Ukraine on the energy market immediately afterwards. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent - the right balance between a target driven sales environment and a people first, values based culture. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Another great thing about my role was that there was no such thing as a typical day!

Dwm are fantastic at promising great pay and incentives. However, they never deliver. They do offer commission, but you have no way to check your earnings and they take random cuts of your earnings, leaving you with way less than you expect. Management is unorganised, untrained and manipulative. They also expect you to run errands, unpaid and in your free time.  Overtime is expected/required and unpaid. Travel is also unpaid and you end up spending hours on trains and over a quarter of your salary on travel. Overall, a toxic and stressful group to work for with very little earning potential. I could never recommend this job to anyone.

My experience there was not the best but yet picked up some great skills along the way. They expect you to pick up sales and hit sales every week when it has said that you'll be in training for 6-8 weeks then you can start hitting sales. 

4 weeks in, I was getting emails of employment termination and threats for not being able to hit target. 

Manager wasn't bad but however there was no updates yet no help afterwards. Just went cold. 

However, I've picked up some solid skills that can translate to my next job. 
If you want to work here, expect to be quick with sales. They only care about sales and the sales you make at the end of the week. 

The job was not that bad , notably 8-5pm call centre job type role but getting sales for Scottish power but the thing is the lead was not enough. 
Hardly any leads and they be making you work like a dog 
Hardly any breaks and even toilet breaks where stripped from us due to the reason of people be away from the desk 

The management was not good and HR was not good at alll 

After I left I had to chase up to HR on missed payments and they refunded me £600 that they missed on pay 

Like I said it’s a decent place holder job but not for a career 

I am now moving onto my 4th year here at Don’t Waste Money and I’ve had such an amazing time here. The directors and managers have really pushed me in all aspects of life and ensured I am the best version of myself. It’s a company the encourages people to speak up and voice their opinion. A company that really does want every single employee to be the best versions of themselves. I couldn’t imagine working for anyone else now! Great growth and amazing opportunities for anyone who has a work ethic! 

The job seems really nice at first however in the interview they don't explain everything clearly and you tend to get overwhelmed with information and expectations. The pay system is also not what they tell you in the training/interview either as they say that you'll be paid for training when you aren't. Also they give you a "choice" to pick between a fixed salary and one that can be increased with the effort you put in but thats not the case. Do not work here, it's not worth the time and effort you'll put into it. 

Door to door sales selling energy.

You learn your sales skills well and receive support and training from colleagues and management, there is no fixed salary and you're on a self-employed contract.

If you're starting from a desk job etc it's a huge jump as very active and travelling to places which can be quite far.

There are pathways for progression, all based upon performance and some knowledge.

I learned some very good skills with the job, however.

you feel like you shifted off towards other members of the team for help instead of the manager of the campaign. Manager of the campaign would complain if you didn’t hit sales targets in a difficult market but wouldn’t hit targets themselves/not working.

It’s a hard job to be successful at but you
will learn some super skills for sales and it will help better yourself at the end of the day.
